At least you wont have any muck in your heating system 🙂.
I know it can be surprising but it can also cause a lot of issues for a pond to have that stuck in the pipework rotting away.

I'm impressed with the fact you can stand in that cold water. Not sure of water temperature here (southern Ontario Canada) as pond is completely covered in about 6" of solid ice and the air temperature this morning is - 12C although warmer weather expected later this week. I do have a 4" bottom drain on my pond which I purge weekly during pond season so thankfully not too many issues with flow into the filters. Looking forward to your next video.

I run my purge valves in to a manifold all 4 inch then I can fully flush each one via gate valves independent of each other then once done I shut off a big 4 inch ball valve just incase gate valves leak it makes a big difference id recommend this video to anyone starting a build and get purge valves as low as possible to get maximum force 😊👍🏻👍🏻

My mom is from Yorkshire, grew up in Bradford. I got to go to school there when I was 6 & we lived there for a few years.
      I really miss it!
Haven’t been to the UK since 1985 to visit my grandad he lived up in northumberland after my grandparents went back because my nanna got cancer.
Anyway you remind me of myself because I love messing around in water!
We have a gold fish pond in the front yard nothing fancy but it was me & my sisters hangout in summer!
      Still have some fish!
And when I went to school in Yorkshire they had a sand pit & a water tub I was always in the water!

Adam. I used a much simpler way to purge my bottom drain to the Nexus as my system was with a retro home made bottom drain. Take the central pipe of the Nexus. Push it down in the Nexus inlet, (not too tight). The rubber ring forms a seal. Take a sink, bath plunger. Tape a longer handle to it with gaffer tape. Plunge it up and down a few times inside the pipe. Push it right down and quickly pull the whole plot upwards dragging water through. The crap i used to pull out was unbeleivable.
