Thank you for your video! Such useful & so very helpful tips! I’m quite a bit older than you, & have made a ton of mistakes with money! And credit cards! I’m slowly learning, very slowly! Credit cards are definitely a learning curve at first and luckily this day and age there are soooo many good resources and tools to get ahead! Luckily I have always naturally been very on top of finances and finding the best strategies that work for Juan and I! Thank you for the video and your transparency. I just recently started to say I need to use a credit card more. Would you be comfortable in sharing what your cash back percentage is for using your credit card? I'm trying to find the best credit card rewards program there is. I see a lot of 2% rewards back or pick one category and get 3% back. I just want to make the most out of my choice because if I pay my power bill with a credit card and they charge a fee for me to pay it, it may end up washing out the "cash back," reward I'm set to receive. (For example the bill may be $50 dollars, the fee is $2 dollars to use a credit card, and the 2% cash back award would only give me $1 dollar back. So I mine as well use my debit card and pay no fee.)
Absolutely, I am glad that it can be helpful ! I do not mind sharing at all ! So my credit card gives me 5% back in 2 categories of my choice, 2% back in 1 category of my choice, and then the 1% back on everything else so no matter what I am getting money back for every purchase. My credit card also has 0 fees and I got a $200 bonus when I spent my first $500 when I first activated it. We get to change our categories every quarter (4 times a year) so we pretty much have to plan ahead to maximize our cash back if we know we will purchase something big.
My water bill now is actually the same way, so we now just use our debit card for that now. But the credit card game is always a conversation we have every quarter and strategize on. We have 2 credit cards so one of them has gas and groceries turned on at alll times at a higher percentage, and the other credit card is the one we strategize on and change categories if needed depending on what we know we will be spending on. (Vacation, furniture, new phone, etc)!!

It's just a matter of keeping up with it and I think if I go in with a plan it may come like second nature because 5% is awesome. Where they are getting people now is saying they don't count Walmart and Target as stores, but goodness that's where most people shop a lot.
Yayy I’m so glad I could be of help ! Yess it’s definitely helpful to have more than one card to strategize but it also helps with credit utilization which is awesome especially for people that like to plan ahead! Yesssss I have noticed some credit cards doing that too ! That’s why I always recommend for people to start off with their local bank first and see what they offer !! Both of my credit cards are from my two banks and they are great with no annual fees and cash back options !

The thing about waiting is I have been waiting all along, just while paying other people's mortgages. I am in a better spot now and once i get more of my debt paid off while saving/living with my parents, I believe I can be successful in a few years' time.
I totally get it, the waiting game is so hard and discouraging at times especially since time is something you can’t control. I’m glad you’re in a better spot and can think of the bigger picture even if that means reaching your goal a few years from now. That’s something a lot of people don’t do and keeps them on the same position. You got this!!

felicidades yo tengo 2 hijos los 2 trabajan 1 tiene 21 estudia y trabaja,otro 23 es pharmacy tec, el de 21 anos gana casi 2000 al mes le pagan cada 2 semanas gasta mucho gasta asta 1200 al mes le digo ahorra antes tenia nada mas una cuenta de savings pero hizo una de checking y no quiere poner al savings vive con nosotros y no paga nada

@@homebodied si mija as un video para saber de las tarjetas de credito nosotros usamos nada mas la debit o cash si tenemos de credit es de bank of America .dice rewards ..entonces se usa la de credito y separo el dinero que gaste y al final cuendollega el cobro lo pago total. y para poder a empezar a tener o hacer credito, mi hijo aplico para un prestamo y no se lo dieron porque no tiene credito pregunta nosotros podriamos ayudarle con nuestro credito.y para credit card cual seria mejor es lo mismo cash back y rewards

I love everything you say except the credit card… that’s debt
Well actually, I’ve never paid even a penny of interest on my credit card because we pay it off every month! We’ve actually literally made thousands in cash back believe it or not ! Credit cards have a bad rep because you CAN get into issues if they aren’t used wisely.

So 28 minutes to say don't spend money on makeup, the salon, $7 coffees and live with your mom if you can...
You’d be surprised how much you can save when you dive into your finances and cut out what you don’t need. But keep doing what your doing because looks like it’s working great for you !! 😊
At the end of the day however you put it, saving is about intentionality. Many people think they can’t save because they don’t make a lot but there is always room to cut back and isn’t so “obvious”. Work with what you have and what you can control.

I truly don’t think it was click baity at all ? Obviously everybody has different expenses but it’s the same idea. Areas in your life that you spend a lot of money in that you can cut back on whether it’s video games, shoes, clothes, tattoos, trips etc. And as I stated we are a dual income couple so if It was just me this would have taken a lot longer. Saving is not one size fits all and all you need is a goal. Nothing I did was groundbreaking and anybody can do it. That’s the beauty of it all. At the end of the day that’s exactly what I did and I decided to share. If that doesn’t work for you that’s completely okay ! Different things work for different people , good luck !
