Thanks for watching!
Merlin the real Diesel Whistler!
What a fun video! Thanks for the laughs, Dave! Merlin hope your shoes dry out. Leather with patina will be great for your model A’s.
Diesel soaked shoes can make for an interesting ride home unless you toss them in the back. Diesel isn't very good for the floor mats and carpet either. Helps synthetics and plastics more quickly return to their original form.
Best!
😂😂
You boys be careful down there in that furnace…..the world needs all of your magic to keep us going!👍🏼👍🏼😃
So many things in life we are scared of. If we just try more often than not we surprise our selves. Having someone around to build you up helps alot. Great job boys.
Chichen Merlin, I can’t stop laughing 😂, the dog peee on your shoes, lol funny stuff mam,,,, let’s go , brother, thanks BigAl California.
Merlin for the couch win. Thanks for taking us subscriber's along for the ride. Always a adventure in every video. Love the channel. Keep up the great work. ✌️👍🤙🤙😁😎🍀🍀🍀🍀🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲.
Try putting the opening of fuel container up top and pour. It works way better than what Dave was doing. It allows air to go in container and prevents the gargling of the liquids. Try it it will work. 33:35
Put the opening at the top when it's full. Use the side once there's some airspace. Slightly better control. I've probably left 50 comments on different channels about pouring liquids without spilling. Use a funnel. Pour with the spout at the top.

Yep that’s correct!
truly awesome seeing Dave & Merlin back together, Dave was so greatfull to have Merlin work his magic and fix his car, honestly Merlin that was wholesome seeing his face when the car fired up, free leather is definetly a score, thanks for sharing
U guy like teens lol but having fun. an learning at same time right .
It so wonderful to have friends like McKay!!!
My wife scored a "free" player piano a while back. She wanted parts off of it for an art project. It took me 3 days to take it apart. My lower back still hurts. Our humidity is way up with monsoon storms every day. We don't get your frying pan temps but 80% humidity at 92 degrees is awful. My buddies in Alabama and Mississippi are laughing.
That was the greatest motivational speech at 22 minutes I've ever heard. Merlin, your spirit is the spirit of America.
It's a toss up between Rory,
Colt Cever and magical Merlin 🤠
Stuff like that towel business are part of why I love watching. Also the diesel spill. Someone call Greta! :p
That was such a funny story- hidden treasure beside the road in an old couch!
Glad to see my favorite semi old person work on cars & trucks and what ever else he does.😃👍👍
“Just like the bride you wanted for all eternity.” Bahaha!!!
"A beautiful bride that you want for.. eternally... for your life" 😂😂😂
-FTFY
Merlin is a great moral pumper upper! It's like the old saying, if you don't play, you can't win! And if you can't win, you don't play! Dave's got a good friend in Merlin. Makay you and Merlin. Make a great team! I swear I don't know how you guys handle the heat! Please don't give yourselves a heat stroke! We need your videos and your knowledge that comes with it! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
It’s been hot this month, 107 here in Vegas is hot enough for me. Got to carry a cooler every where you go, hot stroke is not fun. Be safe and hydrated guys !
Paul needs an alarm system!
He likely has security cameras around the property. In that area, a local thief would likely be recognized if they broke into his shop. I'm sure Merlin called ahead to inform the Rats about early arrival. In most of the rural west US, unknown late night burglars risk being confronted by a guy in his PJs with an elk hunting rifle and bear spray.
Dave's ode to Merlin was hilarious!
Kool tour of the rats house. killer cadet, literally. what a piece of magic model a. two old biscuits in the sun, makin money, and catchin the mouse. Thanks for sharing. Be well.
I spray painted some parts yesterday 115 in the shade and then moved them to the solar oven to bake the finish on. 😂 The parts got up to 145 in the sun...not quite powder coat temps.
Dave is, without a doubt, a happy camper now that his Model T is up and running again. Merlin, you are a great guy!! Who'd-a-thunk picking up an old couch would be so intertaining?! LOL!! Yup, us south central Missourians have a good idea what heat and humidity is about. I don't like it either but it's better than snow!! LOL!!
I gotta agree , former resident of Branson Mo 😝
I have lived in the high Rocky Mountains for 58 years, and I spent 2 months, July and August, in Clinton OK in 1982. Personally I’d take snow any day, I can always put on a coat, but when it’s hot it’s hot. If it gets over 70 degrees it’s too hot for me.
It's a Model A
I’ve always liked Dave on the show he didn’t know much about cars and he would admit it but he would try his best at whatever he was working on
Merlin is the friend who brings you up as you learn to fix up your stuff.
Gotta love barber Dave he was always good for a laugh on the show.😂
It would be fun to take the stuff you found in the couch back to its home! Just stick it in the mailbox.
I guess you could return the couch skeleton too! LOL
I laughed so much the way Dave stressed. When it started, you could see the full release. Thanks for sharing this video!😅😊
It’s only July and Havasu is getting Hot.
You gotta love Lake Havasu. Thanks Merlin, you too McKay
I always learn something new every time I watch your videos, no since I reached the big 70 I have gone to get my ladder to get into the bed of my truck, even with the tall gate down, but when I watched you step on the tire first, I had to go right out(well next morning) to try it!! So I did and low and behold after the third trail "I did it!" Thank you!! Chud a lug, my head still rings!!🤠🤠
I love it when you get over there to fukk with Paul and the Crew.
Good show,
Good content. ❤🎉
Barber Dave is a total menace,
Dennis the menace with a side show Bob.
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Hi Merlin. That was great helping Dave out. Lots of good stories. He looked like he needed a friend. Nice score on the leather from the couch! The last recliner I salvaged had a bunch of good angle iron in it and I got a whole box full of 1/4x20 bolts and nuts out of it. I'm still using that stuff!
We love that Vista cruiser with the Christmas tree on top during Christmas in St George, he must be down from our old neighborhood, keep it up brother!!!
$4 a gallon. Here in U.K. we $8.50 a gallon average. Anyway brilliant long video Merlin. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Dave is killing me! I love this guy 😂
"This is stupid fast! Is that the brake?" LOL Classic.
Merlin, the music magician you got that model running again you can just see by the expression on the guys face how happy he is good job Merlin
I could not stop laughing the entire video. I remember watching you guys on the tv show yrs ago. Dave was the barber/upholstery guy. He used to get all bummed out when Steve wud hire someone else to come do the upholstery and not him. Lol. I loved that show.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, fun with Merlin and friends 😁 good work 👍😁 it's here cooking hot too in Poland.
Nice recycling video! And thanks for sharing a variety of stuff this week as always look forward to your videos!
Had the same couch 18 years ago, but it had a hideaway bed in it. Belonged to a live in girlfriend that lived with me a couple years. I hated that couch, but it was better then what I had at the time. She moved out, I had a new decent cloth couch within a week. So glad to see her and her dumb couch I stuck to constantly in my shorts leave.
Merlin is good at taking wrenches out of people’s hands like they don’t know anything
That deiseal motor sound almost like one of the original flat head 4 cylinder motors that the Model A's came with.
Actually that Monopoly money has more value than the American $100 does anymore
Right on Merlin... thanks
Boy he was one happy guy !!!
Entertaining as always fellas. Dave and his many ‘dudes’ and laugh attacks makes me wonder if he inhaled a little too much smoke! Diesel smoke, of course. 😆.. Florida holding steady around 90 degrees and 80% humidity today. Storms coming later.
Merlin.... I just luv yer old stories... 😆
How did I know that hunk of vinyl (leather?) was gonna be BROWN! Everything at MOSG is brown these days! 😄
Oh Merlin you had your wife surching for the hundred dollars that you guys said you found in the couch and when she seen it was Monopoly money she definitely did not think that was very funny and went straight back inside!! That was hilarious!!! Sorry mama bear!!!
Found a couch just like that and harvested the leather and foam pad for my 66 C-20 project truck.
dude it looked like the light switch for the shop was right there in the break room next to the door before you walk in hahahaha
Humidity is the worst part of NJ summer. It doesn't even get that hot here, just high humidity.
This is the funniest video ever seeing you two fill up those fuel filters was hilarious
If the cub cadet was way to fast then why was Merlin grinning from ear to ear 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Love it! I cant wait to see you use that leather material up on a project. What and awesome score. Thank you Mckay! Thank you Merlin!
Glad to see I not the only one that rips old couches and love seats , up for the leather to use on other stuff!!! door panels ,seats ,center consoles so forth and sew on lol
a Model A with a diesel in it just seems to be so right 😀👍
I couldn’t even imagine living there in the summer! Rest of the year I can see the perks!
I'd rather be hot than cold. Cold is to the bone.
Merlin Today in Canada I bought2 gallons for my lawn mower and other half for Premix fuel 22.00 dollars , Can we all say Trudom PM -is a useless thief .
For a few years I worked on a mobile car crushing crew. We went from junkyard to junkyard with a mobile car crusher. Since they were all going to be crushed we always did a last chance scavenge. Change was one thing we always checked for. I became pretty efficient at it. Pop the back seat out, check under it. As you know the old front bench seats had a single piece of fabric that went from the seat back to the underside. The quickest way to deal with that was to jump in the back and just slice it open with a utility knife all the way across. Everything would just drop to the floor. I did that one day with a big Olds. $23.68 in change fell to the floor. We had coffee money for 2 weeks.
Man, you found it… the holy pump…. Generations looking for it, and you found it… so great to see 😂😂
I lived in Long Beach too , 4 th and cherry, for a for a while , and I had freinds at Paramount Street(cherry turns into Paramount) a place called Cougle shop, Dan mark and good ol Barney, he road a ol matchless side shift with a ol dog on the tanks with shag carpet on the tank, that was good ol days, thanks BigAl California.
Barn wood and couch leather makes the greatest rat rod interior
I put a kids dresser on our corner with a nice TV with sign that said free. 600 cars drive by twice a day to go to Homer Laughlin China and it sat all week. So on Monday afternoon I changed the signs . Dresser $50 TV works as should $30.
I was in the house long enough to take my boots off and they both were gone
Dave was the only reason I ever watched Welderup......❤️🇺🇲
That cow musta been HUGE. Easiest $100 ever.
It was free .99!
They don't throw away horses hides.
Looked like it was earned hard to me.
Great fun, you had me remembering the times I found money in backs of old cars at the scrap yard, wreckers when I was a kid, my dad was hunting for car parts, and I'd be off with one of his Philips and a flat screwdriver taking back seats out all down the line, it was almost a guaranty I'd find at least a quarter in one but always more. Back in the 70s cars were used for cross country adventures and kids lost their match box cars and crayons and yes money.
But the biggest cash find to date is 15 $20 dollar bills under the front mat of a $500 old work van I bought to store my tools in.
Oh right , my brother in-law would come by on Sundays, rent dad's recliner all day and sleep ... I soon found out that he would lose all his change he did that for months, before I let on one time and then he stopped 😁 off the top of my head he had to have lost well over $50 maybe more. Lol! I looked at it as rent for the chair.😎 pss I have repurposed many old leather chairs 👍👍👍
Merlin you are a very knowledgeable man.
@ 16:06 I have to tell you a little story, when I was 18 I was given my first car , the current year was 1971 the car was a '65 Olds no options bare bones it had a V-8, I had to get a short block and my Uncle Bob put it in, I had 2 years of auto shop in school but no facilities to work on cars. I always went to my uncle Bob for advice on the car as he was my stepdads brother and personal mechanic, lol. Anywho I went to him for advise always he never let me down, but some times I was the butt of his jokes, when I was 32 I was stumped with a mystery on my auto transmission and went to him for help( this was a year newer car) He had just got done eating supper and said well what's your question I told him my dilemma, he says something that totally shocked me, he thought about it for a minute and shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know you know more about this than me, I'm just a wrench turner you've studied these cars for 12 years, I said thanks and left for home and on the way I cried because I was an equal rather than a kid still wet behind the ears my name is Bob also he's 15 years older and we share the same birthday, we both went to collage to be auto mechanics ,I worked at a window factory for 50 years he retired from East Jordan Iron Works. A funny thing the next time you see a manhole cover check to see who made it , it'll say EJ iron works. They made them all save just a few.
The diesel knowledge you have. Absolutely phenomenal. A wealth of knowledge
And agreed, couches always have money 😂
I feel Makay about "leaking" the heat index is 111 here in SC with 95% humidity. Its BRUTAL!
Fun video! Love how you get excited over someone else's junk!! 💯👍
Back in the early seventies, the town of Forks Washington paid me to remove a old trailer from their trailer park. The prior renter had left it trashed pretty bad so it was deemed too bad for rental purposes. I towed it to my shop and figured to see just what might remain inside of it. From what I was told, the guy rented it and then sold pot from it. I pulled the drawers out from under the bed as this is one of those narrow twelve foot wide trailers. The guy who had used it before was in jail. I opened up the first drawer and found miscellaneous fives and tens in it. the middle drawer tho was score! twenty thousand dollars still wrapped in the strips from the bank. I am thinking this is as good as it gets. Well the trailer had mice problems and so we start tearing the wall out as its all going into a burning barrel and there was the score... more money the mice had packed into that wall. Over another ten thousand dollars that had chew marks on it but still able to take to a bank for replacement. Amazingly the mice had not ruined it completely as some was but for the amount of money found... yes I kept my mouth shut and put that money to good use as my old truck was dying and other stuff needed repairs so it all went to a good cause.
I didn't think about using leather from old couches to repurpose for upholstery in old rigs... great idea.
Thanx for sharing your experience with your business
Great Find on the leather
Stay hydrated, PLEASE
Have a Great Day 👍
See ya next week 🤪
Do a video where you set a iron skillet in the sun and see how fast you can cook an egg!
You gave me such a good idea how to repulse for my Ford seat? I'm gonna keep my eye out for a leather couch. But yeah, Havasu is I'm just a little hot at this time of year. I used to run that river.
River from Parker.
To bullhead City delivering car parts for the junkyards.
As someone who has lived in the same area you’re currently in and now living in the south I’d take 120 with no humidity over 95 with high humidity
Thanks for beautiful scenery
Most people don't realize this but here in Southern Ontario it gets disgustingly muggy in the summer. You will be soaked through your T-shirt in 5 minutes. If it can go a couple of weeks without rain then it's not bad it's a dry heat.
So great to enjoy the laughter with you !!! Snort, splash
OK, So you learned this old man a new trick! I'd never thought about repurposing a leather couch before! Now, if I only knew how to sew, and had a machine!
I tried to like this video 3 different times LOL Watching you guys tear this couch apart is reeeaalll close to tweaker TV LOL keep up the good work
It's great to see Dave again.
50% humidity oh boy try 90% we had last week 😭😪😅😂😅🤣it’s a dry heat they say
Great idea for upholstery. I'm now searching for free leather furniture 😂
Hello 👋 Merlin McKay you guys ALWAYS MAKE ME LAUGH THANK YOU 👍❤️💪🏻✌️☮️
You guys are a hoot to watch you guys are all great people on top of that love the content you guys put out you guys are really awesome God bless you all
Thought this was a better help commercial when you got to Dave. “Don’t make me laugh or I will fall asleep”is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever heard… I’m in south FL, the other day was 98 but real feel 106 with 92 percent humidity.. It was a 6 shirt day. That’s how I judge weather here. By the amount of shirts I go through.. You can keep your 118, forget that lol.
One man's junque is another man's treasure!
Who ever thougth to use learher off of a old couch
I'm afraid I got you beat, I found an old cash register at the curb, I was going to pull some electronic parts out of, but when I got the drawer open there was over 300 bucks. WTF who would be stupid enough to chuck a cash register, with money in it?!!! years later me and my buddy still tell the story about the trash, that paid off!!!
Happy 4th of July Merlin Fans.
Thanks for sharing 😀👍
Free 99 leather = Score !
I heard Hot Rod power Tour West will be in Havasu Oct 10. You should show up!
Merlin, thanks for the unexpected 'Easter Egg' in the 1970s vintage Olds Vista Cruiser. 1973 Driver's Ed car during summer school; East Bay, Northern Cal. Sequoia Metallic Green, in the 'crate,' everything green interior. AC! Tunes! Memories!!! Good, clean, American fun! ;-)
Here in NC we kill for 50% humidity.
Opp's..Dropped it on the Roof...😮
Dave gives those dealership clowns too much credit. I will never take my car to the dealership for maintenance again. I trust the guy that works on his own vehicles before I trust the idiot that needs a computer to tell him how to do it, but still screws everything up.
