In 2017, Apple released 2 phones, the first of the two being the iPhone 8. While a phenomenal phone, it was kind of overshadowed at launch due to the brand new design of the iPhone X. In 2018, however, it was the best selling iPhone, and it’s still going strong, so should you still buy the iPhone 8 in 2021? Or should you go for something like the iPhone SE 2020, or an iPhone X?

I got the iphone 8 just recently, upgraded from my 6s. It was a rlly huge upgrade specially in performance and battery. Great video btw 🙌

Unless it has a new battery (and even then it's still on the small side) I find the iphone 8 to be pretty poor in it's battery life. If we talking apples to apples with 6s (cheeky pun), I guess the 8 is more efficient and so will notice better life, But both are poor imo.

Unless you want a big phone so your best choice is 8 plus.
But I would get the 8 because it has a gold variant. I mean the SE 2020 has white which is as aesthetic as it gets, but gold just hits different bruh.

I know everyone’s all iPhone as 2020 but I would rather the 8 as it wasn’t a budget model, it comes in a beautiful gold, it has white bezels which I prefer, a more sleek look.
I have the XR, but I miss my 8. It's so much lighter and hand friendly, and just as fast imo. One of the things that the XR impresses me with is that the portrait pictures are insane! Not that the 8 don't take good pictures, but it does lack portrait mode.

Removing 3D Touch and adding a bigger battery to the iPhones was always the right decision in my opinion

I’m upgrading to the 11 but the iPhone 8 has been a wonderful device and it’s good on iOS 15 so it’s still worth it although the se 2020 packs a bit more

I owned a iPhone 5s for four years, until I lost it last year January. I’ve been without a phone until January of this year when a friend of mine gave me his iPhone 8. I love it because it’s faster than my 5s, the camera is much better, the picture quality is better. Its downright all-around faster than the 5s. I will keep it until it stops supporting IOS upgrades!
I also have an Ipad that I use mainly for surfing and email.

@@nataliaaa02 it’s a pretty decent phone, I’ve had it for 2 years and the battery life now is not very good, i don’t suggest long term I’m upgrading to an 11 soon

I got the 12 a few days ago but the 8 was one of those iphones i used to always want when it came out and i know it probably holds up well cause i had the X before and their very similar and that phone was still decent

The 8 plus was my daily driver for a long time. The size was good for my big hands, performance was fast enough, and screen quality really wasn’t too bad.
Only reason I left it for the 12 base model, is because I dropped the phone behind my bed and directly broke the home button!
The cost to fix it vs the cost to upgrade was pretty much the same. So here I am, an iPhone 12 owner 🤷🏻♂️
I an personally a big fan of touch id. It is so fast and always works for me. The iphone se is my very first iphone ever and i do really like it. Great video.

I'm going from a budget android phone (redmi note 9s) to iphone 8 plus. Going back big bezzels again, as my current phone doesn't have any. But I'll probably get used to it because I really want the 8+.

I owned an iPhone 8 for 2 years and 4 months and upgraded to the 11. The 8 was glitching with its battery percentage and became slow. Also it unexpectedly shut down two times for 15 minutes. I would say buy the iPhone SE 2020 or get the XR/11.

Nah it had a 750p screen the samsung at that time had 1440p. Even the huawei p20 was miles ahead photo wise.
I used to have an iPhone 6 but got tired of the proprietary issues so I switched to Moto G7. Got tired of MG7 which is charging slowly so I decided to return to iPhone thru a used iPhone 8. Thanks for this video and I hope I can depend on the iPhone 8 for 2 to 3 years. If so, I will be very content. I do miss some of the features that come with iPhones.

I got my mini although it was an upgrade in terms of design, camera, and chip.. iPhone 8 is my favorite ever iPhone, it feels more premium in your hands especially when scrolling the screen I don't know it's a different experience plus its touch ID.

Well. I just ordered one yesterday. I dont need all New features. This one have good camera and thats what I need. I have dslr's but I have Phone always with me so it is nice to be a able to shoot some b roll everywhere I am :) I think that this is great choise if you know what you do whit it. But if you want something thats New and shiny, then keep looking. :)

so i was going to get a ipod touch and then i saw online on boost mobile which is also my carrier for phone service i have a samsung S20 but always liked and missed my ipods then saw a sale for a iphone 8 for 115.00 u.s. dollars for a 64 gb. and had to get it. just wondering if that was enough for my music library.

the battery has lasted longer than I expected too, it still has all the original hardware and it says it needs a new battery as its on 78% but I'm terrible for using it while its plugged in but I think its time for something more up-to-date.

I still like the feel of 3d touch granted, But functionality is no different to the current haptics.. As those functions that used to be custom to 3d touch have gone with recent IOS updates along with 3d touch itself on later models. The remaining 3D touch phones don't feel special anymore sadly, And sad to see the tech go altogether.
I only got an 8 in mid 2020, so I feel like I missed out and didn’t get to ever really learn what 3D touch could do for me!
Haptic is cheap, 3D touch on iP8 is a different usage experience compared to haptic touch of new iPhone models. I wish Apple would bring back this 3D touch feature to upcoming device in the next years.
Whole family made the switch to iPhone, I got the xs and got my grandma the 8. Technically only a year behind mine and she couldn’t be happier. As yes we both got gold 64gb models lol

If I were in the market for a used iPhone, I’d go for the 11 pro max. Amazing battery, OLED and rounded edges. That was my favorite iPhone of all time.

Jehann Nichole Dugenia I have an iPhone 8 also bought it in 2018. But my battery is horrible it’s needs to be charged every 2 hours. It’s battery health percentage is 77%. Could get the battery replaced but I’m thinking about an upgrade. Since it lags, my mic doesn’t work, cracks and the camera isn’t the best in low light 😮💨 Other than that, it was a good run.
