I saw the movie in NY originally when it was released , this song was played towards the end credits. Meanwhile I was a huge village People fan and I thought: wait a minute , that sounds so much like a VP song. Ray Stephens - whom I met personally that year 1985 - was the third police officer singing with the VP. Indeed the writers and producers of Cat’s eye were J. Morali and Henry Belolo who produced all VP albums.
I didn't know I was under your spell I couldn't know, there was no way to tell I took a step, I slipped, I fell, I didn't know why Deep in the dark, it was too hard to see That in the night it had come over me (huh!) Just stole my soul, imprisoned me with your cat's eye! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! How you caught me unaware [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! How you hold me in your cell! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! Won't you hide, but tell me where! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! You got me spellbound! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! How you stole my breath away! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! How you tucked me night and day! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! I can never get away! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! I'm spellbound! It's like a dream, only when do I wake? Can't even scream, every breath that I take Belongs to you, what can I do? [Chorus:] Why should I try? I woke around like a boy in a trance! You pull the strings, I'm a puppet I dance! You are holding me, eternally In your cat's eye [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! Took my heart, was just a move [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! Every stare is like a hook! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! Just one look, is all it took [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! You made me spellbound! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! How you stole my breath away! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! How you tucked me night and day! [Chorus:] Cat's Eye! I can never get away! I'm Spellbound!
Lol now thats funny I thought the Troll was a pretty cool creature in the movie it was a very unique creation by Stephen King I know that is for sure like everything else he makes for his movies
First of all, i'm a cat fan 😺 from Finland 🇫🇮. Second of all, i still have this movie on DVD. And third of all, i draw my own furry comic arts 🖋️🖊️✏️🖍️. I even created my own furry comic characters, a male cat named Arttu 😺 and his girlfriend, a female cat named Pamela 😻❤️🌹. Thank you 😸😺👍, and greetings from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.
I love this song, and Cat's Eye is one of my favorite horror movies! The first two stories are written by Stephen King, but the story, General, is an an original story for the movie. Did you know that one of Stephen King's story, 'Sometimes They Come Back' was going to be in Cat's Eye?
Another great movie my little brother found, he finds all these older movies and there all pretty good, my favorite Stephen King is still Doctor sleep but this good 2
Shazam and SoundHound couldn’t identify this song. Thank goodness I found this CZcams video and you fine folks in the comments knew who the singer was.
I've loved this movie since I was a kid. We had a writing project for my English class during the seventh grade. I basically copied the General story from this film but tweaked it a bit.
use to dance to this as a little baby, would stand next to the giant stereo with those giant headphones on and just dance like crazy to it and then cry when it was over until someone rewinded it
I remember watching this movie and seeing if I could spot any toys from my childhood. All I saw was a Shirt Tails balloon; a show I never encountered back then.
I may be stating the obvious but I just want to add yes General is definitely a hero, but it's also pretty smart I mean look at how easily it was for him to turn on that record player to spin that troll around to trap and kill him. I've had cats as pets in the past too, so I know how smart they can be. Smart protective but in the right circumstances they can also be a riot!
Back when Soundtracks stood the test of time ⏲️ 😪 and still do to this day, please take me BACK to the 80s FOREVER and leave me there 🙏 😢 P.S. I Love Cats 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️ 🌹⭐️✔️
I first saw this movie when I was a Kid, In the UK back in the 90's when BBC used to do their horror double bills presented by Dr terror this was paired with April Fools Day (Not a bad double bill).
If anything this song should be the theme for light-year movie sidekick sox or just a toy version staring at the camrecorder with this song playing here that would be so adorable especially the movie cats eyes is a tabby cat and sox is a orange tabby cat would go perfect
Same, I was barely 3 when it was new in 85 but by the time I was 5 i had the Vhs, the OST soundtrack and the laserdisc. Still have all that stuff at nearly 41 except now I have the DVD and an original 1985 theatrical release poster as well.
I hate admitting this, but aside from the final segment and the title song, this wasn't a favorite Stephen King movie of mine, and there's very few that I didn't like or didn't care much for. The above said elements made the first 2 stories worth sitting thru, even though Quitter's Inc was oddly better because of Alan King and James Woods, as opposed to The Ledge, even though Robert Hays almost saved that one for me. I love the interaction between the cat 😺 and Drew Barrymore/ Amanda, even though her parents were understandably skeptical about the 'monster' / troll ....at first. Spoiler Alert!!! The final fight between General and the troll was kinda funny and almost cute moreso b c of General's fighting methods, I can't / couldn't really empathize w/ the troll at all b c, well, just watch the movie if you haven't already, the reasons are made pretty clear! Later folks, but sorry for the tangent.

Minessss too! 😺😺😺😺😺😺😺
Unusual that a cat should be shown as a protector or saviour. That’s usually a dog’s duty.
@@FromtheHerts81 A dog it's not in the mistycal situations.
@@selvinzamora427 Do they not have second sight like cats do.
What a damn good song!
Like all movies from the 80's i grew up with, all I can think about is how every dog and cat are dead now. RIP General
All tabby cats are heroes!!
Je comfirme
Every movie needs a song that references the film in the lyrics and is also named after the movie.
This is probably the catchiest song I had ever heard.. it's not even my style of music but I love this

The troll dislikes this track because Quitters Inc. stuck him in the cat room with it playing on repeat.
And Leprechaun too.
Along side Drew and the Cat Ray Stephens song are the stars of this film Great job!!!

Gives me a good reason to love cats
Man i love this Movie ♥️♥️♥️ It's forever in my top 10😘 And this Song is absolute perfect when the End Credits come 😻😻😻
Just recently learned this song was sung by the late Ray Stephens (Roy from The Great Space Coaster).
It makes me sad that more people don’t know about this song or movie
Just having a beer while listening to this which I done many times
I'll always love this song!
Spotify needs to add this song. I love it

I've also loved this song since then! It's so cool to see it posted on youtube in good quality. RIP Ray Stevens
I had a cat that looked just like General, I miss him.
I used to watch Cat's Eye after the ending music when I was 15 for the first time since my parent won't let me watch movies in the mid-90s.
use to dance to this as a little baby, would stand next to the giant stereo with those giant headphones on and just dance like crazy to it and then cry when it was over until someone rewinded it

Hey, do people know that Coujo & Christine have a cameo at the beginning of the movie
Is it me or is this song not included on eather cd release of this Soundtrack. This song needs a cd release.
It is played during the end credits though.
This song is like an anthem for cat lovers,
