Uncut! Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary eats BBC Panorama reporter Vivian White for Breakfast!

- čas přidán 5. 07. 2015
- Back in 2009 the self-righteous BBC took it upon themselves to tell us, the British public, that we all hate Ryanair and created a 30 minute special trying to justify it. The fact that this airline enabled my kids to see most of western Europe before they left school for virtually sweet FA was by and large missed! Anyway you don't create in 30 years from virtually nothing, the largest carrier in Europe without being one sharp cookie! Panorama sent a lamb to the slaughter and came out mincemeat on all fronts. Maybe some significant BA shareholders high in the BBC back then??..... Alas, the video hangs for a minute or two halfway through from the source recording but audio remains fine
Imagine if we had managers like this in our health care .. or anywhere in government that is spending tax payers money!
Hahahhaha never! Most irish are socialist.
Me too!!! I laughed out loud!!
He would make those in ambulances stand up as you can fit more people in them .
@@julienfroidevaux1143 If that's the best way to convey a lot of people to get to the hospital .. then for Christ's sake do it!
@@Dechieftian Um I don't disagree with most of what he says when it comes to running airlines , health care is another matter .....
BBC- We want an interview.
O leary - Of course you can have one as long as its un-edited and truthful of the discussion.
BBC - We don't do those.
That's a bit unfair. Programs have time slots. Ever heard of 'filibustering'? He could waffle on off the points the program is about, forcing them to choose between ditching the program or wrecking the program with a bloated interview. Many interviews are edited, the question is whether that leaves your relevant answers fairly represented or not. Depends how it's done.
He believes in scabbing when transport workers go on strike. Likely wants the working conditions to be straight out of the Victorian and Edwardian age
@@artgreen6915 Disagree .. BBC program had an agenda and attempted to push O'Leary into the mould ... didn't work. In fact, the opposite happened. But fair play for the BBC publishing the clip - if indeed it was the BBC.
Look at any Western interviews of China. Absolute joke
How can anybody not like O'Leary?
He was doorstepped but remained courteous and got his point across without being an asshole.
AND .. got a huge amount of free advertising for Ryan Air to boot!

This is a guy who wanted to charge ppl to use the bathroom on flights. Dick move
@@maki-rr3qj Just stop that never happened.
But lets say it did, would you prefer paying say £50 for the the flight and £5 for a piss or £100 for the flight and free unlimited pisses?
We have MOL/Ryanair to thank for cheap air travel.
@@kevocoseasyJet offered it before them. Ryanair are scummy, selling scratch cards mid flight, wanting to charge to use bathroom, which they weren’t allowed to do, & ur basically crammed in like a sardine with minimal leg space. The Irish long good bye. It always takes me an hour to finish a phone call to my family back home. 😂

Now there's a business man. If that's a genuine ' jump on you ' interview , then this chap is exceptional, he turns it from a planned media kidnapping to a promo stunt in his favour , marketing genius . I've flown Ryan Air once - no hassle , just like being on a bus.
People will say what they want about the man but he's clearly exceptional at what he does and very intelligent.

@@carlkukla4635 Not saying Brexit was good, but he did only oppose it because it would negatively affect Ryanair (seeing as they have a large presence in the UK both domestically and internationally), so it was obviously in the best interest of Ryanair as a company for Brexit not to happen.

Honestly, it’s pretty straight forward. Travel light travel cheap, never had any problems & thanks for the cheap flights.

O’Leary asked a reasonable question, but Panorama refused to agree to an uncensored interview.
Good for him, never allow the BBC to edit an interview. The "Oh God you are a tough businessman, how dare you!" style statement was quite incredible.
It's great to see everyone on here in favour of him. He's right in everything he said
BBC sucks!
I love the fact that at the end he said, "Sorry, I have to catch a bus for the two hour journey to my destination"
He said he would do an uncut interview about 6 times and not once did the bbc guy agree.
I loved it when he tried to encourage people to buy the shares. What's more is if I had taken the advice and bought the shares in 2009 I'd have made a nice profit on them now.

Theres an old saying in Ireland that you can't bullshit a bullshitter. Well the gentleman from the BBC met one of Irelands finest that day and found out there's definitely truth to that saying.
This man truly has the gift of the gab.
O Leary tells it like it is. That's why he runs a very successful airline
Did he really just accuse a businessman of driving a hard bargain?? 😂
In the olden days Airlines, manufacturers and suppliers worked together to make flying a very expensive proposition kept for only the upper middle class and upper class in each country. What annoys these suppliers is the new model of negotiating a deal without considering the desires of the other party. O'Leary is famous for coining the word "aerosexuals" to describe people who confer an aura of mytique on aviation and its ancillary work sectors. A mystique which existed in the early postwar period and survived until Reagan era deregulation in the 1980's.
Now you have a situation where mission critical parts of the industry are attended to such as fleet age and maintenance and all other former practices such as free meals and drinks and free baggage and generous allowances are got rid of.
Ryanair has never had a fatal crash. If they do that will be the end of them and well they know that.
Another thing they do not do is guarantee you will make connections. They style themselves as a point-to-point airline so you need to make allowances for that in planning your trips.
I love Ryanair! Flying to DUB two weeks today and the outbound flight cost me less than a train ticket to Manchester!
If O'Leary was British, he would be Lord O'Leary and a model of British entrepreneurship.
"Give us a break?!"
That's a man who knows he's lost.
So good, glad I am half Irish. Pure classic.

I never understood the hatred for Ryanair in Ireland, it cost next to nothing to fly anywhere in Europe but people still moaned! My cousin worked for him and said he was a massive dickhead but so what, hes an incredibly successful man
It was always criticised by people who don’t fly a lot …. you know , the ones that print out their boarding passes and have them in little A4 transparent folders like they were exam certificates 😂
@@djbrock65 They cost far more than exam certificates to replace if you realise you've lost them when you've got to the airport so I don't blame them! They probably actually have more real value than exam certificates too.

@@djbrock65 Nothing wrong with being cautious with travel documents. I have to get escorted through Dublin airport security by staff because of dicks like you who whizz through and barge into people without making allowances for infrequent or novice travellers or those with disabilities who are slow.
Many Irish people hate being told the truth about anything and prefer oily politeness and false praise in their dealings with others.
Micheal O'Leary is not like that. This abrasiveness and lack of hypocrisy and use of corporate jargons and cant gets up some peoples noses and bursts their bubbles. They then get angry.
Much worse is the DAA supremo who has caused a shitstorm at Dublin Airport recently and the idiot politicians who allowed him to let go 100's of security staff during the COVID panic 2 years ago.
I will not be flying anywhere from Dublin until this overcrowding and abrupt cancellation uncertainty is over.

That's if they don't cancel your flight. Good luck getting your refund !
O'Leary is right about everything, and YES there are NO hidden costs, if you click YES to travel insurance, you will get it... but you don't have to, or you can through someone else, the airline also offers you TWO free carry on luggage, which hardly ANY airline offers and its very generous, so if you want to check in a bag after that and it costs extra, YES... I've not seen this before. Utterly brilliant.
