I live here, I commute into central London every day (and back again), leave the station, look of at LA Cafe but have not ever thought to visit it. Now I will!! That food was on another level entirely and you could walk past the place every day and not even notice it! This is exactly why we need people like you, Gary. That gravy literally made my mouth water.
I thought that. Everything he tried he just said it's amazing and these places might seem expensive, but there's a reason why it costs more. You get what you pay for... at least in this case. What have we learned from Gary's vids up to now... celebrity chef owned places charge these prices but their food isn't at this standard so don't fall for it!

LA Cafe is one of my favourites, and I am very fortunate to live in Sutton. Excellent review and well deserved, but you did not get as far as the delicious cakes they offer too. It is wonderful cafe, and I was one of the first to eat within when they opened. Long may it continue.

I was shocked at how bad Taco Bell was. I'm a fussy eater so I wouldn't go there, but Americans rave about Taco Bell as if it's the greatest food ever.
Very well put. I can cook ok, but when you eat a meal out and think “no way I could make that as good” that’s the magical dining experience. This place looked amazing, well done on a deserved 10 and owners lovely response. Next up 100k Gary smashing it.

Gary, what is there to say about this brilliant family-run channel that hasn't already been said? Love the positive energy-your videos never fail to bring a smile to my face. Me and my flatmates love watching them together whilst we eat. It's just amazing to see the great effort in amateur filmmaking from your son, and to see you enjoying good quality grub whilst critiquing it in an informed way without snobbery. I also appreciate how you can eat the messiest meal in the neatest way possible without compromising your enjoyment of it! Truly a top bloke. I appreciate all the London food recommendations as someone who hasn't always lived here. If you're ever around Cambridge, where I lived for a brief period of time, I highly recommend trying Aromi, Japas, or Al Pomodoro (where, incidentally, I used to work). If I were to make a suggestion that I think would improve your channel, it would be to include the food hygiene rating of each establishment that you visit as I think that's very important. The problem with 75% of fry ups in the U.K. comes down to one simple fact, quality of materials. This place has nailed it 100%. I’ve now got this place on my list. The same can be said of 95% of fish & chip shops; Orange industrial sausages, peters pies, industrial fish cakes and leathery saveloys’. As Paul Weller once said ‘The public gets what the public wants.’
Two sensational plates of food. So glad to hear you say they are delicious. Hard to believe this is a cafe, it’s like a 5 star restaurant. Gary you are loving this food. Your face lit up whilst eating. 10, and a great price. Great video again. Very warm over here.
Me and my dad saw this cafe from this video, and we decided the food looked delicious and we should give it a try, happily recommend by Gary. We arrived at the cafe and saw that there was plenty of tables to sit at, either outside or inside which I liked having either option. We decided inside as it was rather cold and the inside had numerous awards hung around the walls. Once sat down we ordered 2 coffee 1 ice and 1 hot, and to signature breakfasts which we had seen in the video. The drinks came fast and the food was not long on the way which was happily given to us by the owner Ankur. This breakfast was unbelievable, I genuinely believe this was the best breakfast I have ever had, the French scrambled eggs had a beautiful white truffle sauce over them with a very generous portion whilst the sausage had great flavours and a great texture to the meat. The bacon was succulent and had a beautiful shell to them which made it crispy, the tomatoes which were from Spain had a homemade pesto on top of them which combined beautifully as the flavours all mixed with one another. Paired with a nice portion of Heinz beans and homemade sourdough which was light and fluffy, this breakfast was a all time high and afterwards I definitely felt full. But then I saw the deserts and I knew I had to see how tasty they would be. I ordered 3 desserts, 1 which I had at the cafe and the rest I took away. I had a pistachio mixed croissant with pistachio ice cream and chocolate sauce around it. Absolutely beautiful this dessert had all the flavours and the presentation which I appreciate a lot. I ordered a coffee, chocolate slice of cake with nuts in which was also very delicious, then finally a dessert called the NY, this heated up melts with chocolate in the inside with an outer shell of a croissant/ cinnamon swirl. Again very very delicious, I recommend this cafe 100% and definitely make the journey from afar.

It has recently changed ownership and the new chefs with michelin 1 star experience have created a very exiting new menu. I highly recommend the chicken udon in XO sauce, and the fried Thai style crispy chicken burger/ fried food. Thanks mate!

Totally agree not afraid try quality other channels we know them go to cheapo joints Wetherspoons and the rest then moan etc because it's £10 . And worse they can't cook stuck in eating same sh*t sorry but I can cook fresh food don't need Hello Fresh and Gusto😂😂😂😂
@@747jonothe variety is great, and I think it's important that people remember that a good meal out does not always need to cost a lot, but lower expectations accordingly. I love Wetherspoons fish and chips on occasion, even if objectively it isn't brilliant, because it's cheap, I get left alone to eat in peace and feel satisfied without breaking a hole in my wallet.
I always appreciate the videography and audio here, Gary and the food is always the focus, but such attention to the surroundings is so good to really give a good feel for where they are

I visit LA Cafe 3, 4 times a week , usually for morning Coffee after my morning gym work just over the road . And then over the road to the station, out somewhere or the bus if going home. I just find the cafe to be so relaxing. And beautiful coffee.

Food looks stunning. Presentation is immaculate. Would definitely 'give it a go' if I was ever going to be in that area. And honestly, you had two full meals. With this quality, cooked with fresh ingredients, love and passion for the food they serve, this is not expensive. It's worth the money. McDonald's is expensive.

After the disaster of Taco Hell, I’m just glad that your faith in British high street restaurant food has been restored. LA Cafe, well done (it’s just a pity I live so far away in north Lancashire).
I love Cafe's like these, hidden in plain sight types. I wish it was closer to home to give it a go... I want to try that bacon and the maple-y parsnips so bad! Have you ever tried Cafe Rose in Maidstone? If you ever get the opportunity, they are another under-appreciated Café, but I think they really shine on their traditional English breakfasts.
I wish I had Gary as my dad for that saying when I was a kid. I may have had a chance of fighting the trauma I've suffered with food ever since a dinner lady force fed a banana down my throat that I didn't want to eat because it had black bits on it.

Very well put. I can cook ok, but when you eat a meal out and think “no way I could make that as good” that’s the magical dining experience.

Gary, what is there to say about this brilliant family-run channel that hasn't already been said? Love the positive energy-your videos never fail to bring a smile to my face. Me and my flatmates love watching them together whilst we eat. It's just amazing to see the great effort in amateur filmmaking from your son, and to see you enjoying good quality grub whilst critiquing it in an informed way without snobbery. I also appreciate how you can eat the messiest meal in the neatest way possible without compromising your enjoyment of it! Truly a top bloke.
I appreciate all the London food recommendations as someone who hasn't always lived here. If you're ever around Cambridge, where I lived for a brief period of time, I highly recommend trying Aromi, Japas, or Al Pomodoro (where, incidentally, I used to work).
If I were to make a suggestion that I think would improve your channel, it would be to include the food hygiene rating of each establishment that you visit as I think that's very important.

Me and my dad saw this cafe from this video, and we decided the food looked delicious and we should give it a try, happily recommend by Gary. We arrived at the cafe and saw that there was plenty of tables to sit at, either outside or inside which I liked having either option. We decided inside as it was rather cold and the inside had numerous awards hung around the walls. Once sat down we ordered 2 coffee 1 ice and 1 hot, and to signature breakfasts which we had seen in the video. The drinks came fast and the food was not long on the way which was happily given to us by the owner Ankur. This breakfast was unbelievable, I genuinely believe this was the best breakfast I have ever had, the French scrambled eggs had a beautiful white truffle sauce over them with a very generous portion whilst the sausage had great flavours and a great texture to the meat. The bacon was succulent and had a beautiful shell to them which made it crispy, the tomatoes which were from Spain had a homemade pesto on top of them which combined beautifully as the flavours all mixed with one another. Paired with a nice portion of Heinz beans and homemade sourdough which was light and fluffy, this breakfast was a all time high and afterwards I definitely felt full. But then I saw the deserts and I knew I had to see how tasty they would be. I ordered 3 desserts, 1 which I had at the cafe and the rest I took away. I had a pistachio mixed croissant with pistachio ice cream and chocolate sauce around it. Absolutely beautiful this dessert had all the flavours and the presentation which I appreciate a lot. I ordered a coffee, chocolate slice of cake with nuts in which was also very delicious, then finally a dessert called the NY, this heated up melts with chocolate in the inside with an outer shell of a croissant/ cinnamon swirl. Again very very delicious, I recommend this cafe 100% and definitely make the journey from afar.

It has recently changed ownership and the new chefs with michelin 1 star experience have created a very exiting new menu. I highly recommend the chicken udon in XO sauce, and the fried Thai style crispy chicken burger/ fried food.

@@747jonothe variety is great, and I think it's important that people remember that a good meal out does not always need to cost a lot, but lower expectations accordingly. I love Wetherspoons fish and chips on occasion, even if objectively it isn't brilliant, because it's cheap, I get left alone to eat in peace and feel satisfied without breaking a hole in my wallet.
I always appreciate the videography and audio here, Gary and the food is always the focus, but such attention to the surroundings is so good to really give a good feel for where they are

I visit LA Cafe 3, 4 times a week , usually for morning Coffee after my morning gym work just over the road . And then over the road to the station, out somewhere or the bus if going home. I just find the cafe to be so relaxing. And beautiful coffee.

Have you ever tried Cafe Rose in Maidstone? If you ever get the opportunity, they are another under-appreciated Café, but I think they really shine on their traditional English breakfasts.

I wish I had Gary as my dad for that saying when I was a kid. I may have had a chance of fighting the trauma I've suffered with food ever since a dinner lady force fed a banana down my throat that I didn't want to eat because it had black bits on it.
