Very nice tactics, can't believe how fast you got St Lo and some of the other objectives. I'm playing the campaign on Classic level and although I did get all objectives except St Lo on my first try, it took until there were 3 turns left. At that point a huge German counterattack with all tanks took back Pegasus bridge and Caen and I was too weak to reclaim them. I will give this plan a try and see if a faster finish will avoid those German reinforcements. Thank you for doing this wonderful series.
Not sure if they tweaked the AI, but the second paratrooper drop by Caen gets wiped out by repeated attacks in my latest playthroughs.
I've attempted this strategy multiple times now and have discovered that it does not work as shown. Maybe a patch has updated AI tactics, but I cannot seem to replicate these results. Tactically, everything suggested makes decent sense and I still recommend the video for players looking for some insight into the game. Note that I tried this on EASY mode... not sure if that makes a difference. Cheers!
That is strange. I do all my guides for normal difficulty. So it should work.
Now it should be easier on easy mode (since the guide was made for normal mode) so I am bit surprised that it doesn't work. Strange. The only thing I could recommend is then to maybe watch some lets play of some other people and maybe try what they do.
What are your thoughts on higher difficulty levels? Starting with classic the 3rd paratroop must be dropped on Carentan to make it turn 1.
For some reason it won't let me drop british airborne onto pegasus bridge (or really anywhere near it).
No weather effects.
@@k.r.5400 Do you have other troops close enough? Did you first move with the naval troops and then with the plane? The order matters here.

History mode sux rear sides. Half the time we donno what the chances of attack are, where reinforcements go, what happened on the supply route etc... You do such a great job on live commentary, why not walk through with it?
Yeah many of the future ones are back in the normal mode XD
I dont even get the option to drop my para's in those locations
You need to land troops first, they need to drop within 6 hexes of a friendly unit IIRC
i prefer playthrough mode for sure. hard to see what's happening in history mode. ty. :)
