    Set in 2010, the third installment of Fargo centers on “Emmit Stussy” and his slightly younger brother “Ray” (Ewan McGregor in dual roles).
    Emmit, the “Parking Lot King of Minnesota,” is a handsome, self-made real estate mogul with a perfect family - a real American success story. His slightly younger brother Ray is more of a cautionary tale. Wilted from a lifetime of living in Emmit’s shadow, Ray is a balding, pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt - and he blames his brother.
    The only bright spot in Ray’s life is the love of a not-so-good woman, “Nikki Swango” (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), one of his parolees. Nikki has brains, beauty and a deep and abiding passion for competitive bridge. She decides to help Ray turn his fortunes around, by essentially stealing back his good karma. Unsurprisingly, things quickly get out of hand and petty theft leads to murder.

    Fargo has top notch acting from everyone. But man, Thewlis was this other force.

    I've watched a lot of film and I have to say there has been no villain character concept that blew my mind like V. M. Varga. I was horrified about the idea that someone with vast amount of money can enforce themselves into my life like that. Thewlis really brought it to life. 10/10.

    • @wolfganghasenmaier8350
      @wolfganghasenmaier8350 Před rokem

      The East German spoke accentfree pure German. Yuri wouldn`t. Neither Varga although...not sure...an East German seriously talented with language could speak with a British accent (I can and I`m German) ...later on...London has always been a hotbed of Secret Agents of many nations... Just mentioning this. Imo True Detective at times brings in the Transcendental Aspects. "Yellow Giant" then in this season here the daughter/cop of the accidentally murdered old guy finds a mysterious box that opens when its light shines, a hand comes out and switches it off, etc etc etc... @@dr4nkf3ll4

    • @CharlieBrown20XD6

      Vin Facts capitalist, communist, socialist... At the end of the day there's always someone like Varga using whatever system to make the most amount of money and leave the rest of us with none. That's the flaw with every system. No matter what someone like Varga will always find a way to take advantage and leave the rest of us high and dry

    • @crimesinspaaace
      @crimesinspaaace Před 3 lety +9

      the stalin picture is more a nod to his sensibilities regarding the malleable nature of truth. yuri has a monologue about putin using different forms of truth or alternate truth being pushed by the state; stalin did much the same in the way he was revisionist with history and used his power to frame/disappear political enemies, perceived or real.
