Amazing player! The best! I have never seen anyone skate as smooth as him. He is the only reason I liked the mighty ducks and wore #9 when I played hockey. You rule Paul!

Absolutely! He flourished in an era with so much clutching and grabbing. I can't imagine how well he'd do in today's game.

Of all 90’s dynamic duos selaane and Kariya were always the the least spoken and under rated to come up in that conversation. If only they had the supporting cast that other teams had there wouldn’t be no telling how successful the ducks could have been.

Quick correct to this 3 year old video, Kariya’s first return to Honda Centre was not Selanne’s retirement night. Shockingly he was not there, but it was later clarified that Kariya had already made plans and couldn’t attend. Of my knowledge: his first appearance was November 20, 2017 as the ducks had a hockey hall of fame night to commemorate Kariya and Selanne getting inducted into the Hall.
Fun fact about Nov 20-2017: During said celebration, owner of the ducks Henry Samueli hinted at Kariya’s jersey retirement by making an observation that “Selanne’s #8 looked lonely in the rafters”

I didn’t know he was gay. Not that it matters, he’s still one of my favourite players to watch when I was younger. I remember a Sunday dinner at my grandparents house with most of the family where we all watched the Canada game where he scored that goal. Great player and an excellent role mode. After that laser beam slap shot when he came back with a vengeance after that massive unnecessary hit from Stevens made me realize what an amazing player he was. I still get goosebumps when I watch that play in some compilation vids. My apologies for the lengthy comment you beautiful people. Have a great day all 👊🏽🤙🏽🖖🏽

That goal in game 6 of the finals was amazing. Pure adrenaline. It's just too bad he couldn't win the cup that year. Not sure about him being gay, I believe he's got wife and kids.

The NHL hasn't learned sh!t form Kariya. STILL letting the knuckle heads of the league get away with abuse on star players. Could you actually imagine if player like him and other ultra talents were able to free wheel out on the ice. They might even see the game grow a bit, and the fan base start to get as bit younger.
