- I finally found the cause of the problem that made my gaming fps drop every 2-3 sec. This is Dell inspiron 3593 with intel core i5.
You much watch and listen closely to know what causing it and how i fixed it. Even if you skip a sec you could miss the important thing that matter the final FPS.

All the issues that this model has and found out that removing the plastic vent WILLNOT improve anything. Changing thermal paste will do nothing more that lowering 1-2C. There are 2 prominent issues with this model. One being the thermal throttling itself and other is voltage throttling. As you know, the maximum power consumption this laptop can take is merely 45W, from which CPU and gpu itself should takes ~35W on full load. But as other components still need to draw power, you cannot push the cpu and gpu at it's max without under volting. The mx230 can never hit it's peak frequency and the maximum thermal limit of mx230 is ~74C. To maintain this temperature gpu throttles down hugely in frequency too (in defaults). I barely doubt the low-power fan can even keep up with these loads.
The main issue is that, with this configs for cooling, this model shouldn't be meant to have external gpu or quad core cpu (because of voltage throttling), or should at least have a power draw of 60W (like other models do).
then why didn't the older inspiron models with same 45W and egpu throttle?
The problem with this specific model is neither the blocked vent or thermal paste. It's the heatsink/heat pipes itself. You can find it in dell forums too. Older models didn't have such poor heat pipes although the temps reached early 90s on full load. For this model, only after changing the whole heatsink/ heat pipe/ copper pipe, the temps came way down to 83-85 on full load without any undervolting and 45-50 on idle. The heat pipes doesn't seem to dissipate heat properly (at least this is the only working solution that a guy on reddit found)
The vents are closed to create pressure inside so that the single low powered fan can dissipate the heat outside easily. Such cooling methods are meant only for dual core cpus, not quad cores.
Bottom line: No wonder it's a cheap model for given specs as everything they used inside seems to be crap. It's not just 3000, all 5000 series too have this issue. There's no permanent fixing without changing the whole cooling system, which by some reasons seem to be bad mostly in inspiron series only. The dell vostro 3000 series with almost the same specs, design and everything except the inspiron branding has temps more than 8-10C below inspiron with less thermal and voltage throttling for egpu too.

NOTE: The Fps you see here while gaming is not as similar to that gaming session. I actually played that game at that FPS. Don't reference the FPS according to the video.

I did the same things as you did, initially I thought everything was fixed. But sometimes, I see that my CPU clock speed is not going beyond 0.5-0.9 ghz, and in the cutscenes the games lag too much.

Hello, I was doing the whole procedure but I get a blue screen when I get to minute 14:40. After a while I was able to reopen my laptop and when checking the settings I realize that everything I did until minute 10:59 was restarted.

Thanks a lot man. I followed your instructions and it fixed almost 90% of the lagging and stuttering while playing FIFA 20 in the same system. Stuttering is completely gone, just a little bit of lagging is there from time to time. Is there any way that I can improve the remaining 10% also?

I have added an external cooler. It improved the scenario but still there is some amount of lagging

I have tried undervolting and everything but my laptop gives only 15 fps on rocket league can vallheim is unplayable . Even valorant runs on low settings

Im actually using almost the same tweaks. But i use different apps (asus gpu tweak and throttlestop) i bypassed the temp limit using asus gpu tweak so i can have stability. And i limit my cpu at 2.1GHZ. with the gpu overclocked by 20mhz. I play valorant on 70fps in low settings which is kinda good.
Im also gonna add in that i can only undervolt up to 40mv on the cpu. Any more than 40 will give me BSOD which is weird even tho we have the same models. My TDP is at 25watts tho so idk if i need that to be at 15 like the max TDP u said in the video.
Does bypassing the temp limit of the gpu gives better performance without overheating the CPU?
