I think as a Chelsea fan you guys really explained the situation pretty well. Boehly and Clearlake have clearly committed to this 'project' and it would be stupid to sack Potter now if they see the potential. Performances and results have been poor, but if they want to change Chelsea they should stick with it

Modern Chelsea is a club that is built on having an unlimited budget and spending, no real need for a long term project when you are just going to throw money around anyway. This "new Chelsea" is just a way less efficient higher risk way of outspending everybody. Built on sand comes to mind.

@@Beeady I suppose but only idiots make that taunt and any football fan worth their salt knows its not true. we were pretty successful in Europe before roman and we completed the set before the conference league was introduced. I just don't think it'd be worth the effort It would take out of the league. europa league to maintain our 100% record would be more worth it but id rather just miss out on Europe entirely

We have a very deep first team squad and a lot of very talented young players in the dev squad, so have more than enough to compete on multiple fronts even if we were to sell 15 players in the summer
I personally feel all the options out there are kind of underwhelming n they should jus try keep potter until the end of the season unless this poor form obviously continues

Was at the Chelsea - Leeds game. Chelsea looked good….but so did Leeds. Chelsea allowed Leeds to grow into the game and have a lot of very good spells and they deserved a goal. That being said - Chelsea should have had 3. Felix hit the bar on a beautiful play and Havertz missed a one on one sitter.
And 4 weeks later this conversation looks quite interesting

Nope Enrique is an average coach who had just few good years with Prime MSN, Iniesta, Dani Anlves at the helm apart from that he had been below average everywhere, Average at Spain, Celta Vigo, Roma

Joe saying that Jose’s defensive approach wouldn’t work with Chelsea even though Tuchel played a defensive brand of football and was hugely successful, especially in his early tenure. Now I’m not protecting Jose or touting that he should be Potters replacement but what he has done to Roma is nothing short of amazing.
It makes no sense at all to hire Potter in the first place, only to fire him now. If you wanted a coach who could produce results here and now , you shouldn't have chosen Potter. He's a project coach who over time can make it work. Of course, you would have expected him to do better in the short term, BUT that is not the main objective. The only thing a sacking will bring now is even more "chaos" in the club. What Chelsea, need right now is to settle into something. So as a Tottenham fan, I actually hope he gets sacked, because I think that in a season or two, when the new signings have settled into the Premiere League and to the style of play, that Chelsea will be scarily good. Like Arteta, where everyone wanted him sacked at the start, but they didn't, and look what's happened now! At the very least give Potter the season off. And preferably some of next season too.

Does T.B actually allow his manager to have a say in player recruitment? Which manager would allow the club to buy so many players, before putting in workable system? The fault doesn't lie with Potter, its T.B and his 'Im the sports director and I know what Im doing' thingy that has put Chelsea where they are now.
Just keep him. We give him until the summer, give him a preseason and I think reassess come the winter break and see if there is improvement.

I think Luis Enrique failed for Spain because he didn't have the time to work with the players and have them working as a team. His style of football requires everyone working together, and Spain only got good enough to pass it around but not to create dangerous attacks

From the outside, it really seems like a lot of structure has been uprooted from Chelsea. They really need some time to nail things down and for everyone to find their feet. Trying to chop and change the manager won't solve that.

Roman's hire fire was NOT successful. We havent even challenged for the league for the last 6 YEARS!! The UCL victory masked a lot of problems at Chelsea. Players signed for Conte Sarri Lampard Tuchel were all extremely different. No coherent plan no long term strategy. Hire and fire worked in the early years due to no ffp and then because we had Lapmard Terry Drogba Cech absolute leaders on the pitch. Ever since city and Liverpool with their long term strategies came in we became nothing and now even Arsenal are so much better than us. Boehly has been really intelligent in identifying the problems at Chelsea.
What I don’t understand on football, why does a big team always go for a manager that managed smaller teams to the top half of the table?

#1 - Hansi Flick (would play tremendous pressing football with lots of modern innovations, should make the team very fun to watch)
#2 - Poch for 2 + 1 years (develop the team full of young players, Poch has a reputation for being excellent at coaching them)
#3 - Luis Enrique (meh but he's somewhat proven! even though his teams can sometimes be prone to unnecessary sideways passing)
Best option would be getting Jose Mourinho and winning everything
