Hi. Thanks for your video. The manual says press the foil until the window when you heat it. So I am a bit confused. Wouldn't the foil be too tight and brake if you press the foil until the window?
Did you have a lot of air between the window and foil? What's the best thing to do?

Hello, maybe u have another brand then mine. Mine Said to heat the foil until the wrinkels were gone. The foil itself is pretty sturdy it is still hanging without any cracks. And i think there is 2cm of air (think its close to an inch)

@@bechill1873 thanks for your answer. No it's exactly the same brand. But it seem impossible to press it against the window. 2 cm with air seem right, so I will go for your method. :)

@@ytringerthe packaging says it "forms an insulating cushion of air" so there is supposed to be left a gap between the film and the glass. It doesn't say how big though, but I'm guessing a couple centimetres does the job 🤷

I read not too much of a space between the window and the foil.. About 1,5 cm.. No less. Not much more.. Because the air is an isolator. But if you have too much space between the glass and the foil.. There wil be convection. Meaning the air will not be standing still but there will be a loop that will lower the insulation. It will be a rotating/movement of air from low too higher and down again.. and so transport warmth form inner side too outer glass..

At the end of winter season, I think you are supposed to take out / to take away / to tear down this "Tesa Thermo Cover transparent film" from your windows.
Does the double-sided adhesive tape leave traces of glue or does it damage the surface of the frame of your windows ? What material is the frame of the window made of: painted wood, coloured pvc, painted aluminium ?
Thanks a lot for your video, I have really appreciated it, very well filmed and done.

At some point i redid a window the sticky tape is easy to remove but I didnt take it away as it should work in the summer to for the warmth, the window itself is painted wood. And thank you for the kind words glad u liked it !!

@@bechill1873 Can I ask you why at some point you decided to re-do / re-apply the Thermo film on one window ? Was the film detaching from the adhesive tape or perhaps the themo film by itself get broken / get any hole ?
Anyway, I am pretty surprised (and really glad) that, as you wrote, if you remove the double-sided adhesive tape from the frame of the window, it doesn't leave traces of glue or it does't stain the paint / fade the paint / whiten the paint or it doesn't detach some small pieces of paint from the frame. I would have expected definitely some problems like that, expecially on a woden frame painted in glossy black colour like the windows you filmed.
Really useful informations and experience 👍.
By the way, maybe have you any further suggestion / advice to give me, overall, about this product, its installation and its functioning ?
I have decided to put this Thermo film on my windows as well; I live in New Zealand and winter is approaching 🥶; but I have in mind to keep the film on the windows only during the cold period, because I am afraid that, from an aesthetical point of view, it spoils the general appearance of the window / of the house (it can be not nice looking).

And yes u can see the film there but it is not bad when all the wrinkels are gone with a hairdryer Just for cleaning the window it is a fine plastic film so u need to be careful
