Not only that, geshu is an absurd monster in terms of raw power, Rover an Jiyan fought the threnodian without 100% power and almost lost, geshu fought, probably alone, fully awakened and it sems he won, or something close to this

Kinda feeling bad for Geshu Lin now. I thought he was just a power hungry general that didnt care about his soldiers if it meant ending the threat for peace. Jiyan did what he thought was best, but it seems even retreating earlier would have made no difference.

Basically, yeah. It was a master stroke tbh. Pin the blame on the (presumably) dead guy. Raise up a new hero to stave off the loss of morale from losing Genshu.
Then Geshu returns with Vengence. Perfect 1.1 story material.

I honestly think he should’ve told everyone to run and he’ll stay behind and take care of it since he one shotted the boss
Hindsight is 20/20. He probably wanted to eliminate all traces, since any rogue TD would have been able to harm a citizen in the future. Also, nobody knew at this point that a Threnodian would affect the Retroact Rain phantoms the way that it did, not that anybody had much information on RR to begin with.
