Interesting and informative to touch on places like Stoneybatter' that are kind of off the radar of most visitors to Dublin city proper. Although within walking distance of the City Centre, these enclaves often have a 'village feel' and have their own unique character. And of course it's where actual Dublin people live! (You could include Harold's Cross, Rathmines, Ranelagh, on the South Side and places like Drumcondra on the North Side..) Nowadays, these places, as you can tell by the house prices, are kind of 'gentrified' now but that brings advantages in terms of local and artizan businesses you find. And, especially compared to the City proper, some of the older pubs and boozers really have that 'local pub' quality where local people are happy to chat to visitors and tell one about the area, if you ask. Great and slightly 'off the beaten track' content from Keith as usual. xx SF
Mad prices for that area Keith but so much has changed in Dublin now over the past 30 years I didn't recognise the city at all now things have changed so much ❤
