    This was fantastic! All three of you are so good. Also it is really nice that you share the photographs from the shoot - it is fascinating to see how everyone approached the same subjects so differently. Please keep making these, it is as instructive as it is engaging. Cheers!

    Again, another inspiring and hands on video. When I feel a little lazy on weekends after a long week's work, I watch your videos to push me to get out there. There have been times when I've returned home extremely glad that I got at least one good keeper. If it wasn't for Spyros, I would have had zero! lol!

    Love your videos! Just a simple question, around minute 19 you point at your hand and do a exposure metering, what exactly are you doing? How do you get the speed, aperture and ISO by focusing on your hand?

    • @SpyrosPapaspyropoulos
      @SpyrosPapaspyropoulos Před 8 lety

      +yklus hello. I choose the shutter speed I want to use, e.g. 1/500th, then I set my aperture to where I want, let's say f8 and my ISO to a sensitivity of 1600 for example. I let meter of my hand and see if my exposure is ok. If not, I adjust my ISO accordingly. If I need to do more adjustments, I change my Shutter speed, etc. I repeat until I have got a good exposure. Thanks!

    Spyros.... I just want to tell you how much your videos mean to me. I love street photography and have been doing it for about a year and a half. I live in the US and cannot travel, so you bring me the world with these videos - special thanks to Cosyspeed for making it possible! I have learned so much from your videos - they make me braver on the street! I live the midwestern USA, and people don't 'live' in the streets like they do in other parts of the world, so I am jealous of your opportunities - but enjoy coming along with you, too. I especially liked the photos of the children in the damaged area - so worth documenting. Bless you and what you do and thank you so very much!

    I really enjoyed the pictures you took. I loved the photo early on when you dropped your shutter to 1/4 and shot the street vendor. Is the Fuji WCL100 the same focal length that you're using?

    • @SpyrosPapaspyropoulos
      @SpyrosPapaspyropoulos Před 8 lety

      +Abraham Dakin thank you for watching! Glad you liked the vendor shot. As for your question, yes, the XF18mm is the same focal length as the X100 wide angle conversion glass. Did you find that focal length interesting?

    • @AbrahamDakin
      @AbrahamDakin Před 8 lety +1

      +Spyros Papaspyropoulos I did. I own the X100 but wasn't sure whether the converter was a worthy purchase - but I enjoyed the perspective in your photos. May I ask - did you use a Fuji preset in the photos? I figure Istanbul has nice colours anyway, but they look beaut!

    Spyros - Another FANTASTIC Street Hunt. This is one of my favorite SH's for sure. WOW those pix of the kids in the ruins, that was worth the price of admission / the trip for sure. So sad. Made me cry. Its also sad we cant shoot kits playing here in the USA without getting called in to the cops. You got a lot of keepers on this one. Great job. Im sure it was helpful to have the 2 guides to take you to the best places. Keep up the great work. Cheers!

      Many thanks mate! Yes photographing kids without getting worried about "society" behavior was such a change for me and it felt so liberating. Kids are a major part of the streets and documenting them is just as important as documenting adults. As for having two guides, that was so cool! Both Kerem and Forrest are awesome guys that really know their way around Istanbul. I was so lucky.

    • @SpyrosPapaspyropoulos
      @SpyrosPapaspyropoulos Před 8 lety

      +Der Xer thank you for taking the time to watch the *Street Hunt 16 - Istanbul* :-)
      As for your question, I meter on the palm of my hand so I get a close to normal reading. I just point it to my hand and expose as I would on a grey card, but because I don't carry a grey card, the hand is just fine, especially for Street Photography purposes.

    • @SLVRphoto
      @SLVRphoto Před 8 lety +2

      +Spyros Papaspyropoulos Exactly, I just typed out the same and had to delete. He is essentially putting his skin tones in zone 5. Which gives him the most detail from white white to black black.

    • @sjsphotog
      @sjsphotog Před 8 lety +1

      +Der Xer The hand is slightly brighter than 18% grey card but since he is shooting people in most of his shots its better to expose for skin tones than metering on the overall average scene since a lot of stuff its surrounded by dark archways.

    Hi my Friend! Great Video with a lot of impressions!!!
    Maybe Auto Aperture and Auto ISO up to 3200 was more comfortable i think from my Experience!
    Change the settings cost some time and maybe good situations ;)
    So my friend, thank you for this video and all the best for you!!!
    PS: Spyros did you only had the 18mm for the Pro1? So i think in some Situations in your Video that a 23mm or higher focal length was better, because you get not close enough to the person so maybe 23mm gets better for you? Or a second Camera with higher focal length.... That is no critique, thats a feeling i get when i see youre photography style :)

    Nice video. I like your style. But that wind noise near the beginning was pretty annoying, but there should be an easy way to avoid it in the future. I've seen somebody on youtube intro a piece of fur that you can buy to just stick on the mic and that takes away most of the wind noise. You can probably make it yourself easily.

      +Spyros Papaspyropoulos Its called a "dead cat" since thats what it looks like. They have ones for all different types of mics. This is just one example. Hopefully they have a mini one for your Sony Action cam? www.amazon.com/Movo-WS4-Microphone-Windscreen-Microphones/dp/B00MYG0B20/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1442647701&sr=8-2&keywords=dead+cat

    I love your video but I got dizziness, because of that shaking video. You'd better shot video with a stabilizer.

Once we get more funding and we are able to invest in new and better gear, we hope the quality of our videos will improve too. Hello, lm street photographer in İstanbul also but when l watch your video l was in shock. Because what you are doing ıs not a street photography, its unbelivable. you take photos of people without permission and disturbing them. Look at 01.30 and 45:00 omg how can you take photos like that ? l do take photos of people and then show them the photo if they dont like l delete the photo near them. But you totally forced that woman in 45:00 . Guys its not the street photography. You can rape to peoples private life when they even dont know and you share their photos here. God bless you !!

      @SpyrosPapaspyropoulos Před 8 lety +2

      +Yılmaz Ünlü I am sorry you see it that way. Street photography has no definition and there are no strict rules on how to do it. It is simply shooting photography in the street. As far as your comments concerning "raping private lives", not only is a very serious comment which I do not like at all to be honest, but as far as shooting people in the streets is concerned, if they are in a public area a photographer can shoot them. In other words being in public removes any right to privacy from being photographed. For me and for many other street photographers it is all about getting the moment, a candid moment not posed photos. Shooting posed portraits with permission as far as I am concerned is portrait photography in the street. It is a small part of street photography but not the definition of it.

      Spyros Papaspyropoulos the rule is to not be a sick brain who force people to be taken in picture without respecting their human right! You are not in a #zoo ! You don’t realize what you do it #racial you took picture of this lady just because she looks exotic to you, this is #racist there are no differences between you and 19th century photographer who published picture of Arabs slaves women naked. I hope one day you will have enough knowledge of history of representation especially in colonial and post colonial photography. I feel so disgusted by you and your attitude ! You can’t even have a little bit of empathy for this people that you see like inferior to you, who you don’t even allow the right to own their own image! Poor boy not able to have a little shadow of consideration for Other! You are disgusting

    Very bad voice recording man, Its only 100$ to get good windproof microphone, you spoiled the video entry, I am sorry but we saw mostly videos while the project is photography, and honestly not that real street impressing photography results. good luck next time, really bad voice recording, wind in your microphone spoiling everything. you did it in the wrong way, specially with the woman wearing black. This was not street photography, it was tourists regular non professional photography, Dislike
