Second of all, I am not calling HER out, I'm calling out the lack of security. There was no one there to stop her from getting up onto that runway, and no one took her off until Gigi stepped in. That's the problem. What if hadn't been some "comedian"? What if it was a stalker, or a gunman, or someone who wanted to cause real problems. There was NO SECURITY. That's the problem.
And side note, this was not a comedy show, it was a fashion show. How would you feel if someone started making fun of what you did at your job while you were working? Would it still be comedy?

I think the point of her doing that was to mock the importance we give to what is literally a bunch of unpaid/badly paid people walking in expensive clothes in front of rich ppl. Dont get me wrong, i love fashion and the art behind it (like im studying it lol), i know being a model is a real job. What i mean is that its still an industry, exploiting ppl, and when you thing about the concept of runway shows and luxury industry its kinda weird. Ie: some shows settings costed 300 000€, most models werent paid, the sewers were on minimum wages and couldnt watch the show that wouldnt even exist without her. Whether we like it or not, its hard not to admit theres something deeply wrong and superficial w the concept. All of this could be organised in a different way, that would pay tribute to ppl making the dream come true (models, sewers, etc). To my opinion gigis reaction is the one i laugh about the most, bc she didnt have to fight much to get in that position and i find it hard to praise her that much (aaand shes probably the one model to get paid for that so yeah really im not going to praise her even though i respect her)

@@lupita097 no fr some of them are but not all (like the "big faces" will get paid). In Europe, most of the time, either theyre underpaid either they get something from the brand. In the us its more common theyd just get stuff (as you can see i didnt say they werent paid all the time). I could be wrong ofc (were talking about tendencies), but many testimonies + a whole thesis about the jobs in the industry actually said that (go check out "le plus beau métier du monde"). Thats the exact paradoxe of the fashion industry : it produces tons of money but relies on underpaid/free work. I didnt know that neither. I suppose itd be hard for models to get vocal about it since they depend on these jobs and the competition to get there is tough (so basically : you can complain but theyll find someone else whos willing to do the sacrifice). Anyway i could be wrong but to my opinion its way too glamourised and thats why we dont want to see the dark side of it (aka exploitation)

Some designers would consider its a privilege for models to do their runways, justifying the models "should be thankfull" already, which reinforces that vicious circle of dont complain if youre underpaid/ just get some chanel make up lol. The jackpot for models would be to work for campaigns. Which is only accessible to big faces (who had to give a lot to get there) or "nepo babies" (sorry for gigi and no disrespect for her work and her as a person but shes one of them). Anyway
