I can't understand anyone that's saying she was once a good mother cause I see none of that, she has no emotional reaction whatsoever when you mention her children being dead, found in a pet cemetery 💔
The sisters phone call when she was crying screaming at lori telling her they any member of their family would have taken those kids in breaks my heart because you cam hear her love for those children in her voice.. yet the mother has nothing to show
Not only did she not show remorse in public... she joked and laughed about "too many kids" and then they were dead. So sad.

I never thought I would say this, but, I actually really feel sorry for this defence lawyer. He knows she is as guilty as hell but he knows, it’s also his job to stand in that court while thousands of others are listening in to his closing argument. I think the emotional tears he shows are more about the overwhelming stress of the passed few weeks are now coming to a head. He has done his job to the best of his ability to defend this monster who is clearly guilty. Not an easy job!
And unfortunately for him, his speaking voice is slow and disaffected….I’ve had sleeping videos that didn’t put me to sleep as well as his speech does!! 😴

They make the decision to represent nevertheless, they are also given the evidence before hand..I don't know how any lawyer can defend the overweleming evidence of her complicity in these egregious crimes.

Exactly. She hired the babysitter that day and made it seem like a regular job, to appear normal. No doubt she was gone the whole day, while the babysitter was there, because she needed that time to discuss the next bit of the plan face to face.
Sorry the defense is trying to say that Lori was stupid, but she wasn't. She was slick and slimy and prepared to collect a lot of money and go her merry way with Chad.

I kept waiting for an explanation as to why Lori wasn't looking for, or, worried about her kids. But that never happened. He didn't even try to pull a Jose Baez on the jury. Because there is no possible explanation, other than that she knew they were dead because she had them killed.

@@chelseamarie1317 I remember watching this case from when they kids were still classified as missing and I can't remember where I heard it but I'm sure I heard some testimonies that the brother and sister were uncomfortably comfortable with one another and I'm sure people brought up that it seemed an odd relationship, as in too close for siblings.

I actually feel very sorry for the defense lawyer. He sounded like he was struggling throughout his speech. No conviction in his voice. By law Lori must have a fair trial. Her lawyer did his job. However, he felt she was guilty as sin! He sounded like he didnt want to be there. I do feel for him..
One could argue the other way around: after Lori came into Chads life everything changed. He didn't kill anyone before Lori appeared on the scene. They are equally responsible.

I get he is doing his job, but not much of a defense. I guess its pretty hard to defend the undefendable. My heart goes out to Larry, Kay and so many others that were deeply effected and may have had their lives in danger if it wasn't for Larry & Kay. I wish for the families sake Chad & Lori had their trials together. Its unthinkable that they will all have to face this again, before they can even start to put their lives back together, even though life will never be the same again. Hearing this closing statement exemplifies how difficult it is to be a defense lawyer of a guilty defendant. So many feeble attempts to instill some doubt with weak reasoning. But, you can't blame Archibald. He can only work with what is available based on who he's defending.
Never forget her smile on her first day in court when she KNEW her kids were found. She smiled throughout the trial even after seeing what was done to her children. Her defence putting this on chad and Alex just confirm Lori was the thread

I’m giving the defense attorney my praise. They have one of those jobs that that can be very hard to do. It is a very important job and we all need to remember that. They save the innocent often. They save the wrongfully convicted. Those cases would definitely feel good. Then a case comes like this. They have a job to do even though it conflicts with their morales and feelings because they know they have a guilty defendant. Maybe they can’t prove them innocent but they can save them from an unreasonable sentence or from execution. Archie did his job as best he could. Lori didn’t give him anything to even work with. She’s innocent because she has an alibi. That’s it. That’s all he has. I’m sure he’s glad to put this one in the file cabinet. So many times I said bad things about him while listening. Literally out loud I would say something and my husband would look at me like I am crazy. I’m listening with ear buds…lol. My husband doesn’t know a thing about any high profile cases going on. I talk to him like ….”how can you not know this case”? He is the perfect juror for case like this for one side or the other. I mention this because we , that watch this stuff , think the whole world knows…lol. Omg he just called Chad ugly as I’m listening. Yes, she was nuts to leave Charles. Charles was a hottie.
I agree here...I have laughed at how bad the defense has defended this case (not cross examining many witnesses, not bringing in witnesses, objecting and being overruled frequently,failing at discrediting the experts etc)...but honestly, they are public defenders who didn't choose this case and they did what they could with what they had. Which was not much. Two children were horribly murdered and a faithful wife was suffocated in her marital bed. Lori is undefendable. Her biggest win was getting the death penalty removed. Prison justice awaits her.
My husband's already tired of this case! He saw me crying yesterday and needed to comfort me. Too precious! But just like I cried when Leticia Stauch was being sentenced for taking beautiful Gannon from the world, I'm going to cry over what Lori did to JJ and Tylee. I'm lucky, don't cry often but the reconciliation of this is heartbreaking, y'all get it. And I agree, Charles was a good man, she's nuts for betraying him to be with Chad, ugh!

He really doesn't have much to work with so he takes a lot of liberties with evidence and testimonies. One of the most ridiculous things to come out of his mouth is asking that if Lori wanted money, why didn't she take out life insurance on the children. Well, Mr. Archibald, she would have had to pay for it and then she would have had to report that the children had died and explain how that happened.

He’s painting an angel. Charles was her fourth husband and none of her husbands were in the picture despite the kids. She’s a manipulative gold digger who’s using men for her convenience mercilessly whole her life. She even manipulated and used her kids for her own gain. Poor Tylee was under her spell instead of functioning like a typical 16 years old teenager. And I have no doubt there’s a deal for her to go along with adoption of JJ . I don’t think this woman is capable of loving anyone including Chad.

Damn.. I'm about 8 minutes into the defenses closing argument, and am really feeling sorry for the attorneys that were chosen to defend her. They have NO defense. So, now I'm 15 minutes in, and can not believe the defense is trying to say Lori is not guilty due to Chad's influence over her.

It’s painful listening to this. The state clearly showed she’s the ringleader. Just her reactions in court are enough for me to know she’s guilty. I hope their portal works good because I doubt they will ever lay eyes on each other again.
When he starts crying I think it is honestly about the victims. Listen to what he is saying. When he says “ since you’re sinner”. Listen to the tone especially . Those comments were for Lori. I can could feel that energy when he said it. Again I think that little speech helped the prosecution.
I actually felt like he was crying for the job he has to do. I’m sure he knows she’s guilty and think of the toll that takes on you to have to defend someone like that. He is a public defender he HAD to take her case. He likely prayed beforehand for the strength 😢

I loved his closing argument, I was laughing so hard. there is no way I could have kept from laughing in court, if I would have been there. I actually like him. He really didn't have a lot to work with. I think he had to come from the angle that he did, to try to get some sympathy for his client. It is his job. He made that clear in opening statements. He has to represent who he is given.

To be fair, they didn’t really have anything to work with for a closing argument. When the prosecution rested their case, so did the defence. All they said was something along the lines of “we don’t believe the state has proven their case so we rest”. The reality is more likely that they simply had not a single witness to call in Lori’s favour and nothing to present to defend her. Their whole defence has had to be done through cross examination of the prosecution witnesses and try and poke holes where they think they could. It’s hard to put up a defence when you have nothing to work with and there clearly isn’t one because she’s as guilty as all hell. Lori would obviously not speak against Chad in anyway herself on the stand, so they really had nothing. Even though they attacked him here, that wasn’t her saying it and it’s the best they could do to shift blame. Didn’t work in my opinion, thank god.
Kacy Anthony is guilty as hell too, but Jose Baez made sure she had a defense argument and a closing. Old Archibald didn't even try. Hope it's not enough for her to win on appeal. Oh well, I'm jumping ahead I suppose.

Lori’s lack of defence is her own doing. She refused to turn on Chad. She could have thrown her dead brother under the bus. She could have implicated some of the states witnesses. But it seems she didn’t want to. Apparently she was even upset that her lawyers attacked Chad in their closing argument trying to do anything to shift some blame from her. If she was willing herself, her defence could have been very different. But I agree. I hope if she’s found guilty, it’s not used as a reason for appeal.

I feel like this lawyer knows how guilty she is and he’s trying to show his empathy for the case. I think it weighs heavy on him that he is on the wrong side. It’s obvious by the things he saying and he’s also trying to get sympathy. There’s no sympathy, I do think this was hard on him and he is a good person

Yes. He’s not even a dynamic or good speaker. He definitely isn’t convincing as he has to look at his notes for facts he should know by heart. I think I know the case better than he does and could’ve written and given a better speech even if full of half-truths and outright lies no one would believe.
