Have a 1987 Zinno red 525e in a similar condition to this and they really are a superb classic. So nice to drive, stylish and practical for family days out etc :)

    These are brilliant cars.
A bit overlooked, as everyone seems to be after an E30 nowadays.
I like the E28 better, it has got more of an old skool look, its design leaning heavily on the E12 predecessor.
They actually share the same doors.
I own a 525i myself, with the indestructible M30 engine.
    Love it to bits!💕

When i sold cars in the 80s we always had a couple of choice 5s and 3s lurking amongst our used car section. There was always a fight if one came in with a bit of tax still on it...

A trip down memory lane indeed . One of my customers used (and abused!) a number of these as taxi's as well as 7 series . The cars had to be immaculate and l was constantly repairing body damage . He was a great chap but always wanted champagne on beer money ! Thanks

About 7 or 8 years ago I was offered a 1987 M5 for £800 that was missing a front bumper and some minor mechanical issues but I couldn't get the cash a the time and he sold it to some local bloke. It must be worth a few quid now. 😥
