    What do you guys think: Camping or Hotels?

    • @mattuc1995

      I prefer hotel but I also haven't even tried to camp. Camping would just be a struggle with flying in and having to bring all stuff for camping. Went in 19 and 21 took premier shuttles both times. Even with the traffic on the highway, I don't think I was ever on the bus for more than an hour. Also I'll say its very entertaining walking past people in the hotel lobbies and hearing the different things they say to each other about all the outfits and what not lol.

      I just returned from EDC 2022, and we stayed on strip at Mandaly Bay because I had a comp from Mlife. I wanted to camp, but did not obtain passes in beginning, and then they were sold out. We opted to drive 9 hours to Las Vegas. We had our car, so we took turns with being designated driver and drove ourselves the first 2 days. On the 3rd day, we shared an uber with another couple, so we all could 'party' at our leisure and not worry about the transportation. First day, we left really early and parking line was a little frustrating but not too terrible. The parking lot seemed far away at the time, and poorly organized. We were walking through what felt like a construction zone, dusty, rocky and definitely uphill. The last part is steep and you go up into the stadium to enter the festival. The outdoor bathrooms, near the stadium are Not open. You then have to walk all the way down to enter the actual festival. If you drive, you can't really stay to the end of the festival, because you will get trapped. We literally had a car right stopped right behind us blocking us in for hours, that was in line to get out. Day 2 we drove, but arrived later because we stopped for dinner. The line was so bad to get in, that it took us about 90 minutes to go like 3 miles. We were parked so far out in the green zone, that it literally was over a mile away, by our map. I developed a blister so bad (WORST I've ever had) that I could not wear any shoe with a back for over a week. The 3rd last day we took the uber. They must can access a different zone, because they dropped us not terribly far away, but still, not curbside. Leaving was not horrible, because we left early. Taxis/Uber/Lyft can run $100 each way and more. -----There are some services like oneNonly that have a hotel/shuttle combo and possibly transportation to and from limited cities as well. I have not tried the official EDC SHUTTLES because I heard some negative reviews. Unless, you can go in a group on like a party bus, I can't see getting too and from event being as anything but painful. There were helicopter rides being provided by some company for $500 per round trip for 1 day, for those people that have ridiculous amounts of money to burn. I will camp next year for sure if I can manage to secure passes for 2023. Over all, with the way transportion costs have risen, along with congestion, I think I will always opt to camp, from now on.

      @MACMAMI Před 4 měsíci

      Camp EDC, no-brainer with me.
      Camp EDC coupled with EDC just feels like a complete, cohesive experience. the lone year I stayed at a hotel during EDC 2022, it just felt painfully awkward having to leave the speedway via the shuttle each morning which takes about 75 minutes one-way, walk through the entire Rio, continue down Flamingo Road over to Palms where I was staying and then dwell in "real life" for a while in-between festival hours. It just isn't the same, you know? I just like the feeling of my entire EDC experience being 24/7, non-stop from beginning to end. 😊
      On top of that, I always like to stay on the Strip a little before EDC as well as after EDC, so I'm definitely not missing out on the Vegas experience, as well as avoiding that ugly jet-lagging feeling of hurrying to the airport right after the festival grounds close. Before EDC 2023 I actually stayed at the Sahara for two nights before Camp EDC opened, and it gave me more than enough time to breathe everything in, take care of some last-minute errands including getting a spray tan and waxing treatments, as well as soak in some poolside action. Then right after EDC I stayed at the Horseshoe for a singular night and then Encore for three nights and my trip essentially shifted from festival mode to luxury mode: which made the trip as a whole feel full and vibrant. 😇

    The biggest PRO for Camping is hand down the fact that you can go IN AND OUT of the festival! You can go in when it starts, party and dance and go back to your camping site to nap or freshen up or even call it a night. You can go back into Edc at midnight or later if you wanted which I loved so much!

      Idk man. If you like to eat at nice fancy places and have options I would go with the hotel. Plus there’s clubs if you wanna attend pool parties at different clubs. But if you camp you don’t have to worry about Uber or getting over to the venue. You also have pre parties and after parties at the camp grounds… but food sucks. So it’s a give or take

    Showers at EDC: WAKE UP EARLIER AND BEAT THE CROWDS. Incredibly worth getting up earlier walking into a clean shower with very little people.
    Also, bring an inflatable mattress if you can. It’s so worth it. I brought a queen sized air mattress and the three of us in our tent (6’2” 350lbs friend, 5’10 160lbs friend, 6’0 220lbs me) we all had plenty of space on the mattress since we slept sideways.

    One more pro for staying on the strip and also only if you drive there, is entering the festival from the bleacher side!! I cannot express enough the energy and excitement that jolts through your whole body as you slowly come out and see the whole festival from this viewpoint and hearing the thunderous cheer all around you. Truly a surreal way to start an epic weekend 😍 Would highly recommend, especially for first timers!!

    Camp EDC in October last year was also my first time camping! The pre-party on Thursday was so much fun and it made me so happy and excited to get it all started.
    I’ve always stayed in hotels before last year and I would always drive and park at the event. The walking can be very long but understandable. Over 100,000 people go to this event every day so it’s expected to be in traffic and walk a lot and far and wait in long lines but it’s a part of the experience in my opinion.
    I’ll be staying in a hotel again this year and I’m as excited as if it were my first time going (I’ve gone to edc maybe 4 or 5 times)

    I went to EDC in 2021 and stayed at a Airbnb that was only $400 for the week and was about a 20 min drive from the festival. And was pretty close to the EDC shuttle service that we didn’t bother to use. What we didn’t calculate was traffic, that alone is the reason to stay at camp.getting ubers/ lyft was so hard. Especially if you’re under the influence trying to correspond with the drivers that also are having a hard time finding you was not fun for us. They have numbers and markers in the parking lot for rideshare but with so many people it wasn’t worth it.
    On the first day of EDC I wound up not feeling good and tried my hardest but left maybe 3 hours in and to have to wait for an Airbnb for 30mins instead of just going straight to camp sucked.
    Traffic on the last day was so bad, we couldn’t find the shuttle parking lot, the drivers were locked in traffic we eventually decided to walk about 2 miles down to the highway that wasn’t moving to try to see if any of the drivers we called were in the traffic for us to be picked up. There were other festival goers that fell asleep outside in the sun at the corners near the highway waiting too. We eventually got picked up by a bootleg Uber guy ( he had other festies in so we felt comfortable doing it) ( don’t recommend though) we were desperate. Took us 5 hours to get home that Monday morning.
    TLDR
    Just spend the money on camp EDC! No traffic and you can party longer!

    I will say, if you get the premiere parking pass, you can skip the traffic that builds up to exit for the festival with its own designated exit.. Soo worth the money. I've RV 30amp camped every year since it started and camping blows away anything going on on the strip. Between actual EDC and Camp EDC, the party literally goes on for 3.5 days straight. Also being able to leave EDC with a separate entrance and go back to your camp and then get back in, is worth it by itself

      So for camping in moonglow I believe our tent (and we split it by 4) was around $1350ish. + flight, festival ticket, Uber to and from airport and then food.
      Cost of hotel varies so much depending on where you book! We’ve done some places that we’re only like $250 each for 5 nights so that was a little cheaper than the camp, but we spent $99 on the shuttle pass OR when we did Ubers it varies every day and we split that.

  • @HeyitsMarioDiaz
    @HeyitsMarioDiaz Před 2 lety

    • @EmmaKapotes
      @EmmaKapotes  Před 2 lety +2

      Camping in Moon Glow was around $350-375ish a person for a 4 person tent. You can definitely find a hotel for a little bit less than that, but that's pretty good for the convenience.
      I saved anywhere from $100-150 on transportation by just being at camp and not having to do uber or shuttles. Also didn't have to spend extra on any nightclub or pool party entry.
      So probably saved a little by being at camp!

    HOTEL ALL THE WAY. and only going to the party after 1:00 in the morning to avoid traffic. and only spend a couple hours each night at the festival. it gets tiring fast...

    If me and my friends bought two tents is it possible to get them next to each other ? Or are they give out randomly ?

    • @EmmaKapotes
      @EmmaKapotes  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you just need to arrive at the same time and you can go up to the counter together and ask. We did that with our group and we got tents across from one another.

    Luxor is not mid strip lol.
    Also, way up Las Vegas blvd near the speedway, there is hotels that could have been recommended to avoid majority of traffic

    • @vk7891
      @vk7891 Před 2 lety +2

      The braiding was complimentary but be warned I waited in line for so long. There was a line already when it opened at 10am and I stood in line until 3pm to get them done. So just try to get in line before 10.

    Hey Emma, what’s a good time to shower?

    • @EmmaKapotes
      @EmmaKapotes  Před 2 lety +2

      I showered one day right when I came back from the festival so like 530ish and it was empty. I also did like 10-11 one day and there was a little bit more of a line. Mid day when people wake up is probably the most crowded

    • @trevorjktaylor10
      @trevorjktaylor10 Před 2 lety +1

      Always shower when you get back from the festival before you go to sleep. The showers were always empty at 4-7am. Once it hits 9-10am the lines are wild. I would also not shower from 2-4 just because everyone is getting ready for the event. We would sometimes shower at 6-8 and never had a line.
