      Ah this video isn’t specially on a single Mercedes, this is on the multimedia system. It’s found in loads of Mercedes. What model do you have and I can let you know which one is the right one.

    • @davesmith5656
      @davesmith5656 Před 6 měsíci

      @@npoleary ---- The system varies with models (classes), packages, and also with years and updates. I have the manual for mine, thank you. Is there anything wrong with stating the model and year you are demonstrating on? Some viewers other than myself might find it interesting to compare, and have the names of packages especially if they are in the market to buy, and know what comes with each. It's somewhat like demonstrating Windows, which varies significantly from version to version. In Mercedes, the hardware varies from model to model, too. It might be worth a separate video just comparing versions.
      One item in specific I'm curious about, that I have not found any mention of, is the location of the microphone.

    In an improvement perspective, you missed a nice one for radio, to list "text information", you share on another video you have.

We bought our 2020 GLE350 last year and your videos have allowed to learn all the features at our own pace (without having to trouble someone at our local dealership). Of course the easy entry and exit function basically just moves the seat and steering wheel out of the way when you turn the car off. When you get back in, it’ll go back the way you had it.

    Hi Nick,
    I have C-Class on order, and I am finding your videos extremely interesting while I am waiting for it. Superb insight into what I am looking forward to. (Although I suspect I will be waiting a while...)
    A quick question on the Sat-Nav component of MBUX. When I am planning journeys in advance I tend to enter destinations and waypoints into my present Sat-Nav system as coordinates, (ie. 50.382135, -3.596105), rather than as street names, POIs or Postcodes, because I find that they are far more accurate and specific.
    So, is it possible to enter destinations into MBUX as coordinates please? I didn't spot any mention of coordinates in the complete walkthrough video.

Thanks to your videos I am telling the sales person how things work. Having had BMW for the last 12 (2 650 coupes and 2 750s) the MBUX is a major learning curve and one thing I have not been able to figure out is how to name a destination favorite as I could do with BMW and you mentioned at 10:40 of your full MBUX walkthrough guide. For instance, my daughter’s house address, I saved it as a favorite but I want to see “Kristen’s House” as the label such as I see Work or Home in favorites. How can I do this? I can’t find it in the owners manual nor does the dealer know. Thank you again

    Hi Nick - new car for wife collected this morning and found that navigation instructions somehow seemed a bit late. This especially so on a large complex and busy roundabout where the 'take next turning' type instruction came a bit late for comfort. Prior to that I think the system did initially say take 3rd, 4th, etc. exit when joining the roundabout. Also where turnoffs are quite closely spaced you don't want to be told to turn off too soon. But, Is there any way to fine tune the extent of such advance warning? I use a late TomTom device myself and the advance warning somehow seems a bit better timed / more relaxed than the Mercedes system on wife's A200. I've seen your excellent MBUX full guide so suspect there no option to change the advance warning - like there is on some speed camera apps. Advice appreciated.

Purchased my GLA 250E from a non Merc dealer four days ago so you will understand my opening sentence. Would you recommend fitting a tracking device as I live in a London borough. I found these have soared in price and purchasing a 5 year contract is a bit on the expensive side especially as I am retired and the car is parked in a garage when not in use. Similarly, as a low mileage user, do I need to have a charging point installed at home? I used the normal charger and plugged in and in three hours I was fully charged. I look forward to your answer and thank you so much for the videos.

    • @npoleary
      @npoleary  Před 3 lety

      Ah awesome Jean! Glad you like the videos!
      It’s up to you with a dedicated tracking function to be honest. All Mercedes-Benz have the facility to locate the car on a map (part of the vehicle monitoring package, some models get it free of charge for 3 years)
      There is also a service called the Stolen Vehicle Help which your insurance company may allow you to have and subsequently reduce your premium. You can read more about it on the Mercedes me store and see if it’s suitable.
      Regarding a dedicated charging point at home, as long as you’re happy with how it is now, then you should be okay. If you want to take advantage of faster charge speeds then I would advise going for it, otherwise if you charge overnight then I’m sure you’ll be fine!
      Hope that answers your questions!

    hi, nick great guide for MBUX, just got my first A class last week and the guide was great for setting up my MBUX. But just one thing how the hell do you turn the radio OFF? Each time I start the car the radio comes on and have to mute it each time. your advice would be great thanks.

      Best thing to do in that situation is just select MEDIA and select the USB port. As long as you don’t have anything plugged in, it’ll just start silently 🤓

    Hi Nick. Do you know if the Dashcam feature that now shows as available on the new E Class will be made enabled on the CLA? I have just ordered a CLA200 Shooting Brake, Permium Plus and Drivers Assistance package, which is a couple of months away and wondered if it will be available by then. Thanks. Keep up the great work on you video's.

      Hi Ian,
      Really sorry but Dashcam is not available in the UK on CLA’s. I’ve heard rumours of something in the works, but we’ll have to see if anything happens.
      My fingers are crossed because that would be an amazing feature! If anything happens, I’ll cover it on the channel straight away!

    Hi Nick - your great videos have kept me entertained on the loooong wait for my new CLA which I took delivery of last month. Two queries on MBUX - is it possible to change the tyre pressure units on the 10.2” drivers display to PSI? and is it no longer possible to display full screen map on the drivers display? I only have two “red dot” options - map or previous destinations, no full screen.

      Hey Steven, thank you! Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
      No sadly being built and designed in Europe, Mercedes only have the measurements displayed in KPA which is quite common over there. KPA is more accurate anyway and the fuel filler cap will usually show both on there for easy conversions.
      With the Sat Nav going full screen, sadly it’s only found on certain specifications as I’ve found that it wasn’t on every model.

    Off road score and energetic comfort screens are missing on my fully loaded 2021 GLS 580, and I do have E-Active Body Control, off road package and air balance package with fragrance and ionization.

      Hey Soyuz,
      Ooo wow very nice!
      Really sorry, there’s no such thing as a GLS 580 here in the UK :(
      There’s only a GLS 400d and a Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 here. My guess is that the specification might be different in other countries? Sorry wish I could offer some assistance. You could always speak to your local dealership, they might be able to help?

      @@npoleary Thanks for the reply. We ordered it in January 2020, were told that we should expect delivery in May. But with everything goings on, it ended up December built and a 2021 model. In 2021 some dealer codes changed and we were unable to order a heated/cooled 2nd row cup holder with our Executive Package Plus. It is no longer listed as available option on Mercedes website in the US. Energizing Comfort was another code that disappeared from our original 2020 built. They must have changed somethings in 2021, now that Maybach is available, they want to give people the reason to buy one instead, and are stripping down the regular GLS.

      Ah I see
      That spec is a little different to what I know of in the UK! But yes it can change in the factory throughout the year when a change comes in.

    I find your videos so informative. Thank you. I hope to have my 2021 GLE 450 by the end of June. I park in a public garage where I have a remote to open up the garage door. In my current Audi Q5, they were able to program the car at the dealership using the remote so that I could use a button inside the car to open the garage door. Do you have a video on how to program a garage remote?

      Unfortunately Mercedes don’t have that facility (well not in the UK anyway) hard to tell where everyone’s from on CZcams! 😅
      Spec can vary from country to country so that could be different elsewhere.

    First of all allow me to gongrats you for your amazing job!! It's really appriciating! A tiny question for you. I am the owner of a new new CLA 180 coupe with mbux on it. It is not possible to hear me when I call #hey mercedes#. If I use the relevant key on steering wheel , the voice helper can hear me (not 100% good but ok) and performs the order. The voice is activate from system settings (LINGUATRONIC). Haveyou any idea or I have to see my local dealer?? Thank you in advance!!

    • @npoleary
      @npoleary  Před 3 lety

      Mmm that’s strange, there is the menu option in the LINGUATRONIC menu to turn this off and on but it should be on by default. The activation phrases are “Hey Mercedes” or “Hi Mercedes”.
      If it’s not working, speak to your local showroom, I’m sure they can help!

    Hi Nick, does the MBUX Navigation have a speed camera detection? Where there is an audible sound to show there is a camera ahead or a camera sign on the Sat Nav? I couldn’t see this as part of a subscription on the Mercedes Me app either?

    • @npoleary
      @npoleary  Před 2 lety +2

      No sadly Speed Camera detection is illegal in Germany where Mercedes-Benz are made and designed so naturally isn’t found in any German car in the world.
      Best thing if you can is to use Smartphone Integration in this video: czcams.com/video/4wgA6bku3pI/video.html
      Using Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze allows this in the car so is kind of a workaround 🤓

    Hello Nick . I’m new to your channel but have watched quite a few since buying a week ago a Hymer 2019 Mercedes 177 auto with a Sprinter chassis and Mbux10.5 nav and Apple play on reduced size screen ( pity ) . Quick question the vehicle is LHD from Netherlands but first registered new in Uk 2019 with apparently 24k miles according to MOT . My question is is the odometer in Kilometers or miles ie can it be changed from one to the other ? Many thanks

      Hey! Thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos!
      Sadly I’ve not ever involved Mercedes Commercial vehicles on my channel. I know they have some similarities but the only thing I can suggest is have a look on the central screen.
      Home
      Settings
      System
      Units
      And see if it’s listed there
