BOISE -- Lori Vallow Daybell asked to leave the courtroom mid-way through her trial Tuesday afternoon.
Her attorneys argued the testimony and evidence were too emotional and requested that Judge Steven Boyce excuse her.
Prosecutors argued that Daybell stay and Boyce agreed by refusing to grant the motion argued by her defense.

It's one thing for Lori to walk around gradiosely perceiving herself as a goddess and another to have to see the results of such ignorant, misguided, tragic, evil delusions. Kudos to the judge for making her remain in court.

Absolutely - any innocent defendant would want to stay and hear what they would feel confident they could defend. I’m furious that capital punishment is off the table. She’s probably thinking/realising “oh shit this is indefensible” and that’s what’s really causing her discomfort. As for Chad, it seems other people’s children are expendable - wonder if he’d have been willing to expend his own had they been dependant ages.

Lori plays so many games they should force her to look at all photos of her dead babies. So that the memories torment her every night for the rest of her life.

It blows my mind that in this age of tech we're in that people think they can get away with stuff. Like dexter says, there's always one thing the killers leave behind. And in this case, literally everything was a trail. I believe if it wasn't for Kay and Larry that they wouldn't have been caught as fast and Charles wouldn't have been linked as a murder but as the accident they claimed it was. But things have a funny way of coming back to bite you in the badonka donk.

The prosecution did a fantastic job laying out how they should be allowed to use her self imposed absence against her in closing arguments should she be allowed to leave. Good on the judge for making the right call.
Motion denied. Thank you Judge & Staff who researched the basis both for and against so that the judge could rule on this matter expediently. I believe the judge's ruling set the tone for the remainder of the trial. She will be present & she's not running the show. The evil that took the lives of 4 people: Charles Vallow, Tammy Daybell, Tylee Ryan, & JJ Vallow is beginning to be real to the defendant.

No cameras was the judge's ruling. No DP was taken off the table by the judge because of the prosecution's 11th hour handing over of documents. Separate trials was also granted by the judge. All seems fair to me as far as appeals down the line possibly being granted had the judge ruled otherwise.

She really seems to be someone who is used to getting her way and throwing fits to make people react like she wants them to. Watching the body cams of her interactions with the police.. she lays on the charm and makes everyone believe her even when she is the monster.

@@Connectthedots117 I’m finding the similarities between this trial and the Leticia Stauch trial (including both the defendants and their defense teams) to be surprisingly striking and telling. Both defendants are used to being able to control their partners and opponents via amazing feats of offensive gaslighting and neither can believe someone’s solidly stood up to them now that they’ve pushed their game WAY too far. And both sets of defense teams are trying to blame someone else for the ghastly consequences - including the Juries. What a pair of Shakespearean circuses!
I was questioning as to whether Lori was either hit with a sudden dose of reality or if she was putting on a show of emotion because her lawyers told her it didn't look good that she sat stone faced most of the time. After thinking on it for a bit, I really think it was the former. She was someone who made others do her dirty work. Alex was her hitman. She didn't have to deal with the murders and the bodies and instead got to sit back and reap all the benefits...her new husband, all those life insurance policies and SS benefits, and she was now kid free. It was all rainbows and unicorns for her because Alex dealt with the rest. Now shes seeing the dark side of her actions and now she has to deal with the repercussions. I think THAT is why she asked to be removed from the remainder of the trial.

If she didn't know how the kids bodies were "destroyed", she needed to. Its easier to put distance between yourself and evil doings that way I suppose. She needed to see and hear what happened and how it affected others. The realization of truth might just snap her out of that fantasy she created for herself.

Very glad he made her stay put. Everyone in that room is gonna be haunted by what they hear and see, she needs to be one of them. "Fragile state of mind" bollocks! She needs to see and hear what her kids went through.

Ironic that she showed no emotions during the testimony and yet she got emotional right after lunch. Guess she figured out how evil and gruesome her crime was. That she will not be able to wiggle out of the verdict with her smiles and munipulations. Glad that the Judge didnot permit her request. The public may not be able to see the trial live, but the public are watching news medias and listening to the audios of the trial everyday. Lori must and needs to seat and hear&see all that was done!!!!

I heard talk today by Nate, I believe, that this was probably not a viable option now that the trial has begun. I sure hope she won't be allowed to pull that crap!

Didn't she say that they were safe and happy? She should see! And I don't think that those photos aren't something that wasn't in the discovery. Hence this isn't the 1st time she has seen these photos.

I keep coming back to this-her fragile mental state didn't prevent her from clearing her apartment of her children's things, putting them in a storage unit, getting on a plane and going to Hawaii, trying to evade police and cover up her actions, it didn't stop her from laughing and smiling for the cameras, it doesn't stop her from pursuing chad.....BUT all of a sudden she's too fragile to face the consequences of her actions. I'm sorry she thinks she's a superior being, but I'm not buying it. Good ruling but those attorney's have got to be kidding right now.

I'm in the UK so only following this on CZcams. She has no right to be absent from the court room. She needs to sit and listen to all of the proceedings.
