The "misplay" on the Smuggler's hexproof was hilarious because it caught you completely by surprise (hehe) and also was completely irrelevant since you are probably always playing smugglers there anyway.
I do think Smuggler's seems really solid in the Golgari/Jund shell but I feel like Calamity just is too inconsistent, at least for the time being.
I've been playing this deck a bit since it was on Ashlizzle's channel, and honestly... Gitrog is MVP, half the time. Calamity half the time, they wait until you saddle, then kill it. Gitrog, if saddled is great, but even if you don't have something to saddle with, a 6/5 trample with haste to the face is usually pretty good on his own.
I play 4 showdowns so I have been destroying smugglers they made it to counter it perfectly
'Jund' and 'Ramp' are my two favorite words in magic, right behind the phrase: 'Can't be countered'
I was using a gruul version to try an make calamity work but ashlizzle got me trying the jund version an I must say the jund version is far more efficient. maybe less flashy an cool, but it still has the wins out of nowhere that you love to get with calamity. so calamity jund is the one for me
Have you ever saddled a Gitrog with a Vaultborn Tyrant, while you have a Vein Ripper in play? It's fun.
@@jdgarrison9913 No, I don't have any gitrog's sadly, But I've done just about everything else, Calamity copied a vault born while I had a brawler and terror of the peaks on board before. I've calamity copied a vein ripper just it self tends to be game most of the time. I dont got all the pieces necessary for this exact build, im missing 2 outcasters an the gitrogs but I found running some removal in the places of those don't effect the overall deck too much. so I still have plenty of fun with it :)
Perhaps it is better however personally i still find the gruul version way more fun though, since its more focused and build around calamity.
@@jhozthron4415 Awesome man, I mean with Calamity, as long as you can pull it off, doesn't really matter what color combo you going with, it's hard not to have some kinda fun with calamity lol

What do you guys think of this sort of deck but in a 'deserts' shell, with stomper and trailblazer removed, and replaced with Greenblade and Lookout? I'm lacking in the slow lands for Jund so I figured I'd try it like that.

Given your play quality on stream vs competitively, I think you should strongly consider playing this deck, maybe with a few tweaks, at upcoming standard events you'd like to win.
18:37 - if you're putting them on Emperor your stomper wasn't safe attacking. They could block with Gix and give it +1/+1 with first strike. Luckily they didn't have it though

why are there no decklists last 2 videos?
That last game was brutal, you had 11 lands in play, 1 in hand and a couple in graveyard and the opponent had 3 in play.....so bad....where were the spells!
Played this same deck in BO3, and the matchmaker absolutely favours boros deck without fail.
