Well aware I didn't talk about grenades but those aren't exactly weapons as much as they are a cut gameplay mechanic, plus they've been talked about enough as it is. Same thing with the Repair Node and Spy Traps.
Monke is well hidden this time... also D i s c o r d S e r v e r ?

Other hand, dealing with people who think Pyro is good in VSH

Real Talk; Nearly every level in Super Mario Sunshine has a "Yoshi" version of their songs, even if Yoshi isn't actually used within the level.
These songs are (imo) much better than the original even though it just changes the pace of the song and adds a drum.
If you didn't know that about Super Mario Sunshine, you do now.
I'd only play sunshine for the yoshi music, I'd play far enough too unlock him and just chill in delfino plaza.

I just went through every single stage of grief after hearing you say “we were this close to getting a new engineer pda”
Looks like we have to use the pip-boy for another 10 and a half years.
Sad
Sad
@@extensioncordgaming8266 They need to convert the pip boy into a pda instead of a cosmetic lol
All cuz people were too afraid letting engineer having other options.
Sigh.
Look I get it,fundementals n such, but honestly I think its by this point a mixed bag excuse.
I still maintain that the best name for a defibrillator in TF2 would be "The Second Opinion".
That’s what I renamed my Ubersaw back when I played.
There's already a cosmetic with that name, but I'd love to see a defibrillator weapon in the game.
Or "Plan B"
“After-Shock” would be a good one.
Reanimator
The assault cannon looks like it was planned for if Heavy won that poll back in the meet your match update. If we finally do get that aforementioned "heavy update", I'd love to see that along with that lead pipe get added as new weapons.

they probably expected heavy to win the vote (they probably adding it before the pyro update)
Plus wish some Russian heavy weapons like a ppsh 41 mini gun or a DP 28 and other Russian lmg & mmg

The fly swatter was probably a disciplinary action reskin. Similar shape and function.
I was thinking market gardener because a fly normally doesn't have time to react to getting swatted.
But the disciplinary action makes sense aswell just looking at the shape of the thing and the disciplinary action
Agreed
RIGHT? I was thinking the same thing!
It would be cool though if they added it
Funny idea: It could be a combination of the Market Gardener and Disciplinary Action. It has the speed bonus on hit, longer range, and crits while rocket jumping. However, it would have no random crits, 20% slower swing speed, and 25% less damage.

Ah yes my favorite TF2 weapon; the tampon
Almost four years since the Pryo update. Still nothing for Heavy, or...anyone for that matter
@@io3207 I'd say he's balanced overall, I just wish there were more alternative loadouts for him. He needs something like the wee booties as a primary replacement so he can be a true ph-at scout. Or a helmet that reduces Sniper damage to counter pesky snipers
Also, I think the brass beast should be buffed. It doesn't do enough increased damage to compensate for crippled mobility
@@SonofTiamat remove the booties aspect and replace it with a mobsters outfit now that would be rad wielding a shotgun moving like the speed of a medic while in style of a mob boss.
8 class updates to go, valve
@@cookiecrumbler2345 other classes have been updated before the pyro.

@@dkskcjfjswwwwwws413 valve hates fire? Then why does phlog exist
@@petersinkworking6198 Because Weta Workshop hates spies (and medics)
The fact the mini depensers got scrapped is agony, I remember seeing the demonstration for it back then and wanting it in game and now knowing it was planned is so HURTFUL
They used vscript to bring it back, basically workshop one click install. Even more easy for valve to add if they approve it.
Have you seen shounic's video about unused weapons? Surprisingly, there are some items mentioned here but not there, and vice versa. In his video, he mentions the DNA gun having completely different stats; not so much revolving around slowing a hit target, but allowing you to switch to their class by backstabbing them.
It sounds like SGO used the Tranquilizer Gun in TF2 Classic and assumed we adopted the stats straight from the DNA Gun? (we didn't, the stats on our Tranq are original)
@@UseZapCannon I don't think he said anything about how it was used in TF2C, just the original concept.
I might be wrong, though.
shounic missed a ton of stuff (throwable weapons) in his code leak video, which Tyler McVicker ended up going over. Though even McVicker missed a couple throwables in his video.
its really fun learning about stuff like this and wondering how different tf2 would be today
why did you have to toss brickiest brick the funny scout man in the pit
I do think that the Fly Swatter would have a damage bonus *only to the Engineer that has the full fly cosmetic*
Kind of like the Alien set for Pyro and Scout
I enjoy topics like this, nice work! Would be cool to have a tier list of worst maps in Tf2
or something
Seeing this video made me realize how much stuff we're missing on because of Valve's denial of TF2
check out TCRF's tf2 article that I've been tinkering away on if you want more heartbreak
I genuinely wish we had the Nail Gun for Scout. It would be interesting to have a different playstyle for Scout
It was fun to use back in TFC though it was damn annoying back when I was playing heavy and this scout kept running circles around me spraying that nail gun. It was still stupid fun though.
It's fundamentally identical to the pistol or smg (some early promotional art actually depicts scout with Sniper's SMG)
Skinny Heavy
Jokes aside tho I would probably have fun using the nailgun
0:56 Ron being brickiest brick makes the scene 2x more comedic if you know the CZcamsr and how wacky he plays scout
Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever get new weapons again.
depends if valve wants to acknowledge the games existence
cuz of that start modding boys... or making your own tf2 clones cuz valve and god left us and there is no way to get new updates lets just hope people gonna make good mods just like tf2 classic and etc.

@@sweaters_guy it already has a reskn
The spitfire could be used to nerf the Scorch Shot by taking on some of its stats, much like what happened with the Equalizer & Escape Plan
YES!
I wouldnt mind valve introducing some of these guns into the game even if they are really strong as long as they update like they used to
What pisses me off the most is that people are forgetting that valve didn't make a great deal of their own content. Look at the Battalions backup back in 2010, it was a workshop item someone created. So why can't they just do what they used to? They do it with hats and maps, why not actual content? I know the whole "spaghetti" argument, and maybe something drastically different such as new deadringer might not be possible, but a new item with slightly different stats like the iron bomber or liberty launcher is definitely still easily made, so idk why they don't do it.
I find it funny that you used the Mother 3 song "Formidable Foes," seeing as it is unused within the game.
For those who don't know, Formidable Foes is a variant of the used song "Formidable Foe (without the S)," played during the main boss of Chapter 2. There are many song variants based on other songs within the game. Why? The combo system. If you tap A (or L) in rhythm with the music playing after taking the bash action, you will deal multiple hits (each successive hit is weaker than the last) up to a total of 16 hits.
The variants based on other songs fuck up time signatures and tempos throughout the song to make doing combos harder.
Fly Swatter is like kinda reskin of Disciplinary Action in my theory.
I think it will fit the role as a Market Gardener reskin very well too!
@@Dante901 mmmnnnaahh that doesn't fit into the game. flyswatter just a whip sfx.

I get the feeling that Jungle Inferno released with half of its content missing, as if they were really pressed for time. A lot of those missing JI weapons sound awesome and I hope they come back one day (if a big update ever happens again, which it probably won’t)
The second I saw that scout I was like “HEY THATS BRICKIEST BRICK”.
Edit: also the fly swatter might have been a disciplinary action reskin
i would absolutely love for the heavy to get the assault cannon as a “the classic” style weapon, that sounds incredibly fun and interesting
4:06, probably the disciplinary action since they were released around the same time, and i feel like the stats for it would fit a fly swatter. probably got removed cause it was like "yeah this is cool and all, but like... we're releasing the same weapon with only a 4 month difference between the original version's release... seems kinda wasteful" and got rid of it. maybe i'm wrong tho and they just... didn't.
Definitely my favorite tf2 youtuber. Can’t wait for you to finally get some recognition on these awesome videos!

He one shot bushwacked me as a crit a cola scout in zombue rush lol
Fly swatted probably would have been a whip reskin, so rather then encourage players to run faster with the whip, you’d instead have a crazed soldier making people run away from you by annoying them with a fly swatter.
6:07
Afterburner stats I came up with a while ago
Flames use double ammo per particle
Airblast costs half price
Afterburn DURATION is doubled
Direct flame damage penalty
It's evil, yes... but "balanced".
And as for the spitfire... I think it'd work like the scorch shot in a way.
It would be different, however
Shoots rocket projectiles that deal blast damage on hit and explode, dealing flame damage and inflicting afterburn
Minicrits on launched or burning players
50% damage penalty
+20% damage to self (but it's like the detonator, again seriously the Detonator needs a light buff)
Less flare gun ammo (maybe down to 15 shots or something dramatic like that)
Slower reload while active (but switching off negates it)
Honestly it's like the Cow Mangler but tiny to my head. And less damage overall
The extra afterburn is evil especially since I like to play scout a lot of the time
But yeah, i do like the airblast buff though the flamethrower feels a bit too powerful, I think it could also have a downside where holding down m1 makes you slower kinda like the minigun and flare guns will decrease the afterburn time since that would be overkill if it didn't, but if they get too far away you can still finish them off with a flare instead of just holding down m1 the whole time, i feel like it would give the flare gun a bit more reason to use and maybe make people w+m1 less often
@@TexasBakedBlackBeans
I didn't say how harsh the damage penalty is.
It could be 60% or even 80%. It could be less flamethrower damage overall, or in fact, even if it's more overall, as long as the initial damage is less, that means you can put out the fire to have taken less damage. It's really not that op. Plus it's HALF the ammo... but you can pick up 35 from a small ammo pack and be unable to use 1 ammo since everything uses 2 or more
If only scout had a bat like the sandman that fired water balloons on m2...
Imagine that
Crits with Neon, setting out teammates, making spies visible, etc
I don't care if it does 5 damage, I want it
And even better... I want it to have max 10. Slamming 50 damage into enemies over 10 hits isn't that op (Though firing speed could be nerfed idk)
Just ask no scope snipers and sandman/wrap assassin crit glitch using scouts
It's not op.
It's just sad.
(Idc if they take 10 damage off the swing dmg I WANT THE WATER BALLOON BAT. It means I can counter pyros MUCH easier as scout without sacrificing my secondary AND I have a slight bit more challenge as pyro than "Too much collective damage", "Engineer gaming", "Fast boi got confidence", or "Heavy weapons guy" without it being TOO challenging)
5:56 in TF2’s code, you can actually find stats for this weapon.
You were able to charge an airblast, increasing its push force. This was most likely to be used with the Reserve Shooter.
Stats for the afterburner:
When airborne, you can aim ahead of you to propel yourself backwards.
Now we hope most of these, especially the scrapped Jungle Inferno items, see life again in the Heavy update
can't believe that's the last anyone will ever see of me ever again
Can we get an F in Chat for Brick?
Where is cementiest cement
Tbh I didn't even know who you were until I joined the server and someone said that you were in the server
Plot twist: the update Gaben was talking about is actually coming next week and will just release all of these weapons
Does anyone remember the time there was a poll of new weapons we would like to see before jungle inferno?
As for when the afterburner was supposed to be released, it was probably supposed to be released in the gun mettle update, was canned, was resurrected for jungle inferno, but that was also canned
8:50 is.... is this why melee prioritizes teammates?
No there's a stupid little line of a console command that has a 1 on it instead of a 0 that causes this issue.
In MvM its disabled for robots.
Monkey is exibiting Sheer Power Move at 1:55. If I'm first I'll let you know what my loadout is
Gotcha
Damn. I saw that but didn't realize he was there. Nice catch.
@@SpaceGuyOnline For Spy I run: The Patriot Peak, The Sky Captain, and The Lurking Legionare. Yes, those are two jackets laid on top of each other, I don't know why the game lets me do that but it does, with only slight clipping. If that causes too much issues in SFM, I have a second option for engineer. Just let me know.
jeez i went through the whole video and didn't see him there, well i was still 2 days late
I still think that Valve having 0 devs on the game and basically killing development of new actual content bothers me because it's been going for so long and makes em a lot of money yet they don't do shot.
Love the vids man, grats on 20k subs
All these things we could have gotten…and they just sit there 😔
I imagine the snipers boomerang would be a guillotine that comes back to you, could do anything from sandman stun to jarate but it just being a melee works too
Good work, I liked the video! And the Brickiest Brick cameo
I did not knew there were this many unused weapons. Nice vid, I was definitely not expecting the crowbar.
would make sense given how in tfc everyone outside of the spy and engineer had a crowbar as their melee weapon
I believe the fly swatter would've been a re-skin of "The Disciplinary Action". It could have been a cool meme weapon.
What a shame, the gunslinger would've been nice with mini dispenser

I clench my fists everytime i hear this line
Really wanted to see this topic brought up, thanks mate!
I love the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl bgm you're using, it's so nostalgic.
Idea, comp players would make keybinds that would instantly increase their mouse sensitivity to counter the tranq gun
Solution: cap rotation speed like Sea of Thieves did when people used the same workaround
But what about mice with sensitivity adjusters?
a weapon that messes up your sensitivity is really unfun
@@aSmallGreenDot exactly

The Specialist looks awesome. I'd take that as a stock reskin if nothing else.
I never heard of this beta stuff. Only stuff I heard is the stuff from the pre fortress 2 mod. On the wiki and the cutting room floor, and it never seen that stuff on there. The I only seen those models on a custom weapon servers (and the steam workshop because look on there alot). I never known that some of those models I seen actually got cut from team fortress 2. This is a pretty cool video and I learned a bit today.

THINK FAST CHUCKLENUTS
These are getting way better, way to go man!
Wow i didn't know they were so many unused weapons that came from jungle inferno
Does the gameplay footage of Doomsday in the background at 9:53 count as finding Poopy Joe, since he's technically supposed to be in the rocket?
The scout's backpack would have been hell considering the Scunts
Imagine that lime scout picking the health kit in front of you while you are dying burning or bleeding
Crowbar could easily be HL: A promo item, what a missed oportunity
10:33 yeah, thats a club. Show your sister and ask her.
Also, that crowbar 👌👌
This was a super informative video, thank you so much!
first sponsor in a very long time iv actually enjoyed
I really just want most of these weapons as unique ones, even if they don't come with the stats that were once planned for them.
Really can't go wrong with more weapon variety.
I imagine the afterburner and spitfire having airblast related bonuses
Like the flamethrower having increased airblast force and airblast jumps
While the flaregun could have crits on midair targets
I wish the catcher’s mitt and backpack were still in the game, I’d love to play as a support scout that deflected projectiles here and there or brought people ammo/health kits
Using the 'unused' upgrade station music nice touch
damn, scout's backpack sounds really neat. I think fly killer for soldier is a reskin for disciplenar punishming(thing that gives speed boost) Maybe even a set that would do something with people who wears fly set
Missed out on Pyro's Horticultural Prowess pack, which competed with the Gas Jockey during the Polycount update
The primary weapon's model was used by a Valve dev during a VR presentation at GDC some years ago.
The melee was seen in the F2P trailer, Pyro swings it on Gorge's last point.
The hat was used in official promo art in the blog somewhere, hell if I remember where though
fly swatter would probably be a reskin of the whip just look at the way hes holding it
I'm glad I watched this, believe it or not, this made my brain feel *better*
Great vid! Always nice to be early.
For those who don't know, the Brundle Bundle is a reference to the 1986 horror film, "The Fly". Starring a young Jeff Goldblum, this movie is just insanely good and truly horrifying.
All of Pyro’s primary unlocks give up airblast capability to enhance something else. It would be nice to see airblast enhanced for a change.
Like yeah, I was born this shit. I really love the airblast mechanic, and would it be epic if the new pyro flamethrower has an airblast with powerful push force... kinda imagined it as Dragon's Breath but their stats reversed.
Holy shit the mini dispenser sounds cool as hell. I’d love to see it added some day.
The fact that what was suppose to be a stock melee appears on the dispenser implies to me that your melee could break or be lot and dear god could you imagine
*Flyswatter would be a reskin of the Disciplinary action. Shape and sound effects would match a flyswatter and no other melee would bend when swung.*
Pretty good video, but there are quite a few things that you missed.
The trailer 2 dynamite was actually Demoman's cut primary grenade, the MIRV. There however *was* a cut demoman dynamite pack that would have acted essentially the same, but it used a different texture and was actually the demoman's secondary as opposed to a grenade. This model can be seen in Trailer 1. He may have also had a detonation button that this would have been used with.
DNA gun was nothing like the tranq gun, and its only similarity was the model that was shared between the two. The DNA gun was an experimental weapon that would mark players shot with it. When this marked player was then backstabbed, the spy would instantaneously switch to that class, hence the "DNA" part.
Although not weapons in themselves, they would have been the key points OF several weapons, so I'll include them: The Engineer, in addition to the mini dispenser, would have had replacements for the teleporter as well. In the leaked 2017 codebase of the game, there is code for several different attempts at both catapults and speed pads to replace the teleporter.
The code for what is presumably the walkabout actually fires projectiles instead of bullets. These projectiles would have moved at 3k hu/s. At full charge it would dish out 75 damage, a measly amount compared to the its base damage of 40.
The spy's decoy was likely used for MvM, and would have him create a decoy of himself that runs forward.
The spy had a PDA which would allow to build traps, also used for MvM. These include the spy trap, which would let teammates cloak, the pulse magnet, which would pull in enemies into its center, the reprogrammer, which would switch mvm bots to red team, and the repulsor, which we don't have info for.
The phase cloaking watch would allow cloaked spies to walk through enemies and could telefrag them if they uncloaked.
Like the spy, the Demoman had his own PDA, which would have been used for the cut Detpack, a large detonate-able charge that would have been used to destroy barricades.
The engineer had a replacement for the dispenser called the repair node, which we have the models for, as well as a render of with its temp textures AND a picture of with its finalized textures. This was set to appear in the engineer update, but was cut for not working in a satisfying way. There's even an entire blog post about this one.
The team flags would have once been used as melee weapons when being held. This was cut for balancing reasons, but the old flags still exist in the game, using pictures of developers' faces instead of team emblems.
The overhealer was a 2 nozzled medigun that would boosted the player's health up to a 200% overheal with no decay, with the caviat to this being the lack of an ubercharge.
The Conventional was a pistol replacement with references found in the scream fortress 7 texture_preload_list.txt. It is alleged on the tf2 wiki to be a spy weapon, but the workshop page shows it as a scout and engineer pistol replacement.
The Beer Stein was a melee weapon with an unknown class owner, although personally I would assume the Medic. It is exactly what it sounds like.
The brick was a brick you could throw.
The target dummy was a throwable explosive that would create... a target dummy at its explosion location.
The throwing knife was a knife that would stick to enemies upon being hit.
The paint bomb was a splatoon like paint weapon that would coat surrounding objects, the world, and players.
The repel was a throwable that would repel enemies wherever it landed, similar to the conc grenade from tfc/tf2's beta or the discombobulator from Trouble in Terrorist Town.
The water balloons and snowballs were... well, I think you can figure out from the names what they were, can't you?
The Fire retardant suit was a secondary for the spy that would make him resistant to fire and afterburn.
The Custom Targe was simply a chargin targe that could have decals applied to it.
The Mat-49 was an smg that would have been used by the medic. It can be found on several different unused models from the badlands props leak from Source Filmmaker, as well as in concept art.
The super SMG, super shotgun, and super nailgun were all high powered versions of various weapons that were tested at one point or another for various classes.
The mac-10 was the scout's original primary smg that was planned. By trailer 1, he used the sniper's smg. By trailer 2, he had the nail gun.
The engineer had a revolver. It is unknown what the model may have been but his viewmodel contains animations for using one.
Finally, although I'm sure this isn't all of them, the sniper had a sterling smg that was planned at one point. In the Australian Christmas update, animations in his viewmodel were found for a secondary smg that had a dangling strap and would be loaded from the side.
So, this is a conservative list of cut tf2 weapons that you missed, I also neglected to mention any of the grenades, which were their own system entirely. There is a lot to tf2's extensive development history, so good luck if you want to make videos about it.
I left a comment too about some mistakes he made, but man you went all in and really tossed in a ton of my research. thanks for that :)
I think the conventional being listed as a spy weapon on the wiki is just a copy paste error from when I made the article and should be corrected.
Custom Targe is actually the Heraldic Targe. That's been fixed on the TF2 wiki and tcrf. It took me a while to clue into the fact that the custom Targe files were for the Heraldic Targe. the name string was added at roughly the same time as when the filenames first appeared in the reslists.
DNA Gun is the 2nd iteration of the tranquilizer. And it is the weapon that the Dart Gun model is for. The "Dart Gun" is not an entirely separate weapon from the tranq and the DNA Gun, its just the model for the DNA Gun. that was a mistake I made early on, thinking it was it's own weapon.
Nice bible right there
I find it funny how that spy was like “really” when he was trying to body block your shots
The Nailgun never had a "clip" per se. It was mainly just eating out of the reserve with no reload.
The fly swatter was most likely a reskin of the dispensary action I think
As an engi main, it's depressing knowing we could've gotten a mini dispenser, but we didn't...
Oh wow look at all of those neat weapons that were scrapped.
It would be sure nice if someone could refurbish their designs and add them to the game in full so we can finally get the new weapons we've been holding out for.
I think I might know what the fly sweater was gonna be it may have been a reskin for the solders disaplanry action
Dame half the weapons sound really good and fun
Fly swatter would be cool as a sort of reverse market garden
The 'big mean mother hubbard' sounds like an older version of the widowmaker
with the backpack we could have gotten a new type of friendly, a scoot is probably what it would be called
I remember something about the dispenser model's ammo stash containing nail belts for the Scout's nail gun
Well this is a very shockingly huge quality leap
6:40 I want the dynamite stick, NOW, just make it the secondary slot, I can deal with it
Man, the Spitfire looks so cool, I'd definitely use it on my Pyro if it ever comes out officially.
