For a long time I’ve heard that Mariah songs helped people through rough times, I guess I never took that seriously until it happened next to me, my sister is going through a tough time in her life, she’s feeling depressed and anxious, she started at this new job months ago and she’s having a hard time there, feeling inexperienced, left out and bullied, she’s having anxiety attacks and she cries a lot. One day she was really down and I started singing this song in a humorous way, playing with her, it was the weirdest thing, she teared up, the words matched EXACTLY with what she was going through and what she needed to hear, almost as if Mariah knew. I know that’s impossible and it might sound silly, but I think that shows Mariah’s talent as a songwriter and her ability to connect with people.

I saw a cassette tape on the table and played it.. I can still remember that after hearing this song, I cried and told myself I can get over and fight with all the challenges in my life... And it happened.. It got me through any hardships.. It is a gospel song for me as well as Mariah's other gospel songs that helped me through the years... That is why whatever people say about Mariah, they can never take away her soul in music.. deep, soulful, really a God's instrument...

Can't believe this song is 20 years old! I remember buying the album on my lunch break in high school, then I had a math test that I couldn't focus on cause I was shit at it but mainly cause I couldn't wait for the end of the school day to go home and listen to the album.
