How do you animate the walking and jumping so smooth?

Well, I find for myself its much easier to achieve smooth movement if your animating on clay like I did here, but the key to achieving smooth animation is to follow the 12 principles of animation. You can read about them here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_basic_principles_of_animation And there are also videos about them.
