Great memories of my early aviation days. I just kept on saying "Flew on that ... and then ... that ... etc" . Thanks for taking me down memory lane. Now I am 81 ... I went from props to Concorde ... how lucky I was.
best era ever for aviation , all this beautiful different tapes of jets , not like today's they all look the same just different size , thanks for the video excellent.
Although jet engines were a huge leap forward in technology, this video shows how primitive jet engine technology was in the 60s. Nearly all jetliners had no or low-bypass engines where now, nearly all jet airliners have high-bypass engines. Many with bypass ratios of 10:1 or more!
I had the privilege of being one of the first to fly from Paris to JFK on Air France's new 747s. I remember how astonished we were at the size and comfort of the cabin, but even better was the excellent food and service. Everyone in coach were served filet of beef; and later in the afternoon, a cold buffet was served that included caviar, pate-en-croute and all the champagne you wanted. Just. Amazing. I can even still remember the kind faces and friendliness of the cabin crew. The 747 was an amazing experience after flying the Atlantic in 707s.
There will never be another airframe as safe and reliable as the 747.. Sad knowing their time is coming to a close...I also miss the C-141 that I was a crew chief on..
This is lovely. I particularly enjoyed the L-1011 shots (I miss them so much). Plus, 747s, 707s and the Super VC-10, which was a treat. Thank you for compiling this video!
Michael Morris L-1011 was way ahead of its time, the issue with the Rolls Royce engines and the MSRP caused an amazing airplane to never get the deserved purchases.
Tullamarine Airport looks great ! Not much changed in the surrounding scenery even after 30 years in 2017. Made me quite nostalgic. I love this airport.
Wow!.. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful flying once was. Fantastic Airlines, Incredible Aircraft, Phenomenal Service.. What an amazing Customer Service Experience that must have been. No wonder people got so dressed up to travel. It really did go both ways..
World in my Eyes by Depeche Mode. This is the long disco version. Hook this video to your stereo for dancing. Dancing while watching classic jetliners.
Fantastic video. It's so much more crisp than most I have seen from the era, so I don't mind the HD terminology at all. I had never heard that Depeche Mode song but it's awesome. Really great work and so rare these days. Thanks for it.
Boeing 707, what a beautiful plane. I like the 727 the most though, for its time it was amazing and powerful. The 747-100 is in a league all its own though, its THE most gorgeous plane ever made.
magnificent footage of Melbourne airport the greatest era in aviation.Fantastic video great music love to see more of MELBOURNE around this time.congratulations
wonderful pictures!!................it was the great era of jetliners!!!!!!!!!! dc 8. b 727.l 1011......and others ...such a goods souvenirs...........
Great compilation and very clever choice of music. 80s Depeche is so perfectly matched to the era depicted.. I travelled on that featured SAS 747-Combi LAX-CPH while listening to New Wave music..
Look how clean and beautiful the Worldport looks with all of those gorgeous 747-121's! After college I got addicted to traveling and went everywhere i could. I figured out a way to travel on Pan Am in business class for free by taking advantage of some holes in their frequent Flyer program. I wintered in Rio and summered in Europe. It was a blast! And oh yeah, I flew Concorde. This made me cry with happiness.
Great video. I had the pleasure of flying on a few of the Airlines and aircraft depicted in the video back in the 60s and 70s. I have also had the pleasure of flying some of the aircraft depicted in the video since I began my flying career back in the 80s. Great memories.
I've always thought the Boeing 707 was a sharp looking aircraft. They have a reserve Air National Guard Refueling squadron at our airport KC-135's. I love watching them take off and land. Very cool aircraft!
Thanks Lyubomir.....great visuals, great music, great nostalgia, I worked for Ansett back in the day and loved every second of being on the ramp. As a plane loving teenager being up close & personal with a DC9, DC10, 727, F28, 747 and 747 SP, ATR 42 and truly the weirdest plane I had ever encountered at the time an Argossy Freighter was a dream job
Amazing footage. Ansett and chance it plus Try Another Airline! Takes me back. Also interesting to see Concorde prototype and VC10 at Tullamarine (I think?)
Francisco, thank you very very much!! You create an so beautyfull and becaus of the Music so magic Video!! I could felt my child Memorys so much intensiv!!
I can’t believe the Eastern Airline 747 was part of this. That’s a true gem because they leased it from Pan-Am for a very short period and yet it’s on this video.
Great video...music fits it nicely...the Delta Air Lines 747 has always been the most beautiful of any airline's (video has a brief image of it)....would love to have seen some DC-10's, L-1011 TriStars....and, of course, those most famous propliners still working into the '60's and early '70's. Thanks for posting!
I would have done the same. Sadly I've never even seen a VC 10 but I read somewhere that the feeling at takeoff was different, what with 4 rear-mounted engines.
My favourite aircraft of the 1970's were.. Boeing 707.. 727.. 747.. McDonald DC-10.. MD-11.. Vickers VC-10.. Hawker Siddley Trident.. Lockheed L-1011 Tristar.. and the Concorde.
Some of these aircraft were far noisier on takeoff than ANY of today's aircraft. So for those of you that still complain about airplane noise, I have a suggestion: LET'S BRING THE 727s, THE BAC 1-11s, 707s, VC-10s, THE DC-8s, AND THE CONCORDES OUT OF THE MUSEUMS AND RESTORE THEM BACK INTO FULL OPERATIONAL CONDITION. You just don't know how lucky you are.
Liveries from this era were much more beautiful than today's. I love polished metal undersides and engine nacelles.
Good old times 🙂
Brilliant film - love these old birds. Those were the days. Proper planes 4 engines, tri Jets.. even the original Concorde...the lot.. Superb
Ok so personally I'd way much rather hear the jet engines roar.
Wow I wish I lived through these years, AWESOME!
Although jet engines were a huge leap forward in technology, this video shows how primitive jet engine technology was in the 60s. Nearly all jetliners had no or low-bypass engines where now, nearly all jet airliners have high-bypass engines. Many with bypass ratios of 10:1 or more!
Love this video, watch it over and over
Very Good Video....I just loved it..and I worked for American in the 1970's...So Cool...Thank you so much

la mejor compilación que he visto! y la música... Dios!!!

777?
Thank you. Fantastic movie! Great to see.

I love the passengers walking away from the Lufthansa 707 at LAX, seemingly to the beat of the soundtrack.
Fantastic video. It's so much more crisp than most I have seen from the era, so I don't mind the HD terminology at all. I had never heard that Depeche Mode song but it's awesome. Really great work and so rare these days. Thanks for it.
Best, best, best aviation music video ever!
Boeing 707, what a beautiful plane. I like the 727 the most though, for its time it was amazing and powerful. The 747-100 is in a league all its own though, its THE most gorgeous plane ever made.
you are genius Mr. Lyubomir Ganchev
Wish I was old enough to remember these great times!
magnificent footage of Melbourne airport the greatest era in aviation.Fantastic video great music love to see more of MELBOURNE around this time.congratulations
Brings back many memories when I was a young lad......
Great montage. Good footage of early days at Tullamarine. Ansett. TAA. QANTAS 707 and 747 too.
70's video with an 80's soundtrack! Love this!
Some of the best airliner porn out there!
10 out of 10
LOL. So true! Excellent film, and I love the soundtrack.
Luc Gaudreault
agreed!
My vote goes to the Untied DC-8-50 landing -- the most gorgeous plane ever. Also love the Convair 990.
fantastic gratuitous shots ! great compilation
Love that old 747 with Delta air lines. My very first flight was with Delta. Memory for life...
Fantastic clip! So many memories..
Oh to be a business traveler back then on all of those wonderful and uniquely different aircrafts. Would have been amazing
wonderful pictures!!................it was the great era of jetliners!!!!!!!!!! dc 8. b 727.l 1011......and others ...such a goods souvenirs...........
Great video...such high quality for that era. Flew on most of those planes and airlines way back then.....
Great compilation and very clever choice of music. 80s Depeche is so perfectly matched to the era depicted.. I travelled on that featured SAS 747-Combi LAX-CPH while listening to New Wave music..
Great Memories with some of the greatest airlines, Thank you!!!
2:28 - 3:25 Amazing (and almost haunting) shots of those beautiful 747s creeping through the fog lol
Reminds me of the Tenerife crash, it was also a foggy day.
I find this very peaceful
Look how clean and beautiful the Worldport looks with all of those gorgeous 747-121's! After college I got addicted to traveling and went everywhere i could. Brilliant footage and music.
love all of the Pan Am jets, also love your choice of the Depeche Mode soundtrack :)
Love the TAA and Ansett planes around a new Melbourne Airport
cool seeing those old Australian airlines
Iconic Pan Am... Legendary Pan Am... Missed Pan Am...
This is one terrific piece of work. Great!
Awesome video! Well coordinated.
Before running out of business, Ansett livery was very gorgeous ! I saw one of them at Brussels airport late in the 90's...
Great video. I had the pleasure of flying on a few of the Airlines and aircraft depicted in the video back in the 60s and 70s. I have also had the pleasure of flying some of the aircraft depicted in the video since I began my flying career back in the 80s. Great memories.
Fantastic video. I enjoyed the music too.
Well I am the one who made this compilation! :) Glad You like it!
Thanks for your work Lyubomir. I will add your name to the video description
Thank you so much, Lyubomir. I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am. I'll be reminiscing for weeks.
really really thank you and many congratulations, excellent job, hope to see other footages from you
Thank you very much for this one. :)
VH-RMS = Ansett Australia Boeing 727 - 100 QC, my old airline. Great Vid !
I've always thought the Boeing 707 was a sharp looking aircraft. They have a reserve Air National Guard Refueling squadron at our airport KC-135's. I love watching them take off and land. Very cool aircraft!
9:25 VH-EBC was the first aircraft I ever flew on. March 1972, from Sydney to Singapore. She was a brand new aircraft back then.
@Joseph Stalin. So sad. So true :(
Thanks Lyubomir.....great visuals, great music, great nostalgia, I worked for Ansett back in the day and loved every second of being on the ramp. As a plane loving teenager being up close & personal with a DC9, DC10, 727, F28, 747 and 747 SP, ATR 42 and truly the weirdest plane I had ever encountered at the time an Argossy Freighter was a dream job
Thanks good video. Airplanes look very elegants
And people too
What a bunch of nice Legacy Carriers 747's great footage

Video and soundtrack are epic. Love this.
I'm only 12 and I bet my papa remembers these planes
Bom trabalho merece um like 👍
I'm really digging on these jams...kick asss
This is such a cool video. Brought back so many memories of the carriers I used to fly with as a kid.
That was so awesome.
I am really not a fan of music to aviation videos but boy you made me change my mind. The pace of the music fits perfectly with video.
Couldn't agree more.... normally I hate the music, but this was really good!
The music was oddly brilliant
That Peter North is amazing! LOL
Amazing footage. Ansett and chance it plus Try Another Airline! Takes me back. Also interesting to see Concorde prototype and VC10 at Tullamarine (I think?)
At about 3:38 is a very rare bird. Eastern 747 touching down. I believe those were leased from Pan Am. Great video.
To be honest, first time I noticed! Thanks for your coment!
Francisco Cunha You're welcome. I've been trying to identify any that I can.
Great video
The 747 engines @ 4:35~ are real vintage, rare but good VID and thanks, from Japan (kind of late to find though).
The 747 and L-1011 are the best classic planes
Would give this TEN thumbs up if I could! Great work and thank you! :-D
Francisco, thank you very very much!! You create an so beautyfull and becaus of the Music so magic Video!! I could felt my child Memorys so much intensiv!!
Tremendo video te mandaste. Te la comiste demonio. Eres un crack.
The 747 and L-1011 are the best
I like the video (and the soundtrack!) Although I miss some of the planes on that period, like the DC-10, for example. In general, I like it.
I can’t believe the Eastern Airline 747 was part of this. That’s a true gem because they leased it from Pan-Am for a very short period and yet it’s on this video.
It was mad if u had a job in the airlines u got everywere got where u wanted to go on a smile
There's a Tristar
Alte Jetliner sind cool
The 747 remains the most wonderful of all the aeroplanes.
I got Rome -London by Ghana Airline only to fly one of the last VC-10 ....
I would have done the same. Sadly I've never even seen a VC 10 but I read somewhere that the feeling at takeoff was different, what with 4 rear-mounted engines.
great video
I think Sean wanted to follow Jill. 😄
James bond scene is the best
Better with ATC recordings or jet sounds, js! Still great! Btw, @ 2:38 no takeoff lights in fog???
Muito bom
parabéns pelo Vídeo
My favourite aircraft of the 1970's were.. Boeing 707.. 727.. 747.. McDonald DC-10.. MD-11.. Vickers VC-10..
Hawker Siddley Trident.. Lockheed L-1011 Tristar.. and the Concorde.
These classic 747 planes👌
At 7:11 that DC9 is still active technically just not registered. The other two next to it are in plane heaven(scrapped).
hehe love the clip at 0:54 with James Bond/Sean Connery being accosted by what looks like police...
lvsluggo007 it's from the movie "Diamonds are Forever". Came out in 1971.
Well the Lockheed L-1011 is fer sure pretty bitchin. I like the way she sits on the tarmac.
