My mom was sad she wouldn't be able to donate her organs due to chemo but the night she died a company called Sightlife in Seattle called to ask if she would have wanted to donate her corneas. It turned a terrible situation onto a happy one. She gave sight to an elderly woman in Germany and a person in Saudi Arabia
This is so wholesome. The same thing happened with my Uncle when he passed - we didn’t think he could donate anything because of chemo. Since 2019 I’ve oddly had enough of those close to me pass that I know to wait for the “cornea call” that evening. Organ donorship is such a nice way to give something inquantifiably special. ❤
@@unoriginallyemily I'm sorry to hear you've had that call multiple times! My heart is with you💓 I was extremely close with my mom and that cornea phone call saved me! It turned sad tears into happy ones! I'm an organ donor as well and it brings some peace to me knowing that I can at least donate my sight when my time comes😍

My friends parents were highschool sweethearts and have been married for around 50 years now. When they renewed their vows it was after the dad did a sabbatical and the mom did a year in hondoras for work. I always thought renewing vows was almost like after you get through the mundaneness of marriage and re-realizing that you love this person enough to propose again. Doesnt mean it ever was bad, but after kids and career, sometimes you get caught in the daily routine and want to start your retirement stage of life with fresh love

My cousin works for the Weights and Measurements department, they even measure the moisture of weed to make sure it weighs the same when it dries out slightly after being on the shelf. Re: gas station, the fines are pretty small per pump, they can scam people for a month before they are checked again and profit through the fines.
Every time I have CZcams casting to my TV, if I let whatever video I'm watching end, this video will autoplay as the second video every single time. I have heard the beginning of this video probably over 30 times now.
my favorite thing to play in these episodes is "is there a dog?" I give myself 30 minutes and then guess, and get it wrong 50 percent of the time

As someone who had an operation on my eye when I was seven, where they literally popped it out of the socket to tighten the muscles behind (lazy eye) I need someone to inform Rhett and Link that they very much do not need to break your eye socket to get the eyeball out 😅 you can pop it out relatively easy actually

I appreciate their negative view of influencers. While the writers certainly try and weasel that stuff into normal gmm episodes, its nice to know they'd rather not be viewed like that
They are in the original sense before it became a curseword. They encourage people to be their weird selves, to follow their own project instead of doing a safe job, show them that you can be famous without losing it, and teach men about the importance of close friendship vs superficial boys' club.
But they let people choose and don't fake their image.

I do comic book coloring, lettering (putting the text in the bubbles, drawing the speech boxes/bubbles and sound effects) and title logo design. Primarily lettering. Have for the last 12 years, even worked third party for Marvel at one point... I still don't know how to answer the question "what do you do for a living" in a quick way.
I've said "I'm a comic artist" (which is true, but doesn't feel right since I don't do the ink work), "I'm a letterer" (but no one knows what that means), "I'm a graphic designer" (most people seem to think that means you're either self employed or jobless). No winning in some cases, so I get the issue with labels, lol.

The visual setup makes it seem like they’re doing this remotely rather than sitting right next to each other. There’s an intimacy that’s missing for me. Kind of like the show, there’s a lot to be said for having both of them in the frame at once

I think this is purposeful. If any of them decided to move anywhere else, building background to make an individual setup that will colerate with this enables them to create illusion they are together. Rather than having separate backgrounds and abviously be appart. Rhett was mentioning building a house in South Carolina? Who knows!

The weirdest job I ever heard about so far was canonization lawyer in the Vatican. Yes, they legally document and notarize canonization processes. Including evidence for saintness.
Hey rhett! My hubby and I renewed our vows on our 15th anniversary . You said you felt people did it because people were having issues. For us that was farthest from the truth. We are in love as much today as we were on day one. This past March 7th we celebrated 31 years. ❤

Weights and Measures are also responsible for checking all scales no matter how big or small in the manufacturing industry. At least in the plastics recycling and finished good part. Every scale had to be tested throughout the facility from receiving, to manufacturing, to laboratory, to outgoing mail for small samples. It's part of keeping your ISO coordination credentials which is pertinent for not only domestic sales but also overseas sales.

I’m not an “enucleator” but I’m a Veterinarian who has enucleated quite a few eyes (in dogs and cats). There is no vacuum. Just a scalpel and scissors lol. I’ve never done it for transplant (Or human medicine 😂) though, just damaged/problematic eyes that are not needed after removal.

Yeah it's all relative. $25 to someone making half to a third of that is a lot per hour. But someone making way more would think it's peanuts. I'd like that much per hour lol. I used to make $10 now I make almost $18 and my quality of life between the two has changed drastically

A former grocery/gas employee (management) and someone with a Link personality: those weight guys have so many cool gadgets! They have little baby weights in these briefcases and it's fascinating to watch. They legally have to come around and test at minimum once a year unless something has been reported, then they come to do a "surprise" check.
Some people don't get to have a wedding and maybe at some point in their life they are able to do afford a ceremony. I think it is messed up to assume that everyone who wants to do another ceremony just has a messed up relationship.

A weird good paying job in my country is a person who make mouth celebratory noises in weddings ( ululation ). The person is hired for big wedding and they also can take care of the overall scenting the venue and making sure the place smells good at all times during the wedding. ( wedding in kuwait are usually from 8pm -1 am )

I’ve been severely lactose intolerant my entire life so don’t really understand the cheese thing but I do get tastegasms. My go to for it is really, really good sushi. There’s one specific little sushi counter at this Japanese grocery I used to live near and their yellowtail and onion roll especially, my gosh, it’s close your eyes and moan good.
I also find it happens from time to time with really great restaurunts or home cooked stuff- whether it’s something I’ve made or someone else. I’m totally blanking on a specific example but it seems to be less a specific food and more a taste, freshness, texture, even food temperature thing where everything is just so dang right. But sushi, really fresh and those simple but well made rolls. That’ll hit the spot every time.

I believe vow renewal is not a sign of something wrong at all. As humans, we are ever-growing and ever-changing. My vow today may not be fitting 10 yrs from now. I think it shows more of a commitment to your partner. It shows that you both are willing to grow and change together. Plus, you can have a fun party every so odd years if you choose.
