Animals saved. I was most surprised by this time, given how rough the late game went. Unfortunately this run cannot be submitted as an official record, but this was also a serendipity in some ways...
I have long been conflicted regarding whether to use the 5/15/5 ammo route for Low% Speed. Hero_82 and I have a long-standing discussion about the validity of the route, with Hero opposing it and me defending it. I never doubted the competitiveness of the route, but was always afraid that if a trick like moat hibj emerges in a World Record run, it would drive away new comers to the category. This was based on my experience with Max% GT Code, where top-level runners were reluctant to join the competition back when moat hibj was the "standard fastest route", but decided to hop on only after the 0-tank dive was discovered. Secondly, 5/15/5 makes the Ridley fight almost easier than the low% ice fight, which may detract from the "key challenge" of the category that is, the prolonged Ridley fight. For these reasons, I told a few runners beforehand that "If I ever set a strong World Record with this route, I probably won't submit it to SRC, and just keep it as part of my journey". This run accomplished exactly what I aimed to reach, which is to prove the validity of the 5/15/5 route and showcase the many improvements/new strats developed in the last two years (except most of them cannot be seen...), and coincidentally is not eligible for leaderboard submission. It could be a fitting end for the 3 months of fun that I had.
    Huge shoutouts to:
Hypo and Hotarubi, for showing the bomb-less Ridley fights, and for developing the speed-baby skip
zoast, for his run that showed many strats to learn from and develop on
antimatterhorse, for the many discussions about pre-Ridley farming strat as well as WRITG
stashiocat, for helping me with WRITG, general Ridley knowledge, and the 3-PB kago-farm strat
EternisedDragon, for proposing the revolutionary kago-farming strat, saving more than 20 seconds in this run

Thank you so much, antimatterhorse! This couldn't have happened without your help.
In reflection, the fact this footage captures none of the big end-game strats is hugely disappointing 😫This run was 24 seconds behind the WR leaving Red Brinstar, and managed to be 70 seconds ahead by parlor escape, from the 5-PB kago farm, baby cutscene-skip, and 5/15/5 Tourian (yes, all the big names), and we can see none of that.
I must run this category again! 🌌🌌

www.twitch.tv/videos/46545689 This is also a thing but seems like it's slower than your method. If you could do double bombjumps it would save a ton of time.

Hi Sniq. I personally can't perform the ceiling bomb jump, but thankfully for moat I'm confident hibj is faster (for bowling, the cibj seems much faster, since hibj is more prone to error). I am aware of the double bomb jumps, the fastest crossing I've done is about 25 seconds (czcams.com/video/x5pcrK-XkPg/video.html). But I was never super consistent with the dbj's, since you need to keep the hibj's quite low in order to not bonk the ceiling. I eventually concluded that, for low% speed, it's a better idea to get as many runs to Tourian as possible, so decided to remove the dbj's (or anything inconsistent) altogether. For the Max% GT-Code run however, I used to attempt the dbj's in moat, since it was the only reset-heavy spot.
