Hi Amruta, Thanks for posting this video. Can you please make one video on the Difference between OACETT and PEO EIT or any other province body which gives comparatively easy to get licensed?
Someone new immigrant to Canada of course didn’t have a year of Canadian experience so, we need to go the PEO EIT route. Here, I mentioned OACETT because if we qualified for that then they also provide Ontario Engineering Technologist Title to get a job in Canada.
I don’t know if OACETT Title helpful to get a job or P.Eng but if you know more details then please let me know.
I do have one more question to following is that OACETT require IEPPE/PPE and PEO require NPPE. If you check both exams are same but both are not acceptable in each other body. Do you have any idea how to sort out this thing?

Thank you for the overview. Very detailed and very helpful !!
My husband has 9 years civil engineering experience in India. He doesn’t have a masters degree. So to meet the experience criteria he would need to work under P. eng supervision for 12 months OR study a civil engineer masters course in Canada ? Have I understood this correctly ?

    • @AmertaRoopani
      @AmertaRoopani  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi,
For the experience requirement to get P.Eng is min: 4 years and from that one year has to be Canadian and must be under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
So answer to your question: your husband needs one year of Canadian work experience under a P.Eng.
And degree from a Canadian university helps people to get exempted from the technical exams to meet academic requirements. If people don’t have Canadian degree (bachelor or masters), they need to write technical exams.
      Good Luck!

      Hi,

      Answer to your question.
First there isn’t any exam for EIT. EIT is a different story that I will explain in one of my upcoming videos.
There are only 2 types of exams for P.Eng. 1. Technical exams, which will be assigned if you don’t meet academic requirements. 2. PPE (Professional Practice Exam).
None of them will be “open book”.
      Good Luck ☺️

I did Masters from Canada and bachelor's in India. While filling application, do I need to mention my bachelor's too? Here they have written ALL ENGINEERING DEGREES, so does that mean I write Indian degree too?

Is there any way to waive the technical exam to get peng? I completed my M.Eng in Canada, degree, and a diploma in India.

Sorry for the late reply because i wasn’t getting any comment notification.
Anyways...if you have done M.Eng from a Canadian university, you won’t be required to do technical exams doesn’t matter wherever you have done your undergraduate from.
      Good Luck!

Thank you Amerta for the helpful video.
Anybody knows if it is a must or not to be working in the engineering field at the time of application?
I mean the person has 4 rears engineering and got assessed ok, passed the PEE, passed the interview, and has more the required 48 months but at the time of application he is not working for some reason such as got laid off or he quit or he was taking care of his kids, dose that be an obstacle? Dose the applicant must be working at the time of application?
Anyone got through this situation or know something.
    Thanks for any comments.

      Hello,
I am glad that you found this video helpful.
As long as the applicant meets all the requirements , he/she will get their P.Eng. It doesn’t matter if that applicant is currently working or not.
      Good Luck!

As civil engineering is under regulated profession, are we eligible for PNP programmes.
