    I’m totally aligned with this review. Mechanical buttons feel so satisfying. I will say that I too did not find the triggers in a good position for me. It is at a weird angle like that negative cambered out Scion FR-S’s. Thanks for the review you stallion 🗣💨

    Bought this controller based on reading a few reviews, Was hesitant due to the "cons" have had it for more than 18 months, for me its been great, At first was put off by the shape shell shape differences, but quickly came to love the fit, the back paddles never adapted to using them, found the 2 front map-able buttons more of a plus, being able to change the left stick to a dome and the right to a concave, for me made gaming better, The 2 small buttons on either side of the big xbox button just more thumb friendly position than the standard controller placement to me, Expensive is all relative, more than I wanted to spend but I'm glad I gave it a chance like a good pair of shoes it just fits well and has held up good, and yes hand size may be relative,

    Hey, nice review. I'm trying to choose a controller, and I'm a bit confused: why you liked the paddles in the wolverine ultimate but not in the wolverine chrome, exactly? Besides the material, are they not the same?
    Btw, I have another question. I have an issue with a dodge mechanic added to skyrim in the ultimate dodge mod. You need to change the sneak mechanic or another one (somewhat, as far as I remember) for the dodge mechanic to be able to use it. When I hear people reviewing these controllers I've got the impression that I couldn't assing the action to the new buttons, but rather reassing actions previously set by default to a sort of stock type of button display, is that right? I hope I explained myself correctly
    Thank you for your video and your time

    to whom it may concern: this is long because its a stupid amount of money for a piece of plastic. & if you work for a living, you're watching this a yr later because you're about to spend a lot of money on a corded controller. ive had mine for a yr or so now, got it with points for trading in ps4 pro at gs. (for an X), I wouldn't pay the amount they want for these. I swap regularly between this & stock. im not a "gamer", only play for a couple of hrs at a time if I can. mostly fps, Starfield, farcry etc. I agree w most of what you said. the back buttons are weird and rarely use them. the bottom ones stick out & you will hit them occasionally w your fingers. ironically they were the entire reason I bought it, however I like the top 2 buttons far more, and rarely use the rears. I like dome sticks as well and wish they included more. my favorite things about this controller is the more "bulbous" shape of the handles. I think the stock controller is ridiculously small. im about your size I think, 5'10 160 with small to average hands, & hate the stock controllers size. this is faaaar better. they force you're pinky & ring fingers further out resulting in less cramping for me. I Love the mechanical buttons. I thought it was a gimmicky marketing tactic until I played w it. now my next controller will have to have them. I initially didn't think the cable would be an issue, however ive grown to hate its guts. I play in the living room and it drags and catches on everything within a 3 ft range seemingly. I'll finally get sick of it and pick up a far inferior stock controller just to not have to deal with the cable. at full price $150 now, its eh good but too much. if on sale, lets say 60-80, its pretty damn good.

      Supposedly the ones with a yellow or green line on the box have much better QC.
      I just recently sent my og series 2 for repair (not with Microsoft) and it turns out the reason why the series 2 has so many problems is bc Microsoft uses very very low quality joysticks & bumpers. The good ones are made by ALPS and mine had some generic Chinese ones.

    I really really wanted this controller to be better because I want the additional top two buttons but I’m pretty sure Razer is the only one doing those two buttons so far.
    I play Infinite with an Elite S2 and I use paddles for face buttons but being able to throw two D-Pad buttons to the top two buttons would completely eliminate any need to take my thumbs off the sticks for anything. But it seems like those back buttons just aren’t up to par.

    I’ve bought one order on the 28th of December 2022 and got it maybe the 3 of January, first off I love it, the extra buttons and bigger controller is so nice in my hands, although I’m about to give some negatives from my experience I’d say if you got the extra cash and need another controller this is definitely something you should at least try.
    Now the only bad thing I’ve really found so far, the face buttons, specifically the letter buttons, right out of the box my “X” button was unresponsive at best maybe only registering about half the time I pressed it, and the “A” button just 2 days ago so a little over a month since I’ve started putting it to use has collapsed should I say, sometimes when I press it in it gets stuck and when I get the button back up it doesn’t want to press down again like something broke in it, the x doesn’t affect me much but I use the A almost every time I go to the Xbox menu or even just a game menu, and even though I have my a remapped to a button on the back it still feels more comfortable to use the face button any menus.
    Overall I absolutely would recommend the controller just don’t be to surprised if you have issues with the face letter buttons.

I'm shopping for a controller for my pc and I've narrowed it down to basically this or the Xbox elite 2 controller which you reviewed a couple months back. I watched a bunch of other reviews of the elite 2 and everyone seems to love it except that it breaks and i saw two other videos where the reviewer had gone through multiple elite 2's and they all had them break in about 3 months. Kinda funny coz the original warranty was 90 days, coincidence? Anyways I was just wondering how has yours held up these past couple months and will you be doing a follow up on that controller? Thanks.

    • @dhruvster10
      @dhruvster10 Před 2 lety +4

      Despite what this reviewer claims, the elite 2 is NOT a reliable and durable controller. I recently purchased one this winter after the "new and improved" batches and I can tell you rn that none of the issues have been fixed. I got major stick drift within 3 months. One of the paddles on the back is mushy and feels jammed. This is coming from someone that babies their electronics, always puts controllers in their case to avoid dust, doesn't rage or man handle their things either and still experienced the worst issues yet with a controller. The elite is a great controller when it works but when it starts to malfunction (which it most likely will) youll be stuck chasing microsoft for repairs and warranty claims. Razer has a history of making durable products for much cheaper than its competitors. Not to mention the extra two buttons near the bumpers are incredible for FPS games. Im selling my Elite and buying a V2 chroma and recommend you do the same.

  • @linkfain1

    Just got this controller tonight because my time-worn razer ultimate edition finally crapped out. Honestly, this controller is trash and a step down from the ultimate. I have large hands and the grip on this controller for me is terrible. At first you'll think "oh this is sculpted and conforms to the hand for comfortable grip" but within an hour it became painfully clear that the ends of the controller grip are little nubs that don't extend far enough for a solid grip. I find my pinky and ring fingers slipping off the ends a lot which was never a problem on my ultimate. The placement of the start/select buttons are god awful. The shoulders, bumpers, and macro buttons are awful soft plastic instead of what they used on the ultimate. The sticks are absolutely poorly designed. The removable thumbstick caps should be doing the work of increasing/decreasing the overall height of the thumbsticks. However, 99% of the thumbstick is the post the magnetic thumb caps click onto meaning the base height is uber tall. This gets in the way of my traversal from stick to A button which is a big no for me. The natural position of where my thumb wants to fall comes short of where the face buttons actually are which is very odd. The face buttons are just position ever so slightly higher which is just strange. The switches themselves are great but the travel time is horrendous compared to the ultimate's "feather touch to activate" switches. Overall, it just feels like they made this fisher price controller with cheaper parts and awkward design just to say they innovated on something. In reality, it is inferior in every way but the one saving grace being the switches. All in all I'm going to order another wolverine ultimate for sure this week since they don't carry them anymore in stores and return this monstrosity.
