i had a period when i was obsessed with the minimalist style but i quickly realized that it's just not realistic for me since i love collecting things and displaying them and i can't imagine a way to do that without disrupting the minimalism :p sometimes minimalistic interiors feel so lifeless, too - they're nice to look at, but rarely feel homey
I love the maximalist. Also, I think the lights you used in the minimalist bath might actually work better as a nightlight. The idea being that sometimes people use the bathroom in the middle of the night, but don't want to turn on the bright light.

I'm not a huge fan of minimalist interior, but the spaces that I've liked usually had interesting, warm lighting to soften the spaces especially at night into something more cozy. Definitely love how you approached this build!

Minimalist decor for sure. I've been noticing more and more that I really love having less. There is something so relaxing about a clean, clear space with minimal things around. It certainly makes cleaning much easier. ❤

i think it would be cool if you did a half an half minimalist and maximalist but the maximalist was dark, jewel tones and the minimal was light pastels! or the other way around owo
I think 'maximalist' is more about ornate and decorative pieces and furniture, rather than it being clutter. It's about unique pieces and managing to make a cohesive space, despite them not being designed to match. Maximalist is often inspired by Victorian Britain and that antique shop vibe. It's not about having the maximum amount of stuff in your home 😂

I'm a maximalist. Always have been. Personally as someone that grew up in a chaotic household, being in a minimal household makes me uncomfortable. I like how you made the minimal side comfy and homely still though. Made me less anxious while you worked on it.
You ruined me for every other sims CZcamsr. You’re the only one who I can watch without getting frustrated bc you’re so damn talented and your builds make sense.
After she said the thing about a mailbox area meetcute I spent the rest of the video shipping the sims who live here, I've given them a backstory and everything. I'm picturing like a very Jess and Nick from new girl sort of vibe to them and the girl in the maximalist side being overly hopeful and optimistic about everything. The minimalist guy is really broody and into his music but we later find out he designed the house for him and his fiancee who tragically died and that's why he's so unhappy all the time.
In the sims I’m definitely team minimalist. Overly cluttered builds stress me out! A little bit of purposeful clutter is fine but when there’s just stuff everywhere, I hate it 😂
I’m kinda messy in real life so in the sims it’s like I get to live out my fantasy of being neat and organised and having a nice aesthetically pleasing space l, because I’m never going to be that person in real life 😂😂
Your builds are truly inspiring to me. Watching your videos makes me want to get rid of all my build CC and rely solely on the items that are already in the game. Could you build a house using only feng shui rules.
E.g. Bed head against a solid wall, feet of the bed no facing the door.
Vs a house that defies feng shui
Bed in the middle of the room, foot of bed in front of the door, a long corridor leading to the bedroom. Etc
I'm 100% a maximalist and a clutter girl but I like to keep my things as clean and as neat as possible so it's one hell of a struggle 😭

I only just recently started watching you but every time you upload it really makes my day! especially after being stressed out from school. I honestly loved both the minimalist and maximalist houses but I think my favorite has to be the maximalist! I loved the amount of clutter and it just seemed like such a cozy house. I feel like the sim living there would def be a cat person too judging by the kitty bathmat and the kitty cup in the bathroom 😂 I also really liked the idea of the minimalist and the maximalist falling in love, I think that'd be really cute 🥺🥺💖
I very much prefer the minimalist Townhouse. It's the style I'm most used to when building and decorating in the Sims. Also, the new Bathroom Kit seems so low Poly it looks like it came from a PS2 game.

Hey your love story thing can still work, like what if the painting in the maximalist's balcony, the woman in that canvas is the minimalist that lives in the other side. Perhaps, the maximalist painted that from memory when the two of them chatted in the front of the townhouse. Like that would be so adorable!

i honestly love when people build joint houses as i never seem to see them. i personally live in one and find it very different from a normal home as u literally here the neighbour’s EVERY MOVE. i hear when they are walking because they don’t have rugs and it’s loud, i Hera when they lose a game of fortnite etc. it’s a beautiful time 😂
They're both cute although I'm a wee bit surprised you didn't touch the maximalist kit. The maximalist sim needs at least a peacock statue! I haven't bought the bathroom kit yet....don't know if I will. Can't help feeling a lot of those items should have been base game and delivered in an SDX drop, ya know?

I love everything you do on CZcams, and inspiring me so much. I build a lot myself in sims 4 and have a very different style. But when i see your builds i always ends up try do something similar just for fun and something new, but it ends up like my normal style anyway in the end 🤣 thats how it is i guss.

I'm a minimalist normally but I liked the maximalist one better. I loved the cheerful colors and the lighting coming in the windows was so much better/cozier on the maximalist side.
This reminds me of that Mary Kate and Ashley movie New York Minute. One is very OCD and the other is like grunge and fun, cluttered and crazy 😅
Imagine the balconies are on the back of the house and that's how they fall in love? The artist finds the musician cute, just happens to go out when they're playing music and eventually paints them a picture of how their music makes them feel. 🥲

Love the colour combos for both of them, with the green/orange & the peach/lilac. Everytime you make one of these videos I'd always get the urge to open the game & do one myself!
What do you think of making something like 'shell challenge', like one where you've finished the outside & layout etc, but let us do whatever for the rooms inside? (an empty house challenge?)
Like maybe a townhouse/apartment lot with multiple "houses/rooms" in it that's similar in shape like this one (but maybe more rooms, like 3 or 4? or more D:).
It'll be like a regular shell challenge where you decorate it first, then in the end, pick your favourite rooms & combine them all.
I think people get confused with minimalist style, it doesn't mean you cant have any décor its just not lots of clutter, everything that is out on the sides has its own place & purpose to tie everything in together.
my style changes with my mood, so this would be a dream

Hear me out. The artist is a man (or woman) who is actually in love with the girl next door and the painting on their balcony is actually her. And maybe the girl writes music about the guy/girl next door. Neither of them know that the other is in love with the other. However, they’re actually pretty good friends. And eventually they come out about their feelings and they get together and get a house. I think it would be a good idea for you to do a max/min house build!! I think it would be a challenge but you can definitely do it. Btw I love your videos!!❤️

Since I lean more on the minimalist side most of my sims houses look like that but I also like building homes with the maximalist theme.
My favorite thing to do is create my main sim and then make their parents, move them out into their “childhood home” then build the parents home wit ya a lot of clutter and extra detail!! It’s such a fun concept If your bored with sims definitely try this!!!😄Just for more character or “memories” in the game.

Ok I know no one asked but here’s the sims that live there’s love story
So the boy is a successful musician who is a cleanfreak and hates clutter and he’s lived in the townhouse for a few years.
Then the crazy extroverted maximalist girl moves in. The meet when they are collecting their mail at the same time. She invites him in and he makes a comment about how it looks like a rainbow threw up on her house, she gets offended and he leaves. Later he knocks on her door and apologizes.
Weeks go by and the guy goes to check up on her because he hasn’t seen her out for a while. It turns out that the girl is going through a bad breakup with her toxic ex.
He comforts her and they end up kissing. She tells him she can’t be in a relationship right now because of everything that’s going on. He tells her he understands but secretly he’s fallen in love with her and is really hurt.

Hey Syd! May I suggest a little tip for alt placing things on counters, sinks etc as to avoid them floating above the surface?
So you get one of the cube shelves from Dream Home Decorator (almost everything slots to it) and then you alt place the shelf with the item on it to the correct height of the counter/sink etc, then you simply move the item from that shelf to the surface you want it to be on!
I learned this one from Kayla (lilsimsie) and I hope it helps you out too! Much love, I absolutely adore your content!
The maximalist is a 6 feet tall artist (has to be tall so they can reach the shelves) who is probably the messiest person you've ever seen. They are totally a cat person.
The minimalist is a musician who is simple yet elegant. People say they are boring but in fact they are just introverted.
These two are best friends. You can't say otherwise.
Love this build! So cute I wanna try! I will say I wish they would of done the bathroom clutter kit more like the country kitchen, have a new toilet, shower/tub combo, and maybe a counter, then add the adorable clutter, just my opinion 😊
I see a female presenting Artist with flowy super layered outfits in the max side who lives next door to a male presenting Doctor in clothes with clean lines and neutrals. She likes his heart ( he literally saves lives for a living) and he lives her sense of freedom ❤❤❤

Aesthetically and in Sims builds, I love maximalism! I love the colors and quirkiness. But I need my space to be minimalist irl
Syd! Not sure if you tried this before, but would be funny if you had a random room generator and a random amount of rooms generator. So let's say your room generator lands on a bathroom, you spin a random number generator that can land on a 10, and you'd have to build a house with 10 bathrooms. Remove that room and number for each wheel and continue on to the next room. Not sure if that makes sense, but thought it would be funny if you had a home with 3 kitchens, 10 bathrooms, 1 bedroom, and 8 toddler rooms, etc!
You should do each of the emotions from inside out and make them all bedrooms. I havnt seen anyone do that!!!!
I love the Idea of the artist being a guy and the musician a women and the paint on the padio is the neighbor and he has a huge crush on her and she knows him and there friendly but she doesn't know him to much but he even recognizes her laugh
