THE 1320 MINI RUN THEIR SHOP CARS AT THE STREET WEEKEND EVENT

- 1320 Mini owners Scott and Thomas entered their daily driven cars in the FWD class at the Street Weekend event, along with a 3rd customer car. The event is ran at two tracks, Santa Pod Raceway in Northampton and Melbourne Raceway in York. On the first day you have to run a 1/4 mile at Santa Pod, drive the 200 mile route to Melbourne Raceway and on the 2nd day run an 1/8th mile You then have to drive the 200 mile route back to Santa Pod, and on the 3rd day run another 1/4 mile. All the times are added together, and the lowest combined time wins. This was the first time this event has been run, and a total of 86 cars entered. Hopefully over the coming years the event will grow and grow.
1320 mini finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the FWD class.

R53 mini is just so ahead of its time, still looks like it could come out today, it still looks the best , bmw need to bring the design back to this .

Keep asking a friend of mine in Greece to bring his car to Santa Pod and race it cause he does 11.6 on the street!!! His car is able to do low 10s on a proper track and next is to find a MiniOne so he can get into 9sec
Or I might just come over to Greece next year. What events are good?
@@VeeDubRacing no idea mate. They keep on struggling with drag races cause we don’t have any proper tracks so my best guess is ask RTMG Petros cause he races sometimes

My sister had a mini convertible (turbo one, may have been 2012 or so can't remember)untill a few mths ago , I fell in love with the way it drove but had to tell her not to let me near it incase I got carried away and broke it, thank F I did given what I'm reading here! Fantastic driving cars, friends just bought two and my sister now drives a 595Abarth which is just as much fun as her mini, seriously good wee car to drive too.

Why are so many sleeping on the line?
I would guess because everyone is just going for a time, as it's not a race. It doesn't matter how long you sit there.
