Link, the only reason Mr. Beast is so popular is that he gives away money. People aren't jealous of HIM, they're jealous of the people he gives the money to. You and Rhett do so much more. I love that Link said he didn't know the meaning of equanimity and Rhett explained it to him. It was such a nice moment and was not embarrassing even though we sometimes feel that way in such a situation. We should all strive to be like both of them!

I don't think they're any more hard on themselves than the common person. They simply are always striving to be better than they currently are, and that's a beautiful thing. Looking to others who you perceive as having something you don't and wanting to aspire to be more like them or attain something that they have is perfectly fine, and I'd argue it can be even a healthy aspect of self-improvement. As Bo Burnham said, they're a cultural institution. And that's why they're inspirations to us, or even people we might be jealous of.

Keep being yourselves, guys. Please. I agree with Rhett's analysis of Mythical (everything) not being on the cover of Rolling Stone. But I also believe it was a perfect explanation for why you SHOULD have been a part of a "Creators" issue. The slow steady growth, the amount of changes you've pivoted through, the creation of new channels, the acquisition of other properties, etc. Add to that the evolution of you as human beings and the honesty with which you shared all of that with us, your audience. You 100% should have been part of that issue.

Tbh I’m jealous of most people under the age of 25 who are able to afford a house. It’s weirdly specific but being under 25 and living paycheck to paycheck right out of college and seeing people be successful makes me feel like I’m falling behind

I feel like your success and body of work is so much more special and powerful compared to Mr Beast. No shade to him, but of course he’s going to have big success with giving stuff away. I’m more inspired by the community you’ve built and how dedicated fans are. You might not be giving physical stuff away but you’re giving yourselves in sharing your lives, your ideas, all the content you create, the amazing team you’ve built, recognizing Smosh as valuable and helping that channel.
They don't need to give away a million dollars through the course of a bunch of chaotic videos to get views. And I think we all appreciate that.
I whole heartedly agree with Terri Shafer. You guys give of yourselves; you expose your struggles which helps so many realize that this is normal and they themselves are not somehow flawed. The substance of what you give the Mythical beasts is like that deep massive unseen part of an iceberg.
You guys are so wrong for saying that. You think making people laugh is more important than reforestation efforts made by #teamtrees, his ocean clean ups projects, him digging clean water wells in impoverished countries, or the creation of a food bank made specifically to help end world hunger? Get over yourself. Mr. Beast is making massive efforts to help improve the planet. And you're just a salty slug in these comments. Rhett and Link are cool, but they're not making any kind of effort on that scale.

Rhett and link gave me a reason to wake up every morning when I was deathly Ill in the hospital. My GMM hoodie was 5 times to big for me and my caregiver made me a quilt out of it. I’m healthy now and I use that quilt to comfort my dog when it storms. love y’all.

I'm jealous that you both have each other. I'd love to talk to a friend like this. I'm lucky if I get a 5 minute phone call twice a year and its mostly generic small talk. Guys don't want to converse with each other like this and I feel like I'm trying too hard if I try to initiate a deep or meaningful or random conversation.
Seems like you just aren’t asserting yourself very well. Everyone nowadays is very stand-off. You must approach people with pure kindness and a big smile. You have to be willing to listen to their little talk in order to have a great conversation with them. You must have lost your sense of community. You have to build trust, you can’t just jump into crazy conversation every single time you speak. Good luck man!! Nothing sensational can replace this calm and naturally peaceful comedy you guys have created. Link… I am POSITIVE that my dad would be more than happy to let you come mow his land with the big zero turn riding mower. Hills, pasture, creeks, ponds, plenty of obstacles like trees and fences and gravel drives… and it usually takes a couple of days to mow the whole thing. 😂
This episode is really funny to me and also eye opening. I look at them and I'm jealous that they have practically everything, a good friendship, money, a loving family. And here they are listing things they wish they could have.

The emcee couldn't think of anything to say to the audience. He said he'd heard if you ask any audience whether any of them had ever been hit on by Jeff Goldblum, someone would say "yes." He posed the question to our audience: three women raised their hand. He asked each of them to tell their stories - they had all been creepily hit on by JG.
nice to see that link keeps up with hip hop these days. also i hope that you guys are able to be more creatively free and less dependent on the audience in the future. even though content like this is important for the community, we hope you know that it will be okay when you guys can grow past it and choose to create what you guys have been wanting to do for years
I think one day these two need to ween us off of them and just take a ten year hiatus to LIVE FREE it sounds like that's what they want. They chose to do this at such a young age and they never did anything else. They need to take at least 10 years to explore Rhett AND Link

I'm jealous of those who have written a song(s) that touch people. To have people come up to you and say "Your song changed my life" or "Your song got me through a tough time". That has to be a great feeling.
I am amazed that Rhett is fully in his mid 40s without having eaten at a restaurant alone. I'm happily married and have amazing friends but nothing is more self-care to me than taking myself out to restaurants lol, I do it at least once a week.
Also, Rhett should start an anonymous food blog. Or anonymous Instagram, but he would have to spread out his article over a few captions.
And intern on-location at ornithology sites if they let him, they might even give him a little thesis so he can have that "making a contribution to science" feeling if he goes in with a few ornithology uni courses under his belt AND he is able to commit 2 years.

Rhett you sell yourself short. I love Bo Burnham. Both Inside and Make Happy never fail to put me in tears. I am deeply moved by his artistry. And I have been his fan for a lot longer than I have GMM. But Rhett and Link always make it into my top five artists for Spotify Wrapped, Bo Burnham isn't even on my rotation. You guys are just as talented as Bo Burnham. You're just different. Two amazing fun to read travel adventure writers: George Mahood “Free Country” he and a friend travel the length of Great Britain beginning in their underwear with no money. Amazing trip. He’s done some other terrific adventure books too. And Bill Brysons “A Walk in the Woods” about walking the Appalachian trail. Terrific humor and fun.
As someone who only can sleep 3-4 hours a night.. It’s not that I don’t need more, I just can’t get more and I am very emotionally and physically unwell because of it.
