      St Kilda area Melbourne is perfect for long walks, casual dining, eating ice-cream, and having a glass of a cold drink, especially on a nice warm day )

    I'm visiting Melbourne in August and staying in St Kilda. Can't wait to see it. Also cool that the area is named after a place in Scotland (my country) :).

    We were backpackers from Dublin, Ireland and lived briefly in Marine Parade, St Kilda across from the beach. We had great nights out at the Vineyard watching the live bands. The place hasn't seemed to have changed too much in the 18 odd years since we were there. Can't believe it's been that long!

      Wow thank you for sharing your story 😊 St Kilda definitely preserved all its character from back then. Melbourne CBD on the other hand, is forever changing. I hope you will visit Australia again in the nearest future 😊

    Doesn't anyone fish off the pier now?

    • @travelwithvioletvik
      @travelwithvioletvik  Před rokem

      Every so often you can see people fishing there, but strangely that day there were none

      @@travelwithvioletvik Thanks. When i was a kid we used to fish there all the time. Also, in those days the water was crystal blue. You could see 20ft down to the bottom. l visited some years back and the water is now all muddied - a dirty brown. Due to the ferries, i suppose..
