  • I have had this bike since March of 2020...So I figured I would do a review on It.
Are you thinking about getting a bike, this bike wont disappoint. Hope I give you some insight on the Kawasaki KLX 300 R. It is a fun and affordable machine. I have taken it on many trail rides, you can check them out on my CZcams channel. Hope you run out and get a bike, hit the trails and go Riding in God’s Country!!!

I have this bike. PCV, KDX snorkel, FMF powerbomb with Q4 and a tune. Factory settings are pretty lean. This bike likes a bit more fueling. Mine runs very well now. Wide foot pegs are a must. This is a true Trail Bike. I have tons of fun riding mine and do not regret spending less money than is needed for a racing bike. I don't race, I ride for fun.

Your last statement abt riding with your son on trails and enjoying the beauty of Gods world is exactly why I bought this bike after selling my YZ250. I had a bad accident and almost killed myself on the track, rather than give it up altogether I decided to get something I felt safer on that wouldn’t get me in trouble. My plan is trails and adventure rides from here on out, bike lacks punch but it seems like it would make up for it in other areas

Thought I would check out your video since I'm searching for a light weight dirt bike. Kawasaki's new KX250X is perfect however, I no longer have the need for speed and probably will not be riding that often to justify the higher MSRP. Looks like I'll have to sacrifice light weight for a KLX or Honda's CRF250F. I've been riding dirt bikes for years and rode with friends who had this bike when it was kick start and a carb. Back then it was cheap to maintain, very reliable and performed okay. Although, now with a new one if you have a dead battery or an electrical problem you're stuck.

Money of course is always to be considered. I have found having the correct spring weights and damping settings make a day/night difference. Check Race Tech spring rate chart. Many think they need a big dollar race bike to ride well. But it's like a good song, you just need your instruments tuned correctly. I'll bet that bike comes with springs too soft on both ends. But maybe not

in the video the guy says 11/1 and should be 13/1. He was referring to air fuel mixture and this guy is mistaken. motorcycles are configured to run lean for emissions, that is more like 14.5-15/1 parts air to fuel. A typical mixture ratio should be 12.9-13.2/1 air to fuel. if the bike was configured with 11/1 that would be on the very rich side and likely not going to run very well! being fuel injected it is not a simple jetting manipulation to richen up the fueling. likely a programmer will have to be purchased, although I have not researched that part, if this bike was easily tuned and had a kick start only option I would be highly interested in this bike!

I think you may be mistaking about the EPA required AFR. On my NEW 2006 V-Star 1300 (street bike) the the EPA required 14.6 : 1 AFR for cruise and 21:1 AFR for closed throttle. The engine ran like shit. Misfiring jerking and irritating me at a cost of $13,000 LOL
14:1 AFR is perfect for cruising, and 11:1 AFR for maximum power.
If the your engine actually has a 11:1 AFR IMHO it would be a mistake to change it.
I wasted $1,000 on a Power Commander + tune, then bought an AFR gauge for $400 and determined what is causing the engine to misfire and driving me crazy. During the 6 months my bike was in several Yamaha service departments that did nothing. Honestly absolutely nothing and refused me documents to prove the bike was in their shops. The lemon law requires that you exhaust all means for repair before the judge will rule in your favor so the shops refused to give me documents. Likely in my opinion Yamaha motorcycle warranties ant worth shit in many cases. I don't know how many.
AN AFR TOO RICH OR TOO LEAN WILL DESTROY YOUR ENGINE. AFR MEANS AIR FUEL RATIO . FOR EXAMPLE 14:1 MEANS 14 PARTS AIR TO ONE PART FUEL VAPOR. AN AFR GREATER THAN 14:6 : 1 WILL HAVE A HIGH COMBUSTION CHAMBER TEMPERATURE, CAUSE MISFIRING AND DETONATION WHHICH WILL DESTROY YOUR ENGINE .
AN AFR TOO RICH WILL WASH THE OIL OFF THE CYLINDER WALLS AND CAUSE PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE.
I CAN'T MY BOOK ON THIS SUBJECT. YOU CAN FIND MANY MILITARY PUBLICATIONS ON THE NET THEY WROTE YEARS AGO WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET THE MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE OF AIRPLANE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES. THEIR FINDINGS WERE FIELD VERIFIED SO BELIEVE THEM.
