Congrats on landing the sfx job for Oppenheimer 2: cold world!
Hahaha thanks. Couldnât be happier.đ
Used Photo Pro is amazing. Their physical location inside Roberts Camera in Indiana is sweet and I've bought a quite a few different items from them and have been very pleased with their descriptions. If you are ever in the area it's a must visit. I also for the heck of it had a few rolls dev and scanned while I was there and the quality was better than I expected. They are also very generous with their offers when buying equipment. Their reps travel out here to the west coast a few times a year to buy equipment at our local stores during a few local events where we have reps from all the manufacturers. They seriously care about the film community and I love to support them
Thanks amazing to hear! Everyone Iâve met there is so fantastic đ„°
Do they carry large format stuff?
@@BadFlashes Used Photo Pro is a great place to buy a camera. I bought my Canon L1 from them. A superb experience.
God i miss roberts camera!
@@michaelsherck5099 They do online and in the store. Last time I seen their rep at my local camera store he bought an 8x10 from a customer for used Photo Pro.
Another great video! Always love your work Caleb!
Thanks so much đ
Love thrusdays. Good to see a video from you today man. Inspiration as always
Appreciate it!
Just saw one of these on the Fred Miranda forum for $3,000 in great condition. I was really tempted, but I kept telling myself that I wouldn't gain much from the lens since I own the 21mm Summilux.
I mean thatâs fair!
Awesome post! I am not a Leica shooter, but I knew about the first Tri-Elmar and I thought it was a great idea. You gave this wide one a nice workout. Loved the sign photos (esp. 7:29) and the bar photos on your trip. Your Getty stuff is great too, particularly the B&W for leveraging the texture and irregularity of the blocks. Nice touch shooting the video in B&W to match. Heck, all your video is a great compliment to the stills.
That BBQ looked pretty good too, thanks for including it.
đ„° glad you enjoyed!!! Thanks for all the support đ„č
Saw Jason back on my feed and now Iâm watching a video featuring an unexpected cameo from New Caleb. My semi weekly back to back session beginsđ
Hope you enjoyed it!
Have always been curious about this lens, great review. I'm curious if you'd see more difference between focal lengths with the 28-35-50 version - don't see many of those around.
It was such a joy to use. I so want to try that other Tri-Elamr as well
This is the best compositing Iâve ever seen.
Oh sick. Thanks so much!!!
@@BadFlashes Itâs like youâre really IN that camera warehouse⊠magic.
Great video and I am about to shoot some of that BW Ferrania so nice to have an idea of how it looks. Also, did I miss where you said what color film you loaded up for the end of the video? Loved those shots as well!
no.i think I forgot to say lol
it was pro image âš
@@BadFlashes Oh okay, Have a couple rolls I'm sitting on for a sunny occasion.
Hells yeah!!!!!! It is better than expected
Great shots!! As a Leica shooter I prioritize small size that the system allows. This is a great lens, however. I have and love the 21 SEM (Super-Elmar). Itâs wicked!
I bet that one is sick.
And thanks :)
Very nice video. Thank you.
đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°
This is so cool I do my developing at UPP, the people there are so helpful
Thatâs amazing!!! Love to hear that đ„ł
what is the gadget on the top of the M6? i need to find something like that..looks awesome
The viewfinder?
Good one đ I think this combo is just made for you đ
I mean after watching the video back I kind of feel like youâre right đ
Next time you're in ABQ, think about hitting up Two Cranes and AP-T. Great food and a cute film shop. Can't believe you had that much Rudy's đ
Oh nice. Next time for sure đđŒ
And ⊠you know BBQ
4:11 as far as I can tell, you were actually in Barelas, a part of town Abq absorbed, which has also been around since before Abq. You actually got pictures of some really historic buildings, the drugstore which was a cornerstone of that community for a while (pre gentrification) and that recording studio being one of the first in NM (or so Ive heard). I love this historic ass town alot and love the shots you got. (I shoot on a pen ft and that is the most i will ever spend on a camera)
Oh awesome. Thanks for letting me know the area I was in. I just popped out :)
What size shirt do you wear Caleb? I have a shirt design idea you might like :)
Omg I bet ⊠XL
That BW getty photos are awesome! btw you should try 50s and 60s leica glasses for top-notch build quality..! (i.e., 35mm summilux v1, 35mm summicron v1, 50mm summilux v1, 21mm super angulon v1)
Oh wow I should wish. One day :)
And thanks đ
your green strap looks great, do you mind sharing where you got it from?
Clever supply
Check the description for 10% and a little kickback to yours truly đ
The shop I use to go to had a Tri Elmer but didnât buy it because I bought a Noctilux 50/1.0 with a 58mm filter size.
Thatâs a good lens toooo tho đ
Dude you were in ABQ?! Hell yeah!
I soooo way :)
@@BadFlashes damn wish Iâd known! Would have taken you to anodyne!
There even a badass camera still thatâs all film. The owner is a curmudgeon but heâs got the goods dude
I completely forgot the M8 had that 1.33 crop factor. Images were solid, but even with the more standard focal lengths with the 1.33 crop factor on the M8 the lens would be way too wide for me. Still, it's an interesting idea for a rangefinder lens. I just have trouble with 28mm being WAY too wide for me, much less the straight 16mm with this on a 35mm system.
I get that. Sometime thing can get wide wide wide đ
Lol, love the beard!
đ„°đ„łâš
I'm curious what focal length you think NM is.
Hahaha fair. Maybe like 32mm
@@BadFlashes As a resident of New Mexico (and a photographer) I'm intrigued by this almost philosophical question. Is there a focal length that best captures the essence of a place!? And what is that focal length for New Mexico? It's definitely wide, to capture the amazing sunsets and geology, so I wouldn't argue with 32mm. I'm going to have to analyze my LR catalogues and see if I can discern any patterns. I'd love to see you do a video on this topic.
That could be an interesting topic. Go through LR and let me know.
Finally.... My People Hmmmm Uma Thurman or the Tri-Elmar
Hahahahaha right
I used this lens and i hated it, the 21 f2.8 asph is way far better. Waiting for a 21mm apo f2, great video!
Thanks :) đđŒ
nice intro ;3
lol thanks. Itâs ridiculous
There is this weird Leica lens it kind of has a rod at the top of the lens. Also you can't even get a adapter for it to fit on mirrorless. Maybe you can if you cut the rod?
There is another Leica channel I think he's Japanese fellow he has that. CZcamsr GxAce I think also has this lens.
The Japanese man said the lens is amazing. Even when you take just regular photos there is something special about it. It makes even regular images good. He showed some examples and that lens is really good.
im going to have to try it
three of the sea
đ
Weird seeing my neighborhood in your video.
Ahhh really?????????
Wait. You have an M6 and fly Southwest.
Is that a good or bad thing hahaha
@@BadFlashes I donât even know. Maybe it excessively pragmatic, for the art.
We I didnât pay
Production did
Haha
Wonderful Lens, but for that price you can buy a Contax T2 AND CONTAX T3...Just Saying.....#Contaxt3Videowhen?
Hahahahahahahaha
âTrue Loveâ lol⊠two minutes later and your real man wife appears
In a good way

Mentions Ferrania bringing back color film, proceeds to swap to shooting color film and not mention what type...
Yeah I know I forgot. But itâs in the description⊠but itâs pro image
@@BadFlashes Damnit Caleb, let me have my Ferrania color film fantasy!!!

New Mexico 0 Getty 1
Getty is always 1 lol
My biggest pet peeve is when photographers show their teeth when they take a photo as you did at 4:30. Every time I tell other photographers how much I hate this, they say I am crazy and it shouldn't matter. I try to explain that our entire business is built on the premise that how things look, matters. And if we believe that, why would we show our teeth to our subjects when we take a photo? It's necessary and it doesn't take much practice to close one eye without altering the rest of your face. What's your take on this?
Boo
Hahaha I never thought about it.
No shot you got Rudyâs twice in a row đ€ź
You donât know!!??!
Haha
@@BadFlashes Iâm from Texas we gotta get you some reeeeal barbecue. Or next time ur in new Mx, thereâs Mad Jacks in Cloudcroft.
First thing on my Leica to remember is the lens cap -
Itâs amazing you can still set the f stop and focus it and everything with the lens cap totally on .. unless the gf says,
âbabe, lens cap is on ..â
Then set the lens, 21 or 35, then which finder lines !
Same with my 500cm with the 645 back on .. got it framed for square then oops !? itâs 645 stupid ..
Someday we will learn
