I will always look at him through the eyes of the five-year-old little girl in total amazement in my teenage years, I have the great honor of seeing him, live in person eight times perhaps the best a moments of my entire life Elvis was pure magic and you could feel his soul penetrating through your heart when he opened his mouth when he smiled or gave you a look, you knew somehow he was singing just to you. Loosing her took a huge piece of his heart I believe he never recovered from.
I was 13 when Elvis passed. It broke me. I cried every day for two weeks. I still cry. He was such a beautiful man. Inside and out. This song makes me cry every time I hear it. There will never be another, like Elvis. He was truly one of a kind.
I miss those days. There will never be an entertainer like Elvis again.

Cindy...you are in 'your element'(as they say)...when you are reacting to Elvis....the fellow working next to me in dispatching at the Memphis Fire Dept. on 8/16/1977...got a call from Graceland, saying they needed an ambulance stat...about an hour later they said they were transporting to Baptist Hosp...within a couple of hours we were getting calls from around the world...wanting particulars...sad day for Memphis...

So bittersweet and yet so beautiful. We all have regrets in our life. He sings his emotions out until you’re so caught up with his emotions that you feel it and start to react to his singing with such soul it’s unbelievable. What a great talk he was and is. ❤️🕺🏻🕺🏻🎸

Yes indeed he did and she him. She never married Marco and Elvis had no intentions of marrying Ginger Period. Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was 17 yrs old. I won a radio show contest and the prize was a day with Elvis but our friendship lasted past that one day in time. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. i saw him a few weeks before he passed we had a short conversation which i will never share again because people are so nasty and comment hurtful heart breaking things they do not know me but they still can't keep their mouths closed about things they know nothing about. I walk past Graceland everyday. love from the one and only Memphis Tn.
I had never believed it when my professor in college, both a musicologist and professional symphony musician, himself, told me that he viewed Elvis Presley to be the greatest overall singer of all time. "Why?," "What the hell?," so many of us said? With him first going on to ask what's Frank Sinatra's greatest and/or signature song? "My Way," someone eventually said and then the professor proceeded to show us various polls from over the years which listed Sinatra as the greatest singer ever. Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin were also on top of some, and Elvis, too, on a few. But the point of the exercise was to simply show us Sinatra was considered by many, though it's subjective, to be the greatest.
The class then listened to Sinatra's "My Way," and then Elvis' version, back to back. With the room being roughly split as to whose version was better, "which proved what I thought?" But then the professor showed us Elvis rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from the Elvis 1968 Comeback Special. With the point ultimately being that regardless of whose version of 'My Way" you preferred, Elvis was right there, totally at home playing in Sinatra's backyard for lack of better parlance.
But as to Sinatra playing in Elvis' backyard, he said, it couldn't be done, as he said "[i]magine Sinatra, (who he totally loved) trying to do that rock number?" Then going on to say that he had found no singer who had ever sang more genres, more majestically, than Elvis, & he challenged us to find out for ourselves by looking at his full catalogue of Rock, Pop, Soul, Country, Ballads, Gospel and more.
And, when done, I admit I became a convert who was so, so doubtful, at first, I can't even begin to tell you. But from rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from that Elvis 1968 Comeback Special, to singing about the dream of humanity coming together with "If I Can Dream," from the same show, I believe you will see what I mean. Elvis even had a voice that could be operatic if you go and listen to 'Hurt' and his version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" will tell you why he has also sold more gospel records than anyone, as well as just tons more, overall. But, with pop and 'Such A Night' to a ballad such as 'They Remind Me Too Much of You,' he did it all, and so, so damn well. While for soul, check out 'Long Black Limousine' or 'You're Wearin' That Loved on Look' which is a bit of another number. Because as Elvis' one album cover says, there's 'Something for Everybody.'
Also, and if ultimately you don't think Elvis is the best, that's totally cool as there really is something for everyone!;-) Great channel and I wish you the best!!! ~ Christopher Tyler

I will continue to be an Elvis Presley fan, but occasionally I also listen to music from other singers and music groups! 🎼🎙🎸

Priscilla is full of it. Elvis said this song was not about her. He was asked about it so many times that he stopped singing it Priscilla knows that Elvis had moved on. He loved her like a sister he stated. She was his friend and he went on to many other lovers.He got ocer her. She left him and left the man she left Elvis for only after a few months. She tried to go back to Elvis but he told her no.
She never married Marco and Elvis had no intentions of marrying Ginger she was the one that was full of it. Elvis loved Priscilla and Priscilla loved him always
@@p.j.morris633 I am glad Elvis told you he only loved Priscilla. My belief is he was in love with her beauty most of all. He told Larry Geller he never found his true love. He said he loved Priscilla like a sister. He said he only deeply loved twice and that was when he was young. One was June Juanico. Read her book and you will believe she was one of them.I think the other was Anita Woods (my opinion only). I believe Ginger was a challenge to him. I think he was infatuated also with her beauty. He told his very close cousin Billy Smith that he would never marry again. I believe he would not have married Ginger..my opinion. If he loved Priscilla so much why would he not have sex with her, his wife? I do not think he loved Ann Margret deeply either..just infatuated with her. If he did, he would not have buckled under Parker's pressure to marry Priscilla. His cook Nancy said Elvis cried the night before his wedding, saying he did not want to get married. Marty Lacker said Elvis tried to back out of the ceremony minutes before the ceremony. Priscilla dumped Elvis fir a much lesser man but tried to go back to Elvis after 4 months. According to court documents, Elvis testified that Priscilla asked to come back but he refused. What is yiur source that he only loved Priscilla? His cousin said Elvis loved every woman he was with. He did not love them enough to want marriage with them.
