One correction. The report says Charles would "unofficially" become King upon the Queen's death. That's wrong. He became King the moment she died. He didn't have to wait for any ceremony. The Queen was Queen for 70 years, starting the moment her father died, even though her coronation took place the following year. Charles is King now - "officially".

I'm currently writing this from Ireland. I was just sitting on the sofa in pouring rain and mild thunder. I had Sky News on for updates. It went silent and the message on the bottom went from red to purple. I knew something was wrong. Then it said it. "Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has died". I was shocked. My country has been independent from England for over 100 years but I was shocked. I had my hands over my mouth. One of the most important figures in British, if not world history, gone, just now. It was so much for some random young person like me to even fully comprehend. As the anthem played, I cried. History had just been made. Right infront of me. The whole world had just changed. I sat there, crying. I am so sorry for everyone in the United Kingdom mourning their beloved Queen. I wish the best for the Royal Family, especially His Majesty King Charles. May Her Majesty Rest In Peace 🙏❤

The video was made about a year ago they just reposted it when they found out she was dying
I think the biggest inaccuracy in this video (obviously made before the event and held in reserve for this day) is the prediction that while Brits would shed a tear or two, they would not be "gut punched" by the announcement. I get the impression that many of them, even some who wanted an end to monarchy, have been far more deeply affected than they expected. At some level, I don't think the British people quite "believed" that this day would ever come. She was as much a fixture of the universe they have always known as the sun and the moon. With her mother having lived to 101, it was realistic to think that at least it might not have come for several years yet. As an American, I can only guess at what this is like for a British person, but I offer my condolences to all who mourn her.

The Queen had been in her role for 70 years which in itself is amazing. She oversaw a change from wartime Britain to modern Britain. Many people in the UK had only known of Elizabeth as monarch so it's a new day with King Charles on the throne. Despite her death being far from unexpected--at 96 there are no minor illnesses and the clock is inevitably ticking down--it was still a shock to me when they announcement came. I am not ashamed to say that a tear came to the eye of this 62 year old, stoical (not to say, thick-skinned) man. When I called home to check with my wife and son they reported that both had been sobbing for 30 minutes, their distress by no means lightened by a call from my mother-in-law, similarly distressed and being comforted by neighbours.

One mistake - Queen Elisabeth II. was not the longest reign monarch in the world - 70 years. Louis XIV. for example reigned for 72 years.
She was the longest ACTIVELY reigning monarch (the part that matters most, I would say). Louis had a regent until adulthood. He might have been king (in technical terms) for the longest amount of time. But the Queen was the one who actively did her duties, for the longest period.

For clarification; London Bridge and Tower Bridge (which was shown in the images) are two entirely different bridges. Tower Bridge is the world-famous landmark of London, protectorate of the Crown Jewels in past history, hidden from would-be invaders. London Bridge is small and unassuming but nevertheless the bridge referred to in the protocol covered in this video.

THE "iconic" London Bridge resides in Lake Havasu City, Arizona...and was moved there brick by brick starting in 1968 and ending in 1971. It stands there to this day. Now I AM aware that the history of London Bridge goes back many centuries in London, however....showing the world a picture of the modern London Bridge that was built in the iconic one's place in the 1970s wouldn't be recognizable to anyone who doesn't live in England. Using Tower Bridge instead as imagery is more recognizable to international viewers as being "in London".

Very sombre day today. Just got home from doing a couple chores. The pharmacy and shops were so quiet. No music playing in the supermarket and only the news playing in the usually very lively Greggs. I live in Edinburgh and I was going to go pay my last respects to the Queen when her body arrives at Holyrood Palace in a short while but I've decided against it. I was lucky enough to be invited to one of her famous summer Garden Parties a few years ago so I wanna keep my last memory of her as she was when I met her there. She had the most beautiful eyes, cheeky little smile and a real aura around her- extremely powerful but not at all intimidating. Making eye contact and speaking with one of the most famous and important people in the world would be enough to make even the most confident person a little nervous but somehow she would be able to completely put you at ease. No ego whatsoever, she was the type of person that loved talking to people. I've been lucky enough to see both the Queen and Prince Philip on 3 occasions and as I've said, met them once. What an extraordinary hard-working, loyal and inspiring woman. I think we're gonna see a hell of a lot of differences in this country now. Can certainly see certain parts of the UK using this as an even bigger boost to their independence plans. RIP Your Majesty 🏴💔🇬🇧👑 It's been nice seeing condolences from around the world. Been surprised at some people, the ones that are utterly anti-Royal anything, actually showing empathy to the human side of this death. I am not English but even for me it will be surreal to know there is no more Queen Elizabeth in this world, it always felt she is going to be around forever, like she is more than just a person. I literally screamed: no,no!!! And started crying.
