- Being dragged 100 miles off course without good reason I find myself kicking up dirt and drifting (badly) on a dirt road toward some godforsaken lumber depot or something. This is a good chance for me to put my rally driving skills to the test, damaging the heck out of my truck in the process.

Hi Colonel, BACK SEAT DRIVER ALERT , IRL I punched one of these across Europe for a few hundred thousand miles . Even the auto g/box only uses 6th, 9th, & 12th.without a trailer, try it and you will accelerate like a rocket
This is actual valuable guidance.
*Wants to emulate Colin McRae* *Proceeds to emulate the early part of Colin's career when he was known as Colin McCrash*

Colonel Failure 2024
What does that even mean?!! 😂

It's not a CF video without an Aliens quote...

From Aliens to Ear hair in a single breath... Impressive!!
Conflating Ken Block and Peter Brock was pretty wonderful
The GPS absolutely will redirect you once you deviate from the blocked off path. If your exit is closed off, simply pass it on the highway, and the GPS will redirect you to the next exit. It may not always be the best path, but it will do so. If you absolutely hate detours, you can go into your settings and reduce the frequency to whatever you like, even completely disable them if you want.
Legit mind loss .. and then some .. actual valuable guidance (Backs Eat Driveller Ale RT influmation, too late for yesterday, but in time for tomorrow's Failure). Huzzah! ;o)
I remember a TV show from when I was a child, with a guy called "Roy Black" (although I very much doubt it was his real name) it was called "Ein Schloß am Wörthersee" (a castle at the Wörth lake) it was one of those shows made for old women and I think I mainly watched it because it annoyed my parents. I still got the intro tune stuck in my head. That's all my knowledge about the Wörthersee and now I even know that it's in Austria. Nice. Videotronic Edutainment galore!
So the lesson is, be nice to your parents or you will end up with an endless loop of annoying TV theme song in your head.
Edit: I knew it! His real name was Gerhard Höllerich. And I don't blame him for that.
I got your Viagra Boys reference, very good!
could you make a trip to Port Vendre? it's on the border between France and Spain... I have fond memories of visiting there in the late 80's. Thanks.
If it looks doable, certainly.
I'm American everywhere except the bathroom. Then I'm European.

Colonel Failure 2024
Outstanding episode

Colonel Failure, sliding Trucks since 2024
10 Grand of damage... More like 100 Grand...lol
Actually the industrial port of venice kinda looks like this, no canals😅
Colonel Boten!
Hope you have time for a Cornetto whilst in Venice. Just one, though...
Time for a disappointing Venician Venison sandwich and a packet of crisps...
In the local Tescorio
i prefer to drive as fast as possible and run as many red lights as possible and turn off police fines ... if the truck doesn't go very fast look for speed limiter somewhere in one of the main options categories ... turn it off then you can go about 135km / h.
A mod i use for Ai traffic which now i can not play the game without it is Real Traffic Density ETS2 on the steam workshop and another one for slow traffic i.e tractors etc is Slow Traffic Vehicles. also on the steam workshop + i use jazzycat vehicles packs as well.
Playing properly = you play the game - however you want!
Glitch in the matrix there!
A bit of insight of what may have happened: the job offers have expiry timers. If you choose a job with the pickup a bit further away, it can happen that the timer runs out before you get there. Pay attention to how soon the offers expire.
Keep watching.
@@colonelfailurewell if you twist my arm. may I have an adult beverage whilst you drive?

@@colonelfailure Oh well, at least we got some Colin McRae rally action. :)
😎
I think your satnav gets confused when you choose a job that starts in the depot you're already in - so instead of getting you to the load, it's assuming you're ready to go on the job...
Its not that its just taking him to a job out of town, hence the long drive
@@benrgrogan Yeah, you can order the job market to search for areas in the town/city you're in. That way you aren't wasting time and gas driving to another job which might expire before you get there if you're not careful. Especially if you are playing with fatigue. You might need to sleep before or after you get there.
@brosert I don't think it was quite the same depot - if you look at the end of the last video - the job was in another depot right across the road from the last dropoff - you can see the flashing symbol behind the gate.
Thanks for another sce video colonel, something thst have been slightly bothering me for rhe past few episodes, you are in continental Eurupe and the road side sides are in KPH why is you satnav still on MPH, it just makes things more annoying for you. And allso First post, I finnaly made it
The Colonel addressed this in episode 1 or 2... I'm 99% sure it was 1, but 1% of my brain is niggling at 2...
That would only be relevant if the Colonel ever bothered to look at the road signs, but that just isn't how he plays!
Don't look at road signs, they show speed limits for cars. Trucks have different limits, the ones displayed in satnav are correct.
@@MravacKid Absolutely correct. Trucks are speed limit governed so that they can't exceed 56MPH in Europe. I have no idea what that is in KPH, somewhere around 80ish. The only place that doesn't apply is on the Autobahn in Germany.
@@MravacKid this too
