- In an interview with me at the BBC, Ricky Gervais reveals to me why he lashed out at Hollywood's stars and the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) during his hosting of the Golden Globes.

Ricky is just the epitome of a guy who success hasn't changed. Such an obviously deep thinker and outrageously fucking hilarious, not afraid to offend in the most articulate fashion and be different from the status quo. Genius.
I like how Ricky explained the whole concept just to have the guy ask a docile question ignoring completely his already given explanation.
I think you mean facile. Docile means submissive/passive. Not being a dick, I get words mixed up all the time.
Award ceremonies are the most Arbitrary monotonous relay of drivel, Ricky has done something to fix that, giving me such fantastic entertainment watching golden globes

His hosting was professional and so funny..refreshing for a room of privileged to be able to poke fun at themselves..its supposed to be a fun night..Ricky is there to make the people at home happy and laugh not to kiss arse for every nominee and winner..hes put his mark on Hollywood..he deserves his own talk show..hes a legend
Award show isnt spectator show, so i try to make it one. BRILLIANT, exactly what i thought he did with GG shows.

They weren’t just some incredibly funny jokes, were they? They were the truth. Let’s be honest.
Good comedy relies on a modicum of truth to be funny. Many of the jokes were generalizations and stereotypes as well as conspiracy theories and rumors.

A lot of the jokes were what Kellyanne Conway referred to as "alternative facts", which is another word for right wing fake news.
I came over and lived in the Lo on from 2002 till years later a dead zoo hooked to the office , it knowing if it was a documentary or a series? And also boselecta! Such great comedy! Christmas night when. The last episode when the last night was aired was great! Also bo selecta great times. Much like only fools and horses.

The thing is, Ricky is like all of us in the UK. We take the piss out of everything. We are the most self depreciating people you’ll meet on earth. It’s just how we deal with humour. If you’ve ever heard someone trying to take the piss out of England, you can bet there are 65 million people ahead of that person doing that already on this island.

Rickys humor hits the truth button on its head and many who are involved in illegal acts know who they are and they do take offense as Ricky just undressed them. They we uncomfortable because it was hitting to close to home. Do they still hire Ricky? I guess they have to, not doing so would be acknowledging he was right on the mark.
The people who host always make fun of the event and people! That's why we watch because it's funny! Ricky just happens to be the master of this sort of humor!
