Mountain of Faith is maybe the only game of the touhou series where using bombs is mandatory because patterns are just not applicable for normal mode. It's a case of "well, you only learn the pattern by dying from it so it cant be helped" which is also the reason why this game does not really have a game over state. You can retry as often as you want.

I'm still struggling to beat Kanako on Easy...then again, most of my suffering is self inflicted, since I try to go bombless so I can get as many extra lives as I can from points.

i really don't know why ppl said MoF is the easiest. EosD,PCB and TD are the 3 easiest. (both normal and easy mode except for PCB).
eosd is heavy on rng. You can say it's the easiest in normal/extra, but when you consider stuff like scoring/lunatic, it's rather vexing. Game is difficult in a wrong way
As for PCB, I don't even. I haven't beaten normal yet, I actually did extra already
@@AlexisC183 it may be more that my skills are very inconsistent in touhou 6, but the problems is the same, I cannot get a route to work consistently
EosD is one of the hardest for me, because you can't see the hitbox
MoF has some really hard pattens but the bombing system is busted. You can basically bomb/death bomb for free.
