Not sure why all the comments are freaking out over the name Blacky. That's a pretty normal name for an animal, especially one with black fur. Yeah it would be offensive if you said it to a human, but so would a lot of things.

Because humans have ruined pretty much everything and it's baked into the culture now. Certain demographics are low hanging fruit for making names for, it's one of the first things kids learn to do on the Internet.
So one sees a name like this and it immediately triggers a response one way or another

Oh, so the cat god is Umbreon. Cool.... I'm not kidding. The Japanese name for Umbreon is blacky. So, it's not uncommon for a translation name. Still, this game is pretty neat in concept.
Looking at the first screen, I believed that game was Cat Goo.
Also at 4:10, he knew easily influenced kids among us needed a lil biology leason here.

Maybe he can use the name of the game as part of his title instead? I feel like he could learn some lessons from his friend Retromation on titles and thumbnails, instead of worrying about "New Roguelike" word salad to trigger search engines.
I think the sand makes animals that that have a countdown timer -1 turn to the timer (so one turn faster) and assume the other one is 'for animals that evolve on a timer' like chicks, there is a 15% chance to evolve right then.

Before you said the name I thought it was “CatGoo”
I think the sand affects animals that say "After [X] days, (do this)." by dropping the count by 1.
It seems to eat the Waterbuffalo and others you needed a puddle (which probably needed to be renamed lake/watering hole) as it allows preds to ambush them, i expect haha

this game layout remind me old symbian cell phone farming game. it was difrend game, but the layout almost the same.

When I was little our cat had kittens and the one I named was all black and being like 5 years old, I named him Blackie. lol
I got curious and looked up what a capreolus is.
It's a deer.
Not some fancy endangered deer, just a regular old european roe deer (Capreolus capreolus).
And yes, there is a subspecies called Capreolus capreolus capreolus.

That’s such a great game I don’t mind others trying the same system out. This one looks like it needs a little more playtesting, but maybe there are bots we don’t see here

This game was made by a sneaky chinese publisher that stole a dev's ideas once they were pitched to them.

It's just a different culture. Ours is hyper sensitive to racial stuff but many are not.
It's a very very common pet name in countries where English is not the first language, especially for those who don't speak English much outside of the basics. I myself just know there was racism meaning to it only recently.
