- While I did not expect too much from this low cost bicycle lock, I must say it was still less than I hoped for. No lock made in the last decade should be this easy to jiggle open. I can only hope videos like this lead to more testing being done before new locks are sold.
Info. I found on Wikipedia shows BRG Sports, owner of Riddell football helmets, sold the Bell, Giro, C-Preme, and Blackburn brands to Vista in 2016.
Well that was a fun quick pick. Nice demonstration of the dimple jiggler. Thanks for this video, cheers
Thanks, yes, I honestly had to dig that tool out of the abyss of old tools I keep put away
Thanks for the video Al!
Another great video Big Al!
Thank you
Let's hear it for the shaky shake! Lol.. good thing we didn't expect much from that lock, but its still fun trying different techniques like the "shaky shake" 😂 thanks Big Al!
Ya I always go for SPP but trying different things is always a treat. And yes, those are the magic words, "shaky shake"
I have that Goso dimple rake but I haven't been able to find a lock it will fit into, until now. The core on that lock is alot like the Harbor Freight hitch pin locks . I saw those at Walmart too glad I didn't get one now, lol. Great video and have a great Sunday.
Ya I had to dig this tool out of the abyss. I have several junk tools I just cant toss, now I'm glad I kept it. This lock reminds me the HF also and similar to the BELL bicycle locks
Even the hard way had it open quickly. Thanks for the review on this lock. Take care my friend. Go U.S.
Ya I really don't feel like I "picked" a lock unless I do it SPP style
I recently purchased a bike from a friend and she has that exact bike lock on and the no key . Please tell me where I can find one of those wavy things that you used to open yours. Thank You 🙏
Great job bro
Thank you. Doesn't get more basic than this.
Thinking of purchasing their 12" version, with the 4' cable. Have you reviewed that one?
Notice that the $500 warranty is for "...breaking of the lock by force".
Yes, Reminds me of Master lock products in a way, built tough but not much in the way of manipulation resistance. I bet this one could take a beating, it does lock on both sides.
Just a shaky shake. Haha Thanks for the laugh...and the public service announcement about the bad lock core.
Thanks for watching Kevin. At least the price point is low
Thank you for this!!!! Now I know what not to get
Thanks for checking it out Jae. Ya I believe their much like a Bell brand. Nice to know I help people make a good choice when buying locks. We tend to take locks for granted. That’s a mistake I made for many years. Stay safe.
The Blackburn name was pretty will known (many years ago) for making bike accessories. I still have a pair of their pannier racks for my touring bike. Guess things have change over the years... I THINK I know the answer to this one but did you happen to check the shackle to see if it's hardened?
I did check it and it's not but it has no claims so I didn't make a stink about it. Perhaps I should share that anyways in future vids just to be thorough
Your good
Thank you very much. Please check out my other videos. I try to break them down into playlists to make it easier to find them.
I heard of black spur. Not a great lock but better than a cable lock anyway.
Totally agree : atrocious core but, in the UK, the D-lock is a better visual deterrent than a cable lock. And I honestly thought those Goso dimple rakes had their day because of lock manufacturers taking more care and attention of their dimple mechanisms.
Yes, I agree. Never did like cable as a chain alternative. Sad core but I bet this one can take a beating
Very fast open. 😅
🐾🐈⬛🐈🐾🇺🇸👏👏👏
Thanks Chris, the shaky shake wins again
whats the name of the tool?
That is a dimple rake commonly found in the cheap pick sets. Just look up dimple rake and you should find them. If not, contact me and I will assist any way I can
@@AlbertLebel thank you!
Hey man, can you drop the link to the wavy tool that you used to unlock it? I really could use that
I’m not sure where to get that particular tool itself but almost every super cheap lock pick set has them.
I'm old. All i have to do is find the hole and keep as steady as possible. It will open....😆
AH' the old shaky shake hands, that could work out for ya. I'm not getting any younger myself either my friend
What is the exact name of the wavey tool? And the one you turn with? 😊
Dimple rake. Tension tool.
Thanks- any recommendation of where to buy
@chasemcpheeters Far as tension tools, Sparrows lock picks. One of mine is on there called the Lebel wrench. Just click on tension tools and scroll through. The dimple rake is the tricky one because they usually come in cheap pick sets. Try and do google search and see if anyone sells them alone. I’m not sure.
witch item
Give it a little shaky shake Bada Boom Bada Bing 😆
Ah, magic words to live by. 😁
I love your shakey shake,
Watching this after I just purchased one 😒
Bad timing. My opinion is don’t use it. I think the video speaks to that.
Oh nooo
I got the one with the front rear and frame lock!
It may be better than this lock I’m glad I didn’t get this one
Not heard of them, will keep on list to stay away from.
Ya, very similar if not the same as BELL IMO
WOW! Lockpicking Lawyer only opens twice “Just to show that it wasn’t a fluke.” You went three! Now you need a catchphrase that’s similar but doesn’t violate his intellectual property. Since “Threepeat” is already taken, how about “Third time’s the charm!”?
I like the way you think my friend. It still surprises me that we can jiggle ANY lock open that was made in the last decade. I can understand picking them but this is just silly even for a cheap or affordable lock
@@AlbertLebel There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey.
John Ruskin
Ouch! That'a no good at all🙄
Ya I understand the low cost low security thing but no lock should be jiggled open like this
But is it okay against your basic punk who doesn't know how to pick locks?
Only if that basic punk lives under a rock and doesn’t have internet access. 😂🤣😂
Thieves normally look for easy targets. Personally I wouldn’t use this lock on anything but if it’s all you have, then sure, it’s better than nothing at all.
That's a trash Walmart lock 100%
Low cost low security all the way
