Giants, kips do count if you have no lower rated skills but since they're rated so low, the chances of an elite athlete counting them in their final 8 is zero. A kip is an a and a giant I think is a b. So if you did a routine full of kips, they would count. You have to also count the dismount in this final 8 skill so 7 kips and an A rated dismount. It would be AAAAAAAA Each one is worth 0.1 points. 0.8 start value. Another example would be 8 giants and 8 kips. Since giants are worth more than kips It would be BBBBBBBB 1.6 start value. Of course there's other things counted into a SV like connection bonus, composition requirements (worth 0.5 each, 2.0 total) but this is just the basics.
I wish she could have hit like this in the bar final. This was awesome. I had to smile when she showed that little smile after she stuck her landing. Pro!
Sara Bondi I was against Gabby being on the team only if Maddie was also on the team. Happy for Gabby, happy for Maddie, but I didn't (and still don't) see why we needed 2 bars specialists on the team. Then again, all the other needs were pretty well covered, so really it didn't make that much of a difference whether to pull two bars' specialists or one bars & one other apparatus specialist.

Gabby's routine was constructed completely differently and highlighted her own strengths, particularly her high-flying releases and beautiful stalders.

When I saw this on TV, when she flipped around and around 20 feet in the air, and then landed without even moving, I'm not even sure her eyes blinked, it was the most amazing thing I''d ever seen. lol, I glad it was Gabby that did it.

HOWEVER, let’s also not overlook the fact that, when some of her teammates began speaking out about the Nasser situation SHE ATTACKED THEM VERBALLY! She later apologized and admitted to her own experience, but when you act like that your teammates are going to feel resentment. It doesn’t excuse any bullying, but her teammates being upset with her was her own doing.
