NEW to home buying? START HERE ------------------>
czcams.com/video/6RQoBGcxq48/video.html
Thanks, very clueless of the process
I needed this video this year going be my year to own my first Home 👍🏾
Yay! And congrats! What other videos would help you learn more about the process? Also where are you buying?
Me too!
Same here
I’m buying in Maryland. I’m saving for my first home too! ☺️
Meal planning and buying groceries online have been game changers when it comes to my spending. I have also enjoyed trying new recipes. I’m saving $500-$800 a month just by being super strict with my budget! 😯
That's awesome! Where do you grocery shop? I find this makes a huge difference too. I need to stick to ONE or two stores that have good quality with organic food but not too expensive.
CIARA ELAINE hey Ciara!! Thanks for another amazing video!!! As far as grocery shopping try downloading the app “Flipp”. You can access all local grocery stores. It helps me to browse and make a detailed list & plan my smoothies / meals based on the sales. It’s helped me tremendously!!
@@CIARAELAINE I usually shop at Supermax. I find the variety to be good and I can definitely find good quality food. I worry less about finding the cheapest deals in different stores because if I don't stick to one, I end up getting more things than I need
I'm working on doing this now 👐
3-5% of 600K here in California ghetto can seem impossible 😆
We just purchased our home a few months ago. Meal planning was a game changer for saving money!
I closed on my townhome on 12/3/2020, bought lower than my pre-approval which was a great strategy💗💃🏾....this video is so very helpful and accurate.
Definitely sharing this with others.
I've never heard someone talk about saving in such a straightforward yet informative and non-repetitive way! You came across very genuine and you are organized AND you post all of your "secrets" for us beginners to start opening our minds to! Thank you Thank you! So inspiring!
Thanks so much! I’m in the process of building a home & I need these tips!
Thank you!!!! I’m currently renting and needed help in saving for a home because I’m tired renting! This video was helpful!
Great advice. I’m 33 and moving back in to my parents home to save for a few months and then close on a home. I ideally don’t want to move back home, but it’ll definitely benefit me 😊
Wow. It’s refreshing hearing a video and feeling like your talking to me. I’m currently living back home so I can pay off debt within the next few months so I can move out and save for a home. It’s definitely a big sacrifice. It was uplifting hearing your ‘before’. Thank you for sharing and the tips.
I'm so glad this was helpful! You are smart to stay at home while you need to and reap the benefits of using your income to pay off debt. A few months is such a short time in the grand scheme of things. Your future self will DEF thank you. Smart girl! Where are you from?
You're lucky because you're a woman. Men can't just move back in with our parents. It's considered a weak move in our society
@@ltwadley7619 weak move until you own your mansion. Eff societies standards. Most of "society" has no assets or goals.
@@beckstarr6726 Exactly. As much as I wanted to downsize (from lg apt to owning a small condo) in the coming months, I told my 2 sons to make the move with me and save money to purchase their own property when they're done with school and are financially stable. They don't hv children and aren't irresponsible slackers, so what's the rush? Should I decide to relocate, they can rent it or buy it from me then sell it when they can afford a new home or rental property. Screw what ppl think and if a woman doesn't understand that they're preparing for they're future, then they need another woman. Lol
@@CIARAELAINE Thank you so much, Ciara ✨
Love and appreciate the follow-up with your viewers. You seem so genuine and helpful. ♥️
Mahn Saving while renting is soooo hard! But im trying to pay off debt first
It def can be! But you're doing the right thing by lowering debt first. How long do you think it will take to pay off/down?
So true!
@@CIARAELAINE do you feel like a person should just pay each creditor or consolidate it?
Depends on your interest rates! But definitely don’t pay a “debt consolidation” company to do it for you. The vast majority of them are SCAMS!!
@@symonerae07 I messed up my credit with student loans when I was really young and ended up having to work with a consolidation company just to get it out of collections. As long as you put up with the high rates....and pay them up for at least half a year or so, you can go to your bank and from there (hopefully) now that your credit is better get a consolidation loan through them. It's not pretty...but it's better than gambling or selling everything you own in hopes to pay it all up front... or selling your soul to pay it off while still keeping a low credit. I definitely recommend if someone has a big loan in collections to try some of those companies and do their research on them if they think they can keep up with the payments....it feels like a chance at life again. I wish I knew more about spending and credit when I was younger!
That example made me chuckle. Buying a home for 100,0000$! I wish 😂
I appreciate all the advice you are giving. My early adulthood was a mess (financially) so now that I'm ready and want to buy a house, I have to fix my mistakes from when I was younger. You definitely gave me a perspective on what I should be doing as for saving and being prepared for closing costs and etc. Thank you again so much, and I'm proud to join the family.
Definitely needed this!! Starting this buying process very soon!!
Hi . Awesome video... you are the 1st person who mentioned closing cost / miscellaneous cost / importance of a emergency fund. When I bought in my house in 2005. I was so native .... We had a surprise of having to pay our annual home insurance in full. We had to buy a lawn mover and snow blower too. 😍🥰 My parents helped us but we still were struggling a little bit because we still had living expenses ( kids/daycare... etc)
all of your videos are packed with info. i just love them. i am fulfilled. it's encouraging
It’s best to save like $15,000 - $20,000 I’m thinking to be more comfortable and to get everything you would need. Everything you’re saying is so true. I watched my mom buy her house decades ago. She actually was a single mother taking care of me and my sister. She didn’t have a whole lot saved. But she brought new items early before we moved in lol.... it all ended up working out. Also she had to purchase a new refrigerator 🤦🏾♀️ everything you’re saying is so true. Thanks for sharing 💗
Very Helpful! Thank You!

Your videos are so informative and you explain things in a way I can understand, so kudos to you! I've been manifesting to purchase early next year. I just moved into my new apartment and I don't want to rent anymore; let's not talk about the moving truck cost 😪. This video came right on time. I knew I would need to save, so at the beginning of the year I chose to do a Save $10k a Year Challenge. In addition I've picked up two side hustles with a third one in process. Love your videos! So question, I know that it’s ideal to have two years at your job or in your field, I spoke to someone that said my one year of schooling with medical billing and coding would count towards those two years but because of Covid and schools being closed and not having childcare I haven’t been able to get back to work until JUST now so I have a bout a years gap.
Our situations like this take into account or do you think I’ll have to start my whole two years all over? (Hope that makes sense)

No thank YOU for watching! That's so exciting. I love that you've already started saving and doing research on what to do. What kind of house are you planning to get? Like a starter home or your DREAM home?
@@CIARAELAINE this will be my very first home 🏡 I’m not exactly sure if I want to get a starter home then save for my dream home or just go ahead and save for my dream. I plan to buy in 2-3 years. I am still researching houses in my area ranging from 100K-350K so I am looking between 200-300K right now!
I would also include all appliances and possible hot water heater with the extra costs.

Hey Queen! I love your videos. I do binge watch 💖 im saving now & getting my credit cleaned up! What state are you able to help get people a loan. I would like to use you. How does it work?
I'm trying to buy a home now and found myself stumped with how much more difficult it is to get approved for a loan than I initially thought. Those student loans are killing me! I decided to wait a few more months and in the mean time I'm moving back in with my parents so I can save probably most of my monthly income. You weren't lying about sacrifice!
If there is one thing I am learning from your videos Ciara (apart from the financial lessons) is your love of al things pink!! 🤣
Hello ! Love your videos . Me and my husband been renting apartments for 3 years now next year we want to move to Jacksonville FL . We are saving but Virginia is expensive. We are thinking about renting another apartment for a few months then start the home buying process. It's just a big move and we have good credit so I'm not worried . Just alot to think about !
Thank you sooooo much for posting this I’m a single mom and plan on buying a how but didn’t know where to start. I also want to get into the real estate business! Any other pointers you can give me!?
You are so welcome! I hope you can also check out my other videos I put a TON of info there which should help also! And I even have an LO playlist if that is a job that interests you. What specific questions can I help you with that I may not have already covered on this channel?
Do you encourage using the VA home loan? Also do you have any videos on specifics of using VA home loans?
Also, do you have any videos on having student loan debt while trying to purchase a home?
Hi Ciara! Question. I’m looking to possibly get my first home by end of the year, however, my husband and I have some debts to pay off. Realistically, I don’t expect them to be 100% paid off by end of the year, but either halfway or almost. Because of that it will be hard to save for closing cost and furniture (I’m using my VA loan so no down payment). Would you recommend that I focus more on savings for that and once I get that done, then continue to pay off debts? I’m just wondering how we would look to lenders having credit card debt (I’m around the 42% mark of available credit that needs to be paid off)? I do know we at least meet the guidelines for credit scores and nothing is in default on our credit. Thank you!
Thank you Ciara for all you do! What is the minimum credit score you need in Georgia for a USDA Loan
Just passed my SAFE exam 4 days ago!!!! I watched all your videos before buying the 20 hour course. I have a job lined up in 30 days. I’m excited. What should I do to prepare in the meantime? Which book did he recommend? I would love to look into it as well
