For me personally its a bit of everything. The lyrics are a story told from the perspective of a soldier who doesnt really wanna fight (a reluctant hero if you will) at the end of their life, having lost everything in war, and the only thing they can do before they die is call out the name of their lover. They reminisce about all the good times they had with their lover, and resent the disaster that brought them away from them. Its such a HUMAN story to me because we can all feel the pain of losing everything like that, you dont really need to have had any specific experience to relate. Then you put it all on top of a wonderfully crafted score and it just cuts you so deep and man... I cry every time

you should consider adding Omake pfadlib, its a REALLY good song. It was used during levis OVA, mikasas backstory, when the scouts returned from the expedition in season 1 and during the whole eren historia and rod reiss thing back in season 3.
