I agree about your lovely curled hair!
It is always nice when you pop up on my screen. You are both educational and soothing.

I used the tutorial for the self drafted walking skirt and have made at least a half dozen so far. They have become a staple in my daily wardrobe and get mixed with a combination of historical, vintage and modern pieces. I used the pattern to make a flannel petticoat which I wear with it in the winter that acts as lining. I am definitely pro walking skirt!

a walking skirt has been on my radar for a very long time. seeing your comparisons of fabric types and fabric widths has been an enormous help.
Now I have choices - a couple of light weight slightly narrower skirts and a variety of petticoats in light ,medium and may be a slightly warmer for cooler weather.
Thank you for today's video. Australia's weather is very changeable, only as warm or cooler as the layers you put on here.

A winter walking skirt and a summer walking skirt - I like both of them for different reasons, the two of them have both the colours for the seasons as well as the weight and fullness - they both work beautifully.

Hello Rebecca, i hope i dont´t sound creepy but you look lovely with your hair open.
I do not own a walking skirt yet, but would love to make one (with pocket), I´d probably wear it to the office, too.

I also prefer to make unlined skirts (I wear long 1930s skirts every day). As a Texas girl, it's useful to be able to adapt one skirt to the weather by wearing different petticoats underneath.
My first historical projects (two 1890s walking skirts) were lined with a heavy gauze because I didn't know what I was doing and it sucks! 😂 I then made a nicer Edwardian trumpet skirt that was flatlined in brown cotton sateen, and it's okay, but definitely can't be worn from April to September.

Thanks for sharing! I love walking skirts but the only one I ever made had a problem with the hem facing flaring outwards, and it always looks like I’m wearing a bell. It took so much time and fabric I
Haven’t had the heart to try another.
Also, your hair looks so nice curled! 😁
