Really helpful video. I like to put two long 2x4’s underneath. That makes it easier to slide out and it helps protect the floor.

I always reference CZcams for videos on projects I have never attempted before and for the most part I have no problem giving a like and occasionally subscribe. Awesome thanks for posting this. My exact mower.
Saved me $$$. Removed deck in no time, cleaned it completely, replaced gator blades with regular blades until fall, and put the deck back on, all in about a hour.

Thanks for this, it is funny my front bar for the deck has been gone for I don't know how long now, LOL I was trying to figure out what was going on with my deck. Now I know I think I'm just going to have to find a metal rod and make a new one or something. It'll work, LOL.

I watched the video for the same reason. Once I knew what I was looking for I found the clip, the washer, and part of the rod, a little cut up, in my yard.

Video was a huge help. Thanks for the vid.Had no clue how to get the cable off the bracket. The steps the manual has is a no go. What size mower belt does this model use?
I’m glad this video was helpful. You will need to take the model number from under the seat and find a parts breakdown online to get the correct belt for the tractor.
HAVE THE VERY SAME MOWER. the spindle locked up and now I can confidently replace .

My mower deck is too low to get into my shed even on the highest setting? Am I able to adjust the whole thing higher? Is it just the adjustable nut in the back supports?

Have same mower and it looks as tho my brake shoes that stop the wheels on the deck are grooved almost to the metal after only 10 hours?
If you are talking about the brakes that stop the mower blade spindle pulleys? sounds strange but I would need to see your machine to find out the reason. As long as the brakes are not making a metal to metal sound you should be ok.
I used this video to help me get the deck off. Now my blade engagement spring broke, Can I replace just the spring or do I need to replace the entire cable?
You will need to replace the cable.
I have this mower but I have to disengage the blade to go in reverse. Is this correct or am i doing something wrong?
Hi Mary, Yes are correct, you cannot cut in reverse until you engage the safety lock out. I am pretty sure once you start the tractor, turn the ignition key back one spot and that should put the machine in the "cut in reverse mode" Try that and let me know if it worked. So start the tractor like you normally would, then turn the ignition key back one position, then try and cut in reverse. It should allow you to now mow in reverse if I am correct.
Hmm,i always thought they were built by mtd. Ive got an old cub cadet ltx1040 and been watchin out for a parts mower and saw a poulan pro like this one grown up in a field as i was goin to a customers place to mow a few weeks ago. Guess it wouldn't be compatible with my old cub though so ill keep lookin.
Poulan is not MTD.
Thanks for the info. have the same mower, not only had to replace the pulley drive on the transaxle, had to replace the whole transaxle. General Transmissions really are a piece of garbage and they do not back them up. Sorry company.
