Self attack meant that they got more attack whenever you killed an enemy.
well no.
Yes, I wish I could have yelled it through the screen
You can move enemies to empty spots, it changes the game a whole lot. Also, not really worth killing enemies that hurt you when there is nothing behind them.
You get gold for killing enemies if you want to focus on that, but it's not always worth it
I swear we're gonna see a musical chair roguelike soon.
And I was not ready to be roasted as a 100 year old senior who played Freecell when I clicked on this video.
real. My first memory of computers is my parents dinosaur on dialup..... i mean i am 25 but like fr fr
next you're gonna tell me there's a rock paper scissors roguelike
@@codesymphony Or a pogo stick roguelike! Utter nonsense.
@@codesymphony Idk if this is satire bc there is
The translation got you good at the beginning.
“I swear the bar did not look like it was at the lowest value”
Yeah, brother, cuz your poison vine was causing YOU to receive 1 damage every attack round for that 8 health. It was just worded poorly so I think you thought you were getting +1 attack and +8 health, but it was +8 health and take 1 damage every time you attack.
Also the “Cross ahead” card. I kinda sussed out the poison vine thing, but I was just as surprised as you when you clicked on that card and it yeeted you to the next level.
i was so prepared to object to your freecell comment but i am actually above the age of 30, so i guess fair play
I gotchu, I'm still 29! That over 30 thing is some nonsense 😌
@@hugofontes5708r/unexpectedfactorial so you are 8841761993739701954543616000000 years old
I played it a lot and I'm 23
I am 44, back when windows only had minesweeper and solitaire when there was windows at all.
Can you even call yourself a PC gamer if you've never played freecell?
Next is gonna be a "go fish" rogue like.
And then a shoots and ladders rogue like.
i dont think it could be a rougelike but shoots and ladders is definetly a concept that could be used in wacky ways
@@iconica9516 I'm just joking. Everything is becoming a rogue like deck builder sorta game lol
"FreeCell roguelike" sounds like such a fun concept for a game, but I'm not sure if this game is what I had in mind. It looks more like Ring of Pain.
Thank you :) I've finished the demo.
Some things that are not covered by the video:
1) you can drag enemies to free level cells;
2) you can take chests and altars to inventory if you have no enough gold/runes at the current moment;
3) you gain souls - meta-currency - that can be spent to +1 for starting attributes.
Woulda been awesome for the game to teach literally any of that :)
@@OlexaYT Local youtuber ignores demo tutorial, wishes the demo mentioned the mechanics.
The “tutorial” was just cluttered screenshots with arrows everywhere.
It technically for #1, said “Empty space on the field can place any card” which, is super ambiguous. And did not mention 2 or 3.
It was a useless tutorial lol.
@@junkbarrage Screenshot tutorials are almost the worst tutorials (I've seen games with a wall of text without pictures 😅).
People can not remember a dozen of things at the same time for a game that they are never played before.
The absolute worst tutorial image I’ve ever seen is the megaloot demo. It’s pure psycho lol
1. Items and enemies can be moved about somewhat
2. You attack first, so if you kill with a attack you don't take damage (baring exceptions)
3. Self attack - meant it was gaining atk each time you kill one of the other little guys
💚
This Hydrating Beverage is Pretty Cool.
Just drink your damn water, I do this every day, you read it, you see it, just get up, walk over to your kitchen or water cooler or whatever, and hydrate!
Me, excited about Freecell Roguelike: "Im in!"
Video 47 seconds in: makes me feel as old as rope
I have a feeling that you can put any card in your inventory - including enemies.
To be fair - the game didn't communicate it properly, so no wonder you missed it (if its even true)
You can only move item cards into your inventory. But you _can_ move enemies to empty spots, as the tutorial said.
@@willguggn2 to be fair you can also move alters chests and even the entire shop can be moved to your pocket, only thing that cant is enemies and the "cross ahead" cards
This game deserves another video, but with Olexa having learned how to properly pilot it. Aka moving enemies and learning their abilities
Olexa: “I have never played free cell before in my life, because, believe it or not, I’m under the age of 30.”
31yr old me: “Touché good sir”
translation aside i honestly think this is great. like to the point where i hope it gets cleaned up and you come back to it
I felt personally attacked by the free cell age comment...thanks for reminding me I'm old...
Defense is a bit of a trap because tons of things have piercings attacks.
A great alternative for Ring of Pain enjoyers :)
its like forward escape the fold meets ring of pain
Not a channel recommendation, more something for your spare time:
Card Crawl and Card Thief
They're mobile games from a solo dev and they're both amazing. This game seems heavily inspired by Card Crawl
Sick game, I probably wouldn't play it myself because of the rng factors but if you end up playing the full release I would definitely watch!
Very nice, especially it's simplicity
That was Chinese @ 15:53 brother
Damn. I coulda sworn it was Japanese
Interested to see how this game will develop
0:36 I spat out my sandwich lol
Hope ya didn't spit out your teeth too 👴
@@spazisspaz6074 🥲
As a 34y/o, who has infact played freecell. I can attest to the truth of the opening statement
I'm 23 and played freecell a lot of times
I’m in my 30s, so I can confirm I am indeed 100.
Do you plan on playing inkbound? seems like a game you would enjoy
You should check out anti paint it just got its first big post launch update
I think that game was kinda not great haha
@@OlexaYT fair enough lol and yeah i got it and beat it and unlocked everything in the game in like 3 runs and then was like okay now what ... but they just added an Ascension system. If I remember correctly tho you dont like those that much either
Very similar to Ring of Pain basically
When's supermarket cashier rouge like bc it seems like there a RL of everything
Sounds like there will be meta progression to make you stronger which makes since and would help with the RNG... but then again that kinda makes the early runs unwinable so... tradeoffs.
❤
day 2 asking for soulknight (a phone game)
This is a frustrating vid for people who can read lol
hey i played free cell and i'm only 23 (the person who owned the computer was over 30)
I'm 33 and got dare you accurately attack me
Very tough hmm
Excuse you I'm 29
Ayo, You really gotta pay more attention man.. you just slammin through these with reckless abandon it seems..
Let me start by saying: my opinion doesn't matter. Whether or not I'm happy makes zero difference to your life.
Having said that: the "hundred year old" FreeCell player comment was uncalled-for and an uncharacteristically low blow for someone who calls himself "wholesome".
I'm like 10-15 years older than you, and FreeCell wasn't a thing in the Windows version I grew up with. I saw this video come up in my feed and I was actually really excited to watch it, then less than 30 seconds in you're insultingly describing people _between us in age_ as "like 100 years old". Sure, if that's your perception, then fine. No one gets to control how you view it. But no part of me is interested in watching this video anymore.
Per your channel update the other day, you've got a lot of content coming up that I'm ridiculously excited for, and to be clear, I'm still looking forward to it. Do with this what you will, but when I click on a CZcams video, I'm just not looking for one of my favorite content creators to start demeaning me for his _perception_ of how old I am. My life sucks enough already, I don't need anyone piling on when I'm trying to relax.
It was just a joke my guy. I used to play solitaire on windows xp all the time growing up. Sorry you didn’t take it as a joke.
@@OlexaYT After sleeping on it, I've chilled out a lot. I was upset about other things, and that primed me to be angry about things I really didn't need to be angry about. Sorry about that.
It _is_ true that you're one of my favorite CZcamsrs, and I really am excited about the stuff you've got coming -- but next time I'll try not to watch when I'm grumpy. And if I do, I'll keep my grumpiness to myself.
No worries brother, it happens! Hope all is going well
Watching you play is like being forced to watch all those crappy mobile game ads where they intentionally pick some of the worse decisions possible for engagement purposes. I get that commentating while playing is hard and translation error/miscommunication happens but holy shit man, what are you doing?
I mean for one, the game literally was in practically a different language lol
Brother this is NOT freecell
It’s literally described on their steam page as a freecell solitaire game
@@OlexaYT you were lied to 😔
The combination of you not being over thirty and your lack of reading comprehension really hindered your gameplay here. 😬 this was tough to watch.
Would love to see you replay this after learning how to actually play it.
Please read 😤 you usually skip info because you dont read cards and their effects 🥲
